Gov'ment Uses Games To PWN
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 28th of April 2008 - 11:13 PM ]
U.S. Spies Use Custom Videogames to Learn How to Think So this is something that is a few days old, but it was kind of buried. So I figured I'd bring it up here. The short and dirty of it is that the U.S. Government is paying for a few games to be built to help train spies and interrogators on their craft. So not just tactics, but quick thinking and analysis. Something that games have been proven to provoke a great response with. Read More…

2009 Movie PWNage Or Not
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 28th of April 2008 - 08:55 PM ]
Dragonball Teaser Poster So all you DBZ fans out there, looks like 20th Century Fox could be starting the promotions for the new live action film. As the movie poster thumb shows. Oh, let me say that the date on the side is not the release date for the film, just the date that this poster was found. Still no official word on if it is real or a fan made one based off the Japanese one that has been spread amongst the interwebs. Who knows any more in the day of photoshop where even real images look like they are photoshop fakes. Read More…

Smashing More Pumpkins In Games
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 28th of April 2008 - 08:01 PM ]
Rock Band DLC For 4/29/08 Not too huge of a thing going on as far as the DLC for Rock Band this week. Not too keen on the two Mother Hips songs that are coming out. They just don't sound like they will really be all that fun to play. Maybe it is just me, but meh. So kind of a slow one. But then there is one that I will most likely be getting this week. One of my favorite Smashing Pumpkin songs will be out this week too. Still waiting on some good Slipknot or Rammstein to make it on the lists for this game, or maybe even Free Bird as well. Kotaku Brings More Siren
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 28th of April 2008 - 07:49 PM ]
Siren: New Translation Is Pretty, Horrifying The writers for Kotaku have scrounged up some more images for the new Siren game. A demo of the game was released last week on the Japanese PSN Store. They got it and got some great images of the game and placed them up for all to see. From what I saw and they said, it looks like a killer game. Even though it seems more of a retelling of the PS2 version of the game. But so far, it looks really cool and twisted. Read More…

PWNing The Test Of Time
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 28th of April 2008 - 06:24 PM ]
Valve: No new Portal this year I'm sure that anyone and everyone has most likely heard of Portal. Yes? No? Well ya did now. But in any instance, there is a little more buzz going around about this game and it's previously announced sequel. What is it? Well the fact that it won't be coming soon. Which could be ok. Why do I say it could be ok, well look at their track record. Read More…

11 Signs Of Behavior Pwnage
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 28th of April 2008 - 04:25 PM ]
11 signs you're no longer a hard-core gamer So I was running around with my head cut off, like a chicken, when I lost my favorite site over the weekend. During such, ran across this and was considering whether or not to post something about it. The comedian in me finally got the better of me and I went ahead with it. As is obvious since you are, hopefully, reading through this. There will be an exam on it to check to see who is reading these things. Read More…

Artist PWN Classic Views
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 28th of April 2008 - 03:58 PM ]
Realistically Painted Bowser So it looks like it is becoming a big new fun thing to redo some classic characters and make them look real. That is, photoshop a person to have the actual body type of say Mario or Homer Simpson. If you haven't seen them ye, I will warn you that they are kind of creepy to look at. Just think how a real person would look if they had their proportions and brace yourself. This new one though is a nicely painted version of how Bowser would look if he was actually in the real world. Read More…

First online review of GTA IV hits the Internet
by Aaron BlueWolf72 Molloy [ Saturday, 26th of April 2008 - 03:59 AM ]
IGN posted their full review of the game this morning, which spans seven pages and ends in them awarding the game a 10 out of 10. "Hang in one area of the city long enough and you'll see how traffic and pedestrian flow changes as the day progresses. When it rains, people bring out umbrellas or shield themselves with a newspaper and run for an awning. Cops chase petty thieves unaware that walking down the street is Niko Bellic, cold-blooded killer. There's a perfect balance of mumbling doomsayers to remind you that the reason this city never sleeps is because it's full of nut jobs. Read More…

The noisy Payne & Redemption Website has word this homebrew Max Payne movie project is feeling the maximum pain of being "foxed" by, well, Fox, as the owners of the rights to an official movie based on Remedy's shooter series are looking to protect their interests by shutting down the production.
