This Week In Video Games 11/17/14 — 11/21/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 22nd of November 2014 - 12:00 AM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games Games, games, and more games has been the huge theme for the last few weeks. Not just in news but in video game releases. Hells, this week we had yet another two reviews (Adventure Time: The Secret Of The Nameless Kingdom and Escape Dead Island) and we have more to come. Just think what is going to happen here in a few weeks when we get all of the news out of the PlayStation Experience and The Game Awards. Only two weeks to go until we get all of that heaped into our eyes and thus our grey matter. Read More...

I'm Not Sure If These Are Traps In Dying Light Or Not
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 21st of November 2014 - 10:00 PM ]
A new trailer for Dying Light has been released to show off some of the 'traps' that we will get to use to handle the zombie plague I think my definition of traps is vastly different than those of the people behind Dying Light's marketing. We have a new trailer for Dying Light just below that claims to show off the traps of the game but most of what is show is that of the player using the environment to their advantage and nothing lying in wait. The whole point of a trap is to set something up so that you can have it spring on something while you are busy handling something else isn't it? Semantics aside though we do get to see some more fun ways to kill the infected in Dying Light. Read More...

Here's Your First Taste Of Narcosis
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 19th of November 2014 - 08:00 PM ]
New screenshots and video for Narcosis have been released giving us all a taste of what the game is all about Before we dig into the new visuals for Narcosis let's break down what the game is all about…like the Hokey Pokey. Narcosis is a "survival story set in the hostile depths of the Pacific Ocean." Pretty much you take the role of an industrial diver who is stranded in the depths of the ocean after some kind of accident and you need to get to the surface before your oxygen – and sanity – give out. That was lifted right from the Narcosis site though and not me paraphrasing or (un)sensationalizing the copy at all. Read More...

New Batman: Arkham City Easter Egg Three Years In The Waiting
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 18th of November 2014 - 10:00 PM ]
Another hidden Batman: Arkham City Easter Egg from Calendar Man has been solved by some eagle eyed and brilliant fan of the franchise If you though that you have 100% completely found all the hidden secrets of Batman: Arkham City or just found everything then you are going to be in for a shock. It looks like there is a new Easter Egg from Calendar Man that pretty much everyone has missed up until RockSteady Games began posting hints and clues to something missed. It only took three years now but it looks like there is a 13th conversation from the villain outside of what was required to get the Trophy/Achievement for talking to the character over the course of the year. For those who may not know, during Batman: Arkham City on specific real world dates the villain Calendar Man said something new around the events or holiday involved for the date. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 18th of November 2014 - 08:00 PM ]
Lara Croft And The Temple Of Osiris has gone gold and now we have a nice look at the puzzles crafted by Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix to kill us So Lara Croft And The Temple Of Osiris has gone gold and releases in only a few weeks. This of course is the four-player co-op title that is slated to keep all of us sated as we wait for Rise Of The Tomb Raider next year and moving forward if you happen to not be a Xbox One gamer. Luckily Lara Croft And The Temple Of Osiris is coming to the PS4 and PC as well so all of us needing a good fix for Lara Croft have an option. Thanks Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix. Read More...

We Have A New Medic For Evolve Named Caira
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 17th of November 2014 - 10:00 PM ]
IGN Has Shown Off The New Medic For Evolve Named Caira And She Can Heal You While Blowing You Up We still have not heard Hyde nor hair of a new monster yet for Evolve but I think that is going to come after we get through all the new hunters for the game. We are down to one more, maybe, as we have our new Medic for the game named Caira. That leaves one more Assault and then hopefully a new monster. Of course these are all the hunter characters that we should have when Evolve launches next year (2/10/15) on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Read More...

Bloodborne Has Been Delayed To March
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 12th of November 2014 - 10:00 PM ]
Sony PlayStation has announced that Bloodborne has been delayed back to March of 2015 If you were looking forward to playing Bloodborne on February 6th then it is time for you to get let down. It looks like the game has now been delayed in making its PS4 debut until March 24th of 2015. Just under two month extra that you will have to wait, that's all. Could be a lot worse like six months or a year so you might want to calm down on the canceling of the pre-orders and all. The news about Bloodborne's delay comes from the PlayStation Blog where no real reason why has been given as to the delay. Read More...

Looks Like We Are Getting Just Cause 3… Just Cause
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 11th of November 2014 - 08:00 PM ]
It has just been announced from Avalanche Studios and Square Enix that we are getting Just Cause 3 in 2015 Time to dust off all of those Just Cause jokes and puns as we are getting Just Cause 3. In the wake of the next Game Informer cover being shown off it looks like Square Enix and Avalanche Studios have decided to make the announcement of Just Cause 3 live to quell speculation. Not only quell the speculation but to let us all know that Just Cause 3 is coming in 2015 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC all because we loved Just Cause 2 so much. Isn't that swell? Read More...

More Support For Evolve In The Way Of Cabot
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 10th of November 2014 - 10:00 PM ]
IGN Has Shown Off The New Support For Evolve Named Cabot And He Looks More Supportive Than The Others Last week we had our most recent hunter for Evolve shown off in the wake of the PS4 and Xbox One beta. This week we get another new hunter in the support class named Cabot. He's a rail gun shooting, death ray wielding, orbital cloud calling new addition to the mix who also looks to be way more in the support class than any of the others that have already been announced by 2K Games and Turtle Rock Studios to date. Here's a quick breakdown of what Cabot brings to Evolve and how I came to my thought on him. We all know that the support for Evolve is there to buff and also put the hurt on the monster as you hunt it down. Read More...

Review: Sunset Overdrive
by Greg Tatterfield [ Thursday, 6th of November 2014 - 06:00 PM ]
We sit down and play Insomniac's new action third person shooter Sunset Overdrive. Is a trip to Sunset City worth it? Find out in my review. Story A new energy drink hits Sunset City and turns most of its residents into mutants, sending the city into the apocalypse. The company Fizzco who put out the energy drink then closes the city off to the rest of the world in hopes of covering up the incident. As a survivor you team up with others to escape the city and expose Fizzco. Hated There was not much to hate about Sunset Overdrive if you are into fast pace action and crazy moments. Read More...

Check Out More Of The 150+ Characters Of LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 5th of November 2014 - 08:00 PM ]
A new developer diary and more characters are shown off for LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham in the latest video released for our amusement If you thought that the upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice was cramming in an obscene amount of characters then you just have not been keeping up with LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. It really does seem the DC way now-a-days to cram as many of their IPs into one product and see which hits home with fans so they can then exploit that one. Then again it is no strange news that we are up there with TT Games' LEGO Batman 3 as that was kind of the goal without changing the game's title to be LEGO DC Universe or LEGO Justice League. We Have A New Trapper For Evolve Named Abe
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 4th of November 2014 - 10:00 PM ]
IGN has shown off the new trapper for Evolve named Abe and he has a couple of game breaking features I loathe needing to link out to other sites that are all about being paid support video games but that is the only way we are going to get any further Evolve updates now. Looks like IGN has locked that up but that won't stop us from bringing our look and opinion as now we have Abe the new Trapper for Evolve. Now we are up to three different Trappers and two of everything else as the Big Alpha wound down on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Glad that we all get to miss out on the new stuff for the click bait. Looks Like No Evolve For Those PS4 Owners For Halloween
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 31st of October 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
An update on the big Evolve alpha for PS4 owners dictates that the new system update has ruined things for those hoping to play Looks like we got a trick for Turtle Rock Studios and 2K games for those who were looking forward to playing the hell out of Evolve over the Halloween weekend. According to the Evolve Big Alpha blog it would seem that the latest 2.0 update for the PS4 firmware is causing issues and that the PS4 alpha is being postponed. Postponed to when they have not stated yet as 2K and PlayStation are working on solving the issue. Read More...

Dying Light Is Now A Console Exclusive…A Next Gen Console Exclusive
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 29th of October 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Dying Light will no longer be hitting the PS3 or Xbox 360 and it is too intensive for them to run the game If you were planning on picking up Dying Light on the PS3 or Xbox 360 this coming January you will need to reevaluate that life choice there. Techland and Warner Bros. are no longer bringing Dying Light to those consoles and making the game exclusive to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This announcement came from Techland's Facebook page where there was a long explanation that boils down to that the older consoles just couldn't run the game and keep the amazing look and feel that the other systems could. Here's what Techland had to say directly about this update for Dying Light: Dear Gamers, As you probably know, we’re wrapping up the development of Dying Light, our biggest and most ambitious project to date. Time To See How Evolve Has Evolved Into What We Have Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 28th of October 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
Just before the big alpha for Evolve on Halloween we have a nice long look at how the game evolved from the minds of Turtle Rock Studios Only a few more days until we all get to hop into the big Evolve alpha on Halloween. That is of course if you aren't out scaring humans or helping the little ones hunt down tasty treats. I digress though as this is all news we've heard or seen before and what we have here is a good look at how Evolve has evolved into the game we will all be playing on our PS4s, Xbox Ones, and PCs this coming weekend. So let us see how many times we can run that pun into the ground… Just as he did for The Evil Within it looks like Adam Sessler is giving Evolve the same 'behind the scenes' treatment only with many more months to pump out all of the content.
