by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 6th of July 2011 - 03:46 PM ]
Petroglyph Games has opened its doors to everyone willing to participate in the new free-to-play Multiplayer Online Battle Arena game Rise Of Immortals. In fact, it's so open, you just need to head over to their site and sign up! This title has been in beta for a couple of months now, and finally ready for the public to get some hands on time with it. Well if getting a sneak peak of the soon-to-be released title isn't enough, players that participate in the open beta test will get 1000 Petroglyph coins at launch (a little over $10 micro-transaction cash). Also, to show off players battle prowess and that you had a head start (I'm sure everyone will have it by launch) players will receive an exclusive Immortal skin. Read More...

Review: Transformers: Dark Of The Moon
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 5th of July 2011 - 11:07 PM ]
As I am sure you undoubtedly know, the new Transformers film is in theaters. This also means that the new game based on the film, Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, has hit shelves to try and draw more money out of our pockets due to nostalgia. Yep, here is yet another film based game. Another chance for a game company to rush something out just to catch a few extra bucks from the hype. Let's see how this fairs against all of the other film based shit games out there. The Story After the events of the last film, the Autobots have taken it upon themselves to help the human race by performing secret missions to keep the peace of the world. Read More...

Review: Duke Nukem Forever
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 28th of June 2011 - 08:55 PM ]
Nearly 14 years in the making, Duke Nukem is back in action in Duke Nukem Forever. It was shaky and seemed like it was never going to hit shelves, but Gearbox and 2K Games proved most of us wrong. But is the FPS any good or at least been worth the wait? Welcome as always to where I come in. The Story Twelve years after the events of Duke Nukem 3D, Duke is living the high life as a national hero/treasure in Las Vegas. All seems well. That is until the aliens that he took care of so long ago decide to attack instead of finish the peace talks they are currently working on. Read More...

Kingdom of Amalur E3 Gameplay Trailer
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 9th of June 2011 - 06:35 AM ]
With some of the biggest names in the realm of high fantasy, and judging by the latest E3 trailer, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is not going to disappoint. Magic, rebirth, hack n' slash combat, this trailer does it all and for the first time we get a little background on the storyline. It's a really great look at the extensive world created by R.A. Salvatore and the team at 38 Studios. Read More...

House Of The Dead: Overkill Ext. Cut Moving To PS3
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 28th of May 2011 - 07:20 PM ]
I knew holding out would pay off. I knew that one day House Of The Dead: Overkill would be hoping onto the PS3 so I could hear all 189 of those F-Bombs that are laced throughout the story. I'm sure they are all tastefully positioned for story purposes and not to crack some kind of record… Although seeing as this is the extended cut of the game coming to the PS3 I have a feeling that the record is going to be broken with a few hundred more tastefully placed F-Bombs. There are a whole two more stages to pack full of the profanity. Lets' do a little math on this. Read More...

What's With The Nut Shots In Shadows Of The Damned
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 18th of May 2011 - 06:08 PM ]
So we are coming into the home stretch before Shadows Of The Damned will be hitting shelves. Just a little over a month last I checked. We've been give some interesting and, after I got a hold of it, controversial things for the game in the past, so what is to come now? More videos of madness? More odd creatures that will be trying to drag Garcia's girl deeper into the nether realm? Here's the funny thing here though. There are a few interesting and odd looking creatures in the below screen shots but notice that Garcia is aiming near the "junk area" when taking aim. Read More...

Activision To Release A New Call Of Duty, More Talk Of Project Beachhead
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 11th of May 2011 - 03:54 PM ]
Monday brought a lot of long awaited, if not expected, news for the Activision Blizzard team. One important bit of news was a new Call of Duty title that would be released before the end of this year. With Call Of Duty: Black Ops the number one selling game in the US and Europe for the past three months, it's no surprise that Activision is going all in with this one. It's a safe bet that another CoD will sell just as well if not better than its predecessors. "This year's Call Of Duty initiatives will result in the best Call Of Duty experiences we have created to date," Kotick said. Read More...

Dark Of The Moon Shows How Bumblebee Stings
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 9th of May 2011 - 10:42 PM ]
Unlike Mass Effect 3, Transformers: Dark Of The Moon is still on track for its June release. I mean it better be as Activision is trying to get it out in the same window as the upcoming film as well. A delay now would be retardababy. Or at least give us the promise that is not just a film tie-in and a real follow up to War For Cybertron. Well with the being on track and all, there are a few more screen shots from the game to take a look at. You can see them below. Read More...

Zombie King Don't Give A Damn In Call Of The Dead
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 4th of May 2011 - 08:31 PM ]
I'll start by throwing a SPOILER alert here for all those Call Of Duty: Black Ops fans who are picking up the Escalation DLC today on the 360. Also for all those fans who are picking it up on the PS3 or PC later on. The below videos show off some of the DLC that you might want to experience firsthand and not through the internet. You've been warned, don't get pissy. If you are continuing on, then you undoubtedly wish to see what else is included in the DLC besides a few maps for multiplayer. Read More...

Shadows Of The Damned Now Showing Clone-like Symptoms
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 4th of May 2011 - 04:51 PM ]
What I thought was a game that could have been another fun survival horror game seems to be turning into just another clone. Shadows Of The Damned doesn't sound like just a clone in the way of "it has elements" of other games but straight up game play clone. Like for instance a functionality that uses light and darkness to weaken enemies. So Silent Hill and most recently Alan Wake. Specifically AW when you listen to the developers explains how you will have to use light to help weaken the demons. Read More...

The Damned Of Shadows Of The Damned
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 26th of April 2011 - 08:14 PM ]
Damn, that almost worked out to be a palindrome. So close. Unlike the release date of Shadows of the Damned, which recently got pushed back a bit. A date that is now two weeks further away than before, but hey it could have been a lot worse. The game could have been canned altogether. Then where would we be? I'd have no crazy women jokes to run nor "damned" articles to throw out there. Madness right? Read More...

Gears Of War 3 Beta Death Montage
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 25th of April 2011 - 09:34 PM ]
YouTube user "Doominated" was kind enough to capture all the executions found in the Gears of War 3 Multiplayer Beta. The below highlight reel showcases some brutal, visceral and outright over the top executions ranging from brutal beat downs with bare hands to decapitations via a shield. As I watched this video, I cringed a lot. Not to mention some "OH, THAT'S MEAN!" and other screams of torment mixed in. Read More...

Call Of Duty To Become The Next Guitar Hero?
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 25th of April 2011 - 04:20 PM ]
A leaked memo from Activision's CEO Eric Hirshberg is sure to have Call of Duty fans shaking in their boots and at the same time jumping for joy. The memo, from back in February, shows that Eric and the rest of the company are weary that Call of Duty might end up just like Guitar Hero. Let's see why this is a good thing for Call of Duty fans. Eric believes that the key to continuing Call of Duty's success is its Quality, saying "We need to focus: on making games that constantly raise the quality bar; on staying ahead of the innovation curve; on surrounding the brand with a suite of services and an online community that makes our fans never want to leave. Entertainment franchises with staying power are rare. Read More...
