Hey Look At Me! I'm Climbing A Bridge!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 26th of August 2009 - 08:23 PM ]
The Saboteur Screen Shots So The Saboteur tried to sneak by with a quiet showing of the game. Either because they were drowned out by al the Blizzcon news and other GamesCom news that was all a flutter. But you know what? We at AggroGamer here caught these sneaks trying to get past everyone's view. We caught the game in action here and we caught it red handed. Climbing, driving and sneaking on the peripherals of everyone's views. Read More...

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 - Ultimate Character Reveal (The Thing)
by Jesse [ Friday, 21st of August 2009 - 08:10 PM ]
For villains of the Marvel Universe, the phrase “It’s clobberin’ time!” is the signal that Aunt Petunia’s favourite blue-eyed nephew is ready to start laying a beating on someone. Growing up on Yancy St. in New York, Benjamin Grimm had a rough early life. His older brother died while Ben was just eight years old and he was sent to live with his Uncle Jake & Aunt Petunia. Ben earned a football scholarship to Empire State University where he met his future best friend and teammate Reed Richards. Following graduation, Ben went into the Air Force and trained to become a test pilot. Read More...

Jean Grey is a great many things. She is one of the original five X-men. She’s a mutant possessing Omega-level psychic abilities. She’s contains the power of the Phoenix Force within her. She’s smoking hot and she’s dead. Being one of the original X-men, Jean went along with the team to Krakoa, the Living Island. Following their return from Krakoa, Jean left the team for a time. Read More...

DJ Hero Adds More Exclusive Mixes... To The Mix
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 12th of August 2009 - 03:07 PM ]
Continuing to add to the exclusivity of its new DJ Hero franchise, Activision today announced that The Scratch Perverts and DJ Yoda created exclusive mixes for the upcoming release. I think this new release of information shows us two things: Activision wants the fans to know that they are really putting it all into this title and they are also shrewdly telling any competition that may spring up, "Yeah, don't bother, we got this." Not exactly a bold move on the large corporation's part and it's hardly a new concept. Create barriers to entry for your competition even before it exists by firmly planting in the consumers' minds that you are "the one and best. Read More...

More Than Meets the Eye
by Jesse [ Friday, 7th of August 2009 - 09:32 PM ]
I have to be honest, I haven’t heard a single positive thing about the tie-in game to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen save for the fact that it has multiplayer. Beyond that though, I can’t really say that I’m enticed to drop $60.00 to buy this game. However if you’re one of those die-hard fans that actually went out and bought the game, well at least you have a bunch of new goodies that are on the way. Activision and ROTF developers Luxoflux have been working hard to prepare a fairly sizeable amount of downloadable content. As I mentioned, multiplayer is probably the only thing that has me even remotely interested in ROTF so it’s nice to see that a lot of the downloadable content is targeted on bolstering that part of the game. Games to Watch: Way of the Samurai 3
by Kevin [ Friday, 7th of August 2009 - 07:57 PM ]
The original Way of the Samurai title was released on the Playstation 2 back in 2002. It was set in 19th Century Japan, where you would take on the role of a ronin who wanders into a remote village and becomes involved in a conflict between rival clans. One of the best features about this game was the branching storylines that offered some very solid replay value while at the same time offering enough in the way of varying weapons and side content to really constitute different gameplay experiences. Although the story in the first game follows one overall framing narrative, the actual events that the you would engage in really depend on the decisions you make. Some decisions, while seeming small, could affect who lived and died at the end of the story. Read More...

Comic Con Issue #2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 30th of July 2009 - 05:31 PM ]
Friday: XBox and PlayStation Day After fixing the few technical issues with Issue #1, we move onto the next day. A day dedicated primarily to what two of the largest companies and platforms brought to show off the gaming world. PlayStation and Xbox in case you couldn't figure it out. For some reason Nintendo was completely void of the con, outside of the companies showing off Wii and DS games they have coming out. But that's not the point here. We got to see a few things, meet a few celebrities, as well as end the night hanging with some of The Guild actors, Sony Hardware people, and the guys from the Totally Rad Show. Read More...

The Force Unleashed Once More
by Jesse [ Sunday, 26th of July 2009 - 03:08 PM ]
September 16th of last year saw Lucasarts release the much anticipated Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Right from the get-go, TFU was all about giving players a more thorough Force-wielding experience. Powers like Force Push and Force Lightning could be used in ways far beyond anything we’d ever seen before in a Star Wars game. Following the games release though, Lucasarts supported the title by creating several downloadable packages. There were two costume packs that added several new costumes for The Apprentice, as well as a number of alternate character skins. Read More...

Movie Games Gone Wild
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of July 2009 - 05:44 PM ]
WARNER BROS. INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT AND LEGENDARY PICTURES PRESENT WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE Seems like a late announcement, but it was one that could easily be figured to have been made. Since most films nowadays get their own video game either based off or completely on the film in question. Why would there be any difference for Warner Bros. Where The Wild Things Are? So far they have yet to miss a game based on their films this year. Read More...

The Mothership Has Landed
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 15th of July 2009 - 06:24 PM ]
Fallout 3 Mothership Zeta DLC Here is an interesting way to conclude the reign of DLC for Fallout 3. Let's beam people onto an alien mothership that has crashed on the planet after tricking them into thinking there is a distress call emanating from it. Things get really exciting when they find out that they must to fight their way to the helm of the ship to secure it, their lives and an escape route. An interesting twist to things, but I think some of the features that are offered up are going to be the bigger selling point. After being beamed aboard, players will get to add the alien technology to their arsenal of weapons. Read More...

The Conduit Video Game Review
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Sunday, 12th of July 2009 - 04:01 PM ]
High Voltage Software unveiled its Wii-exclusive first person shooter (FPS), The Conduit, to the eager gaming public more than a year ago. Nintendo fans saw the game as a surprising, yet welcome, departure from the Wii’s library of casual games. Furthermore, the lack of exclusive quality shooters for the Wii have starved owners since Metroid Prime 3: Corruption back in 2007. It goes without saying that The Conduit has high expectations to meet. Now that it has finally arrived on store shelves, will High Voltage’s alien blast-fest live up to the hype? Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of July 2009 - 06:22 PM ]
Watchmen: The End is Nigh Just in case you couldn't and didn't get enough of Watchmen, film or game, Warner Bros. is giving you even more options. Even options for you XBox and PC users that kind of got the shaft the first time around with the release. Even though the more economic version of it all is still on the PS3. Mainly because it is all bundled in for the cost of the BluRay plus a little more. Starting on the 21st (A truly epic day), XBox users can download the first and second episode of Watchmen: The End is Nigh in a nice little bundle. Read More...

Mandalor And His Merry Men
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of July 2009 - 05:28 PM ]
Star Wars The Old Republic - Mandalorians Looks like Lucas Arts and BioWare are starting the campaign to get us all amped for The Old Republic. As they have just placed out a video clip telling the background of the Mandalorians, via a Jedi Star Log and animatics. Telling of their rise and fall and what has become of them currently, also kind of why they have become the bounty hunters that we all know and love from the Star Wars Universe. I have a feeling that we will have more of these in the coming weeks, and most likely covering everything else you can play or kill in The Old Republic. We'll keep you up to date as we get these videos in. Read More...

Release Tuesday 7-7-09
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 7th of July 2009 - 08:53 PM ]
Today is Release Tuesday version 7.7.09 and it brings a few new games into our collection. My favorite (and perhaps I'm a tad bit biased about this) is the Tales of Monkey Island: Launch of the Screaming Narwhal (episode 1). The game keeps its predecessors' sense of humor, adventure, and it's complex-yet-simple puzzles. The original VO cast returns as well, as does Michael Land, who was the composer of the previous games' soundtracks. The game is the first part in five 4-5 hour episodes that will be released monthly. Read More...
