Why So Serious?

I think the Joker summed up the past few years of video games quite well, with his famous saying "Why So Serious!?" It seems that today's industry has dropped the light-hearted and comical games of yester-years for a more gritty, hardcore, and serious tone. While I'm not saying these "serious" games are bad, I am saying that a break from them would be much appreciated. Video games are not all about world wars, political sabotaging, or saving the world from a cliché ultimate evil. We came from a very humble beginning, a beginning of stomping on weird brown monsters, using rainbows to squash bugs, and controlling fat pink things that suck up anything in their path. "Fun Fact: Super Meat Boy past the million sales mark last month! PLATINUM BABY!" - Team Meat Twitter. I'm so proud of Team Meat with this amazing feat of strength - a whopping one million sales. This time it is Captain America: Super Soldier based around the hero and forthcoming film of similar, but not exact title. Does Nintendo Make Kid Games Or Games For People Of All Ages?

So I was reading an opinion piece on Kotaku all about how Shigeru Miyamoto thinks he makes game that appeal to people of all ages - not just kids. The writer of the Kotaku piece made the comparison between Nintendo and Pixar, who has made arguably the best animated films of all time that are characteristically appealing to young children and adults alike. Review: Super Street Fighter IV

Super Street Fighter IV is definitely a great value at $40, especially for people who didn't pick up the original. Aside from everything originally included with IV, Super also includes a handful of new characters, new stages, new music and updated online play. This includes some new modes and features that fans have been wanting for over a year now. A new roster update comprises of a nice selection of characters from various series in the Street Fighter universe, as well as two new ones exclusive to Super. Juri is a welcome addition with a quickness that many other characters are lacking, and Hakan is a grappler covered in oil that brings more depth to his style of character. Read More...
