Project Prelude Rune & A New Studio, Studio Istolia, For It Have Just Been Announced
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 21st of February 2017 - 08:00 PM ]
Studio Istolia A new studios, Studio Istolia, has been announced as well as Studio Istolia's first IP being in the works in terms of Project Prelude Rune If for some reason you didn't think that Square Enix had a lot on their table already, they go out and set up a whole new studio in the way of Studio Istolia. This would be a whole new studio that has been founded in Japan and has been tasked with bringing more great story titles out to us all with their first getting the codename of Project Prelude Rune. Given that this is only an announcement for Studio Istolia and the first IP it is working, there isn't much more to go on than that but at least we know that we have another contender in the gaming world and their aim is to bring more story based titles to us. Marvel & Square Enix Have Partnered To Bring Many Games Starting With The Avengers
by Julia Schoebel [ Thursday, 26th of January 2017 - 06:00 PM ]
Avengers A new partnership has been announced and we are getting a new Avengers game from Marvel & Square Enix that will tell an original Avengers story in the vast universe There were some nice teases over the last few days on a new announcement coming from Marvel and Square Enix with a lot of speculation aimed at a "Marvel World" being in Kingdom Hearts III being the big news. It looks like all of that is completely wrong as now we know that it was all to announce the two giant's partnership and that we will be getting a full on video game for The Avengers sometime in the near-ish future. 2018 seems to be the year thrown around here but that doesn't stop it the excitement as there will be a nice big and flashy new Avengers game to be played out there in the mix of all of the other Marvel titles also on the way this year and the next. Here's A Sneak Peek Of Project Wight That Twists The 'Monster' Story A Bit
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 2nd of November 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
Project Wight A new game in the works codenamed Project Wight has a new sneak peek to show off what we could have in store when Project Wight comes to market It is always interesting to see where some developers go after they leave other big projects and it looks like Project Wight is the next game to jump into this category. This is the new title coming from a new development team named The Outsiders and it looks like they are taking that name a bit to heart on what we have here for the first "sneak peek" of their project. Project Wight seems to be the working title for the game right now and just as we have a working title to work with we also have very few details on what this game is going to fully entail. NightCry Is Looking To Terrify Sometime This Spring
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 2nd of March 2016 - 10:00 PM ]
NightCry After a nice little alpha demo of NightCry it looks like the development team is prepping for a Spring release for NightCry on the PC Last year we were able to see that NightCry was funded and in the works from Nude Maker studios. There was a lot of rejoice as many, myself included, loved the Clock Tower games that this was game was going to be building off even if it wasn't a direct sequel. As Kickstarter campaigns go of course we were all updated with a few things during the time of success and now and if some of those backers had been keeping a close eye they would have seen a nice little alpha slice of NightCry to have been played all last month. It looks like things went well and the feedback that was given was helpful as it looks like the PC build of NightCry is now well on its way to release in the next few months. Read More...

Boss Key Productions has officially announced LawBreakers as their first title so say goodbye to Project BlueStreak while it lasted You might remember way back in March when we all had a look at Project BlueStreak or you may not. It doesn't matter anymore as it is now officially LawBreakers and the first upcoming title from Boss Key Productions due out sometime in 2016 for the PC. If you are still out of the loop here then let me catch you up quickly. Boss Key is the new studio founded by Cliff Bleszinski and Arjan Brussee. Read More...

Square Enix Wants To Prove We Can't Kill Progress
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 7th of April 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
A new interactive and viral video stream reveal from Square Enix has arisen and all we know is you Can't Kill Progress If you have been keeping tabs on the weird stuff on the internet over the last few days then you may have heard or seen the Can't Kill Progress video stream taking place as I type and you read. This is all part of some huge game reveal from Square Enix and one of their Western developers and kind of shows how depraved humans truly are. As of right now the titles we can speculate on here are Can't Kill Progress and Project CKP and the video shows a man being broken down and "tortured" in a small cell. Read More...

Have A Look At Boss Key's Project BlueStreak In Pre-Alpha
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 10th of March 2015 - 05:01 PM ]
At PAX East Boss Key showed off a pre-alpha teaser for Project BlueStreak, the developer's first title currently in the works If you missed out the first look at Project BlueStreak during PAX East then you are in luck as we are here to help you out. It looks like Boss Key Productions, the studio started by Cliff Bleszinski after he retired and then came back into game development, only wanted to make those who were able to attend the panel during the convention feel special for a few days as now the whole world can see the non-pirated video. Okay, that may be a little harsh if taken out of context but none the less we have the first pre-alpha teaser for Project BlueStreak which is the developers first upcoming title that will be, as we could guess, an FPS using the Unreal 4 engine to build an run the whole thing. I'm sure you want to see what is in store for us with Project BlueStreak and the high frame-rate that Boss Key wants to ensure we have with the game so I'll let you have a watch. Read More...

NightCry Has More Gameplay To Help Get The Game Funded
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 16th of February 2015 - 06:00 PM ]
An extended NightCry gameplay 'trailer' has been released to try and help fund the game as the Kickstarter campaign comes to a close It looks like Nude Maker isn't going down without a fight as the NightCry Kickstarter campaign comes to an end. We now have more gameplay to show off for NightCry and how the point-and-click nightmare is going to play if the game actually gets to be made. They are just about a third of the way funded with only six days to go so things are looking as grim for that to happen as when Monica decides to hide in the drier from the Scissor Walker. Watch the extended gameplay and you'll get that little joke even though I really do hope that NightCry does get fully funded. Read More...

NightCry First Gameplay Looks Creepier Than The Short Film
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 3rd of February 2015 - 10:01 PM ]
The first bit of gameplay for NightCry has been added to the Kickstarter campaign by Nude Maker in the hopes to help fund the game more Last week we had a look at the live action trailer for NightCry, the Clock Tower spiritual successor, and it was okay. It was meant to help set the tone that Nude Maker is going for with NightCry. In my opinion it didn't do a great job as it felt like a really cheesy made for TV short film and nothing that could hold a candle to my memories of Clock Tower. Now we have the first bit of gameplay for NightCry and this is what they should have led with when starting up the Kickstarter for NightCry. Read More...

Night Cry, AKA Project Scissors, Has A Short Film & Kickstarter Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 28th of January 2015 - 06:01 PM ]
Night Cry, the official name for Project Scissors and spiritual successor for Clock Tower, has a short film and is looking for funding now So we have a new short film for Night Cry, the official name for Project Scissors and spiritual successor for Clock Tower, and while it may not give us much of anything for the game it will most likely be one of the more bizarre things you see today. This game is coming from Hifumi Kono, creator of the Clock Tower game series, and Takashi Shimizu, director of The Grudge so we really shouldn't be expecting anything less right? These guys do have some rabid fans out there after all. Read More...

Project Scissors Gets Its First Live Action Teaser Trailer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 2nd of January 2015 - 10:00 PM ]
Project Scissors, the spiritual sequel to Clock Tower, has had its first live action teaser released to show the theme and mood of the final game Fans of the Clock Tower franchise may be familiar with the upcoming Project Scissors title coming soon. It is pretty much the "spiritual sequel" to the franchise. How it is only going to be a "spiritual" sequel instead of an actual sequel is beyond me as Project Scissors is being made by the same guy who directed the original series; but that is me just splitting hairs when we don't need to. Especially since we have the first trailer for Project Scissors just a bit below. Read More...

PlayStation Experience Hands On — Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 9th of December 2014 - 10:00 PM ]
While At The PlayStation Experience I Was Able To Check Out Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes; An Interesting Bomb Disposal Title Coming For The Project Morpheus Project Morpheus was on the show floor for the PlayStation Experience. It had a bunch of different tech demos and early games to help show off how cool the tech could be but one game that got a lot more buzz than anything was Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes. Given the demand of the Morpheus at the PSX the line was doubly huge for Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes but I had a chance to sit down and give this cool bomb disposal virtual reality title a few play throughs. Most were on beginner but I did get a chance to play the higher difficulty. Read More...
