E3 2010 Hands On: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 28th of June 2010 - 04:31 PM ]
At E3 2009 Konami showed a trailer, for the first time, for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Needless to say, it took nearly everyone by surprised. A year later Konami showcased the game with a playable demo. I wasn't able to play the full length of the game but I still played long enough to talk about what I played. The demo started off in the rainy village, where Gabriel has come to find leads about the whereabouts of a powerful unnamed entity. As Gabriel rides up on his horse he is sees villagers leaving the town. Read More...

E3 2010 Hands-On: Saw II: Flesh & Blood
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 23rd of June 2010 - 04:03 PM ]
Yes, Konami is making another video game based on the Saw film franchise. Before you start with your "They're Making Another One?!?" comments, remember it is because most of you continue to pay for the films and games, even though you harp on them. Maybe you do it with hopes of improvement to the franchise or, like me, you just love the mind trips and traps. Who doesn't like some insane traps that make you think "That is F'ed Up!"? Read More...

But now it looks like it is going to go down that path with the video game version of the psychological killer storyline. Yes, it has been announced that Saw 2 is in the works. Scream! Finally, Some New Castlevania Screen Shots
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 9th of March 2010 - 03:09 PM ]
Almost a year after its announcement at E3 '09, we finally get to see what Hideo Kojima has been doing to one of gaming's iconic franchises, Castlevania. He is playing around with Castlevania: Lords of Shadow in a way that I am still kind of on the fence about. At least I write that based off the screen shots below and renders for the Kojima's Castlevania. Some look amazing, while others look like they were originally slated to be place-holder assets that got mixed into the screen shot bin. Look at the renders for the spiders, werewolves, and goblins (I guess? Read More...

Metal Tweet Solid VII: Patriot Sons of Blue Foxtail
by Kevin [ Sunday, 28th of February 2010 - 08:57 PM ]
Though Twitter has not verified the account, those that have been following the Tweets of this account have been thoroughly convinced that Hideo Kojima has found his way into Twitter. Kojima has been doing his thing on Twitter for a few days now, and it's worth the translation effort just to walk along with him. There have been several tweets that provide evidence that it is in fact him as such his view from the top for instance. He also enjoys sharing the contents of his meals. Read More...

Review: Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment
by Binh Nguyen [ Thursday, 25th of February 2010 - 06:14 PM ]
Wait, Vandal Hearts is still around? Why yes they are. Hijinx Studio and Konami recently released Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment for the XBox Live and PlayStation Network and did a reasonably good job with the game. I just find it a bit random that out of all the Konami franchises, that Vandal Hearts was the one they chose to release. In any case let see how this Japanese turn-based RPG do. If you have played any turn-based tactical RPGs like Ogre Tactics, Disgaea, or Final Fantasy Tactics than you will be familiar with the game and will find a few innovations. Read More...

There Will Be Blood This Wednesday
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 19th of January 2010 - 10:38 PM ]
No, unfortunately, this does not mean that Daniel Day Lewis will be abandoning his child (abandoning his boy), and being a gracious oilman on our next generation consoles. Nay, this deals with the blood that will be spilled via two downloadable titles coming this Wednesday on XBox Live and PSN. Death by Cube (800 ($10)) is a little gem by Square Enix with a story that suggests a sweet abundance of man's most precious videogame resource, violence, "Leo is a robot, one who awakes to find that he has lost his memory. All he knows is that he must reboot the heroine robot, so he sets forth on a mission hoping to regain his memory. To his surprise, he finds the world is now filled with battalions of enemy robots, drenched in bright red oil, and shooting bullets every direction. Read More...

by Kevin [ Thursday, 19th of November 2009 - 02:04 AM ]
As a fan of mobile gaming, I'm always trying to keep an eye out for the best deals for the platform. Well, here is an instance of one of those deals - and it's a really good one. Konami is dropping several of their titles down to $.99. For the list of titles they are offering, there is certainly a great value here. The sale is going to be up until this upcoming Saturday, November 21, so if you want to grab them, now is definitely the time to do it.Power Pros Touch, $3. Read More...

Interview With Vandal Hearts: Ryan Graff
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 2nd of November 2009 - 09:20 PM ]
It's been sometime since we heard anything from Konami about their Tactical Role-Playing Game Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment. It was rumored before that the game was going to be a remake of the PlayStation version of Vandal Hearts and was going to be released for the Nintendo DS. Well that is not the case as we were managed to get an interview from Ryan Graff, Vandal Hearts: Flame of Judgment Original Concept Writer, to answer some questions that we all have been wondering. Q: Why it has taken almost 10 years to get another Vandal Hearts game out. A: Needless to say, 10 years is a long time in the game business, and in that time, much of the original Vandal Hearts team has moved on. Read More...

Review: Saw: The Video Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 20th of October 2009 - 03:37 PM ]
Now I want to start out that this is not a movie based game, at least like all the other movie based games that get pumped out onto the store shelves when a new feature film or the film it is based on is about to hit the big screen. I felt we needed to open with that, because Saw: The Videogame shares only the title and is a continuation off the first film. It is not based of any of the films that have come out or are coming out. It should be considered Saw 1. Read More...

It's A Story... Of A Clan Named Belmont...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 20th of August 2009 - 03:56 AM ]
Konami Unmasks the Belmont Clan in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Just in case you forgot about the Castlevania game that has Hideo Kojima attached to it, due to being hit in the head with a baseball bat, let's give you a reminder. Yes, the man of Metal Gear Solid fame has his hands in the game. Yes, there are a lot of big names doing some of the Voice Overs. Yes it is a very well done looking next gen version of the franchise. But that was all that people knew of when they first announced and gave a short tease at E3 this year. Read More...

E3 Impression: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
by Binh Nguyen [ Sunday, 7th of June 2009 - 04:49 PM ]
With all the huge news coming from Square-Enix, Activision, EA, etc, Konami decided to join in on the fun and make a huge announcement also. How? With a trailer of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Also announced was the shocker of Kojima Productions working with MercurySteam on this title based on the classic game. As I stood in the middle of the Konami show floor looking up on their titan-tron waiting for the trailer to come up, one thing came to mind while I was waiting. "Will this game be another disappointment? Read More...

Get Cut Into Thirds
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 14th of April 2009 - 06:00 PM ]
Saw Game Producer Interviewed So now that Konami has been attached to the game as well as some of the screen shots and video popping up, looks like the steam roller for this game has been started. Which is good since it is slated for this October, most likely around when the 6th film is coming out. But little has been brought up on what you are suppose to do in the game. I was thinking little mini-games/puzzles like in Blown Away. Read More...

Talk About Phoning In A Kill
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of April 2009 - 06:15 PM ]
KONAMI ANNOUNCES SILENT SCOPE COMING SOON TO APPLE APP STORE Just one more step towards trailing all humans how to efficiently kill with a sniper scope. Or at least to kill using an interface that could control a sniper scope. Yea, think like in the movie The Jackal. Aim and kill with just the touch of your finger to the iPhone screen. Ok, maybe not that dramatic, but you get the idea, I hope. But in all seriousness, Konami today announced that they are working on a full on version of Silent Scope for the iPhone. Read More...
