This Week In Video Games 9/7/15 — 9/11/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 11th of September 2015 - 11:14 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games It has been a shorter week in the video games world here but that still doesn't mean we didn't get to what we could. It did allow for us to play catch-up on all of those video games we had sitting around or just launched here recently. Only now we get to look forward to titles like Rock Band 4, Hellblade, and The Wither 3's DLC that are all coming. At least based on all of the video games we had to cover this week even though, like I said, it was shortened by the most recent American holiday and we took a break to play some video games. SOMA's Creatures Really Are The Fuel For Nightmares…
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 10th of September 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
Have another look at SOMA's creatures and monsters that will be stalking the depths as we try not to lose our sanity with SOMA Get ready to live and breathe the horror that is SOMA as we have our first kind of look at the creatures that will be stalking us on September 22nd. We've seen a few before in other videos that Frictional Games has shown off but this one kind of takes the cake. At least in terms of setting the mood of SOMA and the horror it is trying to instill. If things pay off I can see SOMA replacing all that hype that Silent Hills had on the PS4 only this time on the PC as well. Read More...

Ten More Guitar Hero Live Tracks Have Been Revealed To Us
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 8th of September 2015 - 09:00 PM ]
There have been ten more tracks added to the ever growing list of Guitar Hero Live songs that will be playable when Guitar Hero Live officially launches There is still over a month before Guitar Hero Live hits homes around the world. October 20th will creep up on us like a bad burrito and we'll be jamming out to all the songs that FreeStyleGames could cram into Guitar Hero Live's disc. Of course this will be expanded based on all of the other options Activision is forcing into Guitar Hero Live to make sure we have a well-rounded set list of songs but we'll focus completely on the disc list as that will be available for all who purchase Guitar Hero Live no matter what. At least that is the hope… With that said it looks like we have ten more tracks added into the list here for Guitar Hero Live. Read More...

A Few New Screenshots For The Technomancer To Marvel At
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 8th of September 2015 - 07:03 PM ]
Another small batch of screenshots for The Technomancer have made their way online to show off the vastness and horrors awaiting us in our journey with The Technomancer The Technomancer has been in for one rollercoaster of a ride for me when it has come to its visuals and depiction of the mythical "Red Planet." Some shots and video I have seen from Spiders Games have blown my mind even though they are listed as pre-alpha. Others have not. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 8/31/15 — 9/4/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 4th of September 2015 - 11:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games This has really been the week of video games and their collector's editions hasn't it? There sure were a lot of those announced or shown off this week haven't there? Although now of them have been anything to write home to mom about but not all video games can have amazing CEs. If you don't believe me you can have a look at the Uncharted 4, Street Fighter V, and Deus Ex collector's editions that we had the pleasure of seeing this week. Also a Resident Evil one of sorts for the new HD remasters but those aren't true collector's editions. Read More...

The Nightmare Of Batman: Arkham Knight On PC Is Almost Over
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 4th of September 2015 - 07:01 PM ]
A new interim patch for Batman: Arkham Knight on PC has been released so current owners can start taking down the Arkham Knight already The light can be seen at the end of the tunnel for those still suffering from the issues of Batman: Arkham Knight on PC. It looks like Rocksteady Games has finally been able to get that patch together to fix some of the issues that plagued Batman: Arkham Knight and Warner Bros. have released it out in the wild. At least released it out for those who have already purchased Batman: Arkham Knight as it makes the game 'playable' by PC gamer standards and there is a lot more to go until it is available again for purchase on Steam. There Are Five Ways To Play Need For Speed
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 3rd of September 2015 - 09:00 PM ]
A new video for the next Need For Speed has been released showing off the five different ways to play Need For Speed and what they bring to the game The title here kind of says it all as it looks like we have five different ways to play Need For Speed in the upcoming version of the game. That would be five different ways we can drive fake cars in the fake world that Ghost Games will be creating on our PS4, Xbox One, or PC here soon. I'll admit I am making it sound a little weird here for Need For Speed having five different ways to drive but in the latest video that is how it is presented. It really should be "five different ways to score in Need For Speed. Read More...

Enter The Crushing Depths Of SOMA's Environments
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 3rd of September 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
Another trailer for SOMA shows off more of the dark, deep seas that we will be fighting for our lives in when we play SOMA If there has been one upcoming title that has had me both intrigued and confused it has to be SOMA. Sometimes it looks like weird sci-fi horror title and then we get videos like we have below that make it look like some kind of dark deep sea adventure. At least across the board Frictional Games has kept the horror look no matter which vision of SOMA I am looking at. Thankfully all of that will be solved soon as SOMA is hitting the PC and PS4 here on September 22th. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 8/24/15 — 8/28/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 28th of August 2015 - 11:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games This week in video games in now in a wrap and we can all focus on bigger and better things. Like PAX Prime or actually playing some of those video games that we heard or know about now. Especially since next week is going to be a doozy with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Mad Max hitting on the same day. That is if you were able to get through Until Dawn and the latest for Tales From The Borderlands already. Sometimes things have to hit the back-burner and get played later instead of sooner. Minecraft: Story Mode Is Going To Let Us Choose Our Hero Too
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 28th of August 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
It looks like Minecraft: Story Mode isn't only letting us choose our own story paths but also how our hero of Minecraft looks and sounds…with new screenshots While all of those lucking gamers are attending PAX will be getting a chance to play with a beta build of Minecraft: Story Mode it looks like the rest of us are not being left out in the lurch with nothing to go one but word of mouth. Telltale wouldn't do that to us. And in fact they haven't as they have dropped a few new screenshots on us from Minecraft: Story Mode as well as a little nugget that is a first in the developer's history here for their foray into the Mojang franchise. Hear & See The Terror That SOMA Will Hopefully Instill
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 24th of August 2015 - 09:00 PM ]
A new developer diary and screenshots for SOMA have been released all focusing on the atmosphere and sounds that will inspire fear in SOMA Given that SOMA is supposed to be a horror-like title it would make sense that there are a lot of creepy sounds during the game. Same goes with the fact that it is a Sci-Fi title as well so we should be expecting a whole lot of that as well. SOMA wouldn't be the title that Frictional Games is pushing if these elements were not present as we all should know that sound and music help drive emotions and tone in video games. Well, any form of media, but we are talking SOMA and we are talking video games here. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 8/17/15 — 8/21/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 21st of August 2015 - 11:03 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games Another week in video games down and many, many more to go. Even if this week was a bit on the roller coaster ride that we usually use to describe weeks that occur before major conventions. PAX Prime is coming up so I am sure that all of the other big announcements and reveals will happen then. That's not saying we didn't have some great stuff for Until Dawn, Batman: Arkham Knight, and Mad Max this week. Hells, we also had one of the best announcements for Kingdom Heart III with Big Hero 6 getting its time in the sun when that game finally hits the market. Read More...

The Waiting Game Continues For Batman: Arkham Knight On PC
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 21st of August 2015 - 05:02 PM ]
A new update for the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight has been detailed and it looks like it will be a few more weeks until a true status update If you are one of those PC gamers out there still waiting for Batman: Arkham Knight to be playable or purchasable again then this is an update for you. It's not the best of updates as Warner Bros. states that there will be a few more weeks before the current patch that just went into testing will be issued out for current owners of Batman: Arkham Knight. Step Aboard The Avenger Of XCOM 2 & Strategize
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 20th of August 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
New gameplay for XCOM 2 has been released and it focuses on the strategy elements of XCOM 2 as well as living in a big ass ship You wanted more gameplay for XCOM 2. Well now you are getting more gameplay for XCOM 2. The only thing is that we are not getting the turn-based gameplay but the strategy stuff that Firaxis Games is taking great care into allowing us to micromanage every little aspect of XCOM 2 with. Just what all of us were looking for with the franchise as it moves on from its better titles and leave the crummier ones in the dust. XCOM fans can be so harsh it is kind of a surprise that 2K Games was going to take another chance but I guess they think they will appease all of you. Read More...

Until Dawn Gets Another Trailer To Drive Home The Butterfly Effect
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 18th of August 2015 - 07:00 PM ]
A new gameplay video for Until Dawn has been released to show more teenage death, horror, and the butterfly effect we'll play with in Until Dawn As if yesterday's installment of teenage death and terror from Until Dawn wasn't enough we have yet another trailer for the game. Only this time it is a gameplay trailer for Until Dawn and not a live action one. It also happens to touch upon the butterfly effect again as this is something that Supermassive Games has been pushing since Until Dawn was changed over to a PS4 title. At least to my memory.
