NCAA Football 10 Review
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 14th of July 2009 - 02:47 PM ]
Defenses be damned, offense is the name of the game in EA Sports' NCAA Football 10, their newest iteration of the NCAA football series. With all new game modes and a new presentation, it is clearly the sharpest looking of all, but is it the best? NCAA Football 10 continues the time-honored tradition of only adding just enough to get people to buy the new edition for the new year. Incorrect uniforms, dull (and often inaccurate) stadiums, boring commentary and lackluster audio plague the game, however it has always been that way. The first game I played, a rivalry game between Wisconsin and Minnesota, wasn't a very good first impression. Read More...

Lusting For More Dante's Inferno?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 13th of July 2009 - 10:11 PM ]
Dante's Inferno Lust We all know the meaning of Lust. We all know what is attributed to this "deadly sin" as well. When you think of it, most of the time humans will go the low brow version of this concept. Something that one of the developers at Visceral Games talks about in the below video. Another developer diary for Dante's Inferno. This go around is all about the second level of Hell, Lust. In the video, they bring up all the concepts that they had and currently are working with for this level of the game. Read More...

Play Left4Dead 2 At San Diego Comic Con
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 13th of July 2009 - 07:41 PM ]
Regardless of which side of the fence you sit on the release timing issue of Left4Dead 2, if you are going to San Diego Comic Con, you will want to jump on this. Valve will be showing Left4Dead 2 at Comic Con, as well as make it playable. At E3 they showed us "The Parish." This time around they plan on demonstrating a new campaign ("Swamp Fever") along with some never-before-seen items. After seeing Left4Dead 2 at E3 and going hands-on, I am already extremely hyped on the game and encourage everyone at SDCC to stop by the EA Gaming Lounge in the Gaslamp Hotel and try it out. If for nothing else, get your hands on some melee weapons and hack up some zombies. Read More...

What We Are Able To Show Of Mass Effect 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 13th of July 2009 - 04:57 PM ]
Mass Effect 2 Developer Diary One of the big things that was kept behind guarded close doors a month ago at E3 was Mass Effect 2. EA wen to great measures to ensure that no one caught video or even spoke about what was seen in the small closed off room. With good sense given some of the spoilers and how epic this game looks like it is going to be. If you are a fan, you know what I'm talking about here. Well here is some good news for you that were not one of the lucky few to get into that hidden booth, but have heard about things from it. Read More...

Gaming For Less
by Michael Camacho [ Sunday, 12th of July 2009 - 06:19 PM ]
As the stock market continues its disappointment, unemployment rises, and necessities rise in cost, it is becoming even more difficult for gamers to justify that $60 price tag on most games these days. Luckily for all of us gamers, there are various options to help us stretch our wallet. Whether you are looking to buy new, used or even trade games, I am here to broaden your horizon on various ways to nab a great deal on the game you want. Buying new can be costly, but only if you must have a game the day it comes out. Even then it is not impossible to find some good deals on brand new games. Read More...

Review: Punisher No Mercy [PSN]
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 9th of July 2009 - 09:43 PM ]
MERCY!? You Want MERCY! I'm Chaotic Neutral! When the Unreal 3 Engine and game came to market, many of us looked at it in awe with the power it game developers and modders to make their own visually stunning FPS games. Other genres can work with it too, but it is totally an FPS engine. One thing I always though would do great was to have a shooter with some of the better of the licensed superhero characters of comic fame. Granted, Punisher was not the absolute first to come time mind for some reason, but it was the top three ideas I thought of. It was also an idea that Zen Studios came up with and make work extremely well with Punisher: No Mercy. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 9th of July 2009 - 07:40 PM ]
ABANDON UNVEILS FIRST SCREENSHOTS AND GAMEPLAY TRAILER FOR FREAKY SPACE, FIRST EXPANSION FOR FREAKY CREATURES With a bit of the obscure listed earlier today, I figured I'd keep with that and bring about some news about an obscure MMO that may be a guilty pleasure for some or completely un heards of to others. We don't judge here. There is an MMO style game out there called Freaky Creatures. Read More...

EA LOS ANGELES ANNOUNCES THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMMAND&CONQUER 4 At the end of Command&Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, I'm sure you were left with a few questions unanswered. Not as many as you normally have after an episode of Lost, but you still had some. You were also left wondering if they would ever get answered or if you were going to be left hanging. Well EA's Los Angeles branch doesn't want you to wonder about the "Soup That Could Have Been" for ever. Which is why they picked up and are now bringing everything to a close with Command&Conquer 4. In Corollary To Real Warfare
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of July 2009 - 07:43 PM ]
Battlefield 1943 Launch Trailer A few things have happened in the world over the last week or two. Outside of "famous" people loosing their mortal coil. We've celebrated our freedom, US at least. We've lost some more people who give us our freedoms. We've gained a game that lets a simulate what people have gone through to give us these freedoms. That game being Battlefield 1943. Well at least console gamers have gained the game. Read More...

Gaming To A Whole New Level In Vegas
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of July 2009 - 03:34 PM ]
Clearwire officially launches WiMax in Las Vegas When you think of Las Vegas and Gaming, the first place you go is to the table game and gambling. It is the staple in Vegas. But it looks like soon, like in a few weeks, gaming could take a slight twist in the town. At least as it comes to online portable gaming. Maybe make the town a bit more family friendly. Who knows? Release Tuesday 7-7-09
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 7th of July 2009 - 08:53 PM ]
Today is Release Tuesday version 7.7.09 and it brings a few new games into our collection. My favorite (and perhaps I'm a tad bit biased about this) is the Tales of Monkey Island: Launch of the Screaming Narwhal (episode 1). The game keeps its predecessors' sense of humor, adventure, and it's complex-yet-simple puzzles. The original VO cast returns as well, as does Michael Land, who was the composer of the previous games' soundtracks. The game is the first part in five 4-5 hour episodes that will be released monthly. Read More...
