Big announcements are happening at GDC every day but Nintendo surprised everyone when it announced a new collaboration with AT&T and its soon to be released Nintendo 3DS. During his keynote speech at GDC this morning, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata's informed everyone: "There is great potential to increase the number of people who enjoy video games by opening up new game-play opportunities that are only available through the use of 3D,” Iwata said. “Nintendo 3DS will be the most connected Nintendo device ever, with its ability to link people via local wireless connections, while at the same time connecting them to people and content worldwide via hotspot connectivity." Am I right or am I right? With April seeming so far off, at least for me, I know I will take every little bit I can get for Portal 2 as it comes out. Even though they don't show all that much for the game that we haven't already been able to extrapolate. I mean this just shows some of the "tests" left for Chell to get through and nothing all that much more. I am digging the shot of Chell running from some kind of bot, doesn't look totally like GLaDOS to me, and the interesting concept of what looks like an underground water cooling system. Well we can put the rumors the Batman: Arkham City co-op video that found its way to the internet started. In a recent interview Sefton Hill from of Rocksteady Studios gave there will be no co-op play in Arkham City. It will be a single player game only. This kind of makes me extremely happy. Especially with the reasons being that they didn't want to take anyone from the team off the work on single player to deliver a rushed co-op mode. So just like the Transformers Game, Green Lantern is getting the same treatment with a video game tie-in. A game nicely titled Green Lantern: Green Lantern: Rise Of The Manhunters and looks to be as tied to the film in every way but overall story. Now here is an interesting twist that could occur with the upcoming Batman: Arkham City, co-op play with the Clown Prince of Crime! At least from a video that seems to have been leaked out through a few European websites that shows just that. So the beta for DCUO came and went. We were lucky enough to be part of that whole experience. Well now the full version of DC Universe Online is ready for you to pick up or download depending on your preferred platform to play. To celebrate that fact, as is usual, there is a new trailer to show off for the game and to help promote it. So here we are a week out from the launch of DC Universe Online and considerable time has been spent tweaking and fixing bugs in the beta, both on PC and PS3. I had the chance to be a part of the beta, along with all of you PSPlus subscribers or those lucky to have swagged a code to get in. According to the latest announcement from SOE and DC Universe, they have decided to delay the release of DC Universe Online in order to address a lot of the community Feedback. There is currently no new release date for DC Universe Online; all we know is that it's coming sometime early 2011. So what does this mean for the beta? Well since the game is getting pushed back, players that have those VIP Key cards, or signed up on the website for beta access can see invites going out as early as next week.
