It's In The Vents Of Alien Isolation…
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 16th of September 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
The How Will You Survive Video Series Continues For Alien Isolation Showing Off Why You Don't Hide In The Air Vents You would think by now that it would be common knowledge not to hide in air vent in Alien Isolation or in any horror situation for that matter. It is a tight fit for most and usually leads to a dead end quickly. They may work wonders for Batman but face it, all but one of you reading this are not Batman. Hiding in air vents when being hunted down is just not a good idea. Read More...

A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games Once again we have come to a close on all that video games news here on the site. Like many other weeks in the past it definitely looked like things were extremely pointed in terms of announcements and news. Mostly this week towards release dates for titles, Resident Evil, Assassin's Creed, or Alien Isolation. If you take a look at the list below for all the video games we covered this week you can totally see how that all played out. If not then you may need to get your eyes checked out. Read More...

Guns Are Not Always The Best Option In Alien Isolation
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 11th of September 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
The How Will You Survive video series continues for Alien Isolation showing off why guns don't solve everything in the game If you've been out of the loop then you may have missed that Sega and Creative Assembly have a nice little video series slowly coming out for Alien Isolation. The idea behind it all is how to survive in the world that the game takes place in. It is also a nice look at how not to play Alien Isolation as the actions taken by the player in these videos seem to always lead to the titular alien hunting them down and doing very bad things to them. This latest trailer is no exemption from the concept. Read More...

No Escape Now That Alien Isolation Has Gone Gold
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 9th of September 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Alien Isolation has gone gold and with that announcement Sega and Creative Assembly have given us a new trailer for the game It's always a good day when we can say that a game has gone gold and there are no more delays, which happens to be just the case for Alien Isolation. So far the alpha and beta builds of the game have handled amazingly as well as brought the horror back to the franchise. This is one of the few titles I am still looking forward to for the rest of this year so the golden announcement will make this October 7th such an amazing day. To go along with the announcement of Alien Isolation getting the little gold sticker, it looks like we are also going to have a bit of fun leading up to the release of the game with a new "trailer series" titled How Will You Survive? Have A Look At How Terrifying Alien Isolation Is Trying To Be
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 14th of August 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
A new CGI trailer for Alien Isolation has been released from Gamescom showing off the terror that Creative Assembly is aiming for There shouldn't be any mistake in knowing that Alien Isolation is being slated more to the horror and suspense side of the franchise than the pure action schlop we've been getting. I've played through a bit of the game at conventions past and while it is now Silent Hills teaser it is a down right suspenseful title. At least that is the case based on the little bit I have played for Alien Isolation but I am sure that SEGA and Creative Assembly want to instill that fear that the franchise had so long ago. This Week In Gaming 7/21/14 — 7/25/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 25th of July 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming Well this has been one crazy week in the gaming world. I blame it mostly on SDCC and all of the craziness that brings with it. It is way more than just comics and their other forms of media outlets. We've been trying to keep up with everything we can while covering all of the stuff on the show floor directly but it can get insanely overwhelming. But I am not here to complain about all of that. I am here to bring you all that gaming news I know you are craving to sink your eye balls into. Read More...

So What Does The Original Cast From Aliens Think Of Alien Isolation?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 25th of July 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
A new trailer show a behind the scenes look and interviews with the original cast coming together for Alien Isolation's DLC If you had that wonder mentioned above for Alien Isolation then we can put that to rest for now. In fact it sounds like the original cast seems to like the overall idea of Alien Isolation and the two bits of DLC they all worked on for us. In case you forgot that would be the Crew Expendable and Last Survivor packs that cause quite a stir a little while ago. I'm still not sure why but if the original cast is behind it that is at least a good sign right? Read More...

See How Expendable The Crew Of Alien Isolation Is
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 15th of July 2014 - 09:01 PM ]
A few new screenshots for the Alien Isolation DLC have surfaced showing a few scenes from the expansions I've been reading lately that people are upset about the pre-order DLC for Alien Isolation. I'm not completely sure why or if it is just the general hatred and Alien Isolation is just getting the backlash because it is the most recent that will have DLC for all platforms out the gate and not "exclusive" timed DLC like other titles that will remain nameless. You should know which I am talking about but if not it rhymes with shmestiny. Hate it or not, we have a few new screenshots for the Alien Isolation DLC Crew Expendable none the less. Read More...

Alien Isolation Is Now A Movie Tie-In Game From The 70's
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 9th of July 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Pre-order bonuses for Alien Isolation have been announced and it will let players recreate part of the original film during gameplay No, this isn't announcement about a new movie to go alongside the release of Alien Isolation. If the headline there confused you then I am not sorry to tell you that there is no new film. We are getting the chance to recreate part of the Alien film though; with some of the characters and voices that made the franchise so big that it spawned all those sequels, crappy games, and no Alien Isolation. Note that I have left Alien Isolation out of the crappy games category for now and then we will carry on. Read More...

Alien Isolation Has A Few More Screenshots To Show Off The Horror
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 2nd of July 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
New screenshots for Alien Isolation have come out of hiding and are ready to pounce We had a few sexy screenshots for Alien Isolation. Now it looks like we have a few more that didn't make the cut earlier but they still show off how nice the game will look. At least in the terms of fire, make-shift Molotov Cocktails, and flame throwers. We can file all of these in the folder of "The Environment Looks Amazing And The Lighting Effects Are Awesome" for now. It's a long name but it will make it easy to search for later. Read More...

There is a new set of screen shots for Alien Isolation showing off the horror aspects as well as how sexy the game will look Yes, I did use the word sexy to describe Alien Isolation and the new screen shots that we have been provided. Want to fight about it or just enjoy all the amazing visuals that we have to offer here? I'm going with the latter. If you haven't invented a way to punch someone through the internet yet then it looks like you are going to have to settle for that as well. Read More...

E3 2014 Hands On: Alien Isolation
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of June 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Alien Isolation In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It So this is more of a two-for-one instead of just hands on for Alien Isolation at E3. There was a nice long showing of the game in a demo driven by one of the developers at Creative Assembly but then shortly after there was a bit of a challenge map that let us all experience the horror of Alien Isolation first hand. In fact it was a demo that was all about the stealth and escaping the Alien not trying to hunt it down. I'll dive into the driven demo first then explain how it actually felt to drive it all myself. See How The Cast Of Characters In Alien Isolation Came To Be
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 8th of May 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
A new trailer showing off how the characters of Alien Isolation were created to give the game life. Here we go with another developer diary for Alien Isolation. This time it is showing off a bit more to the story of the game as well as to how Creative Assembly created each of the characters for the game. It is no real big surprise that they used a bit of facial capture but it is cool to see that they are using the actors who gave the performance as the actual model. This isn't anything new in the industry but it usually isn't common place in a world where publishers and developers want to use big names and face. Read More...

Creating The Authentic Alien Universe For Alien Isolation
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 17th of April 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
A new developer diary for Alien Isolation has been released showing the care in creating the 70's Sci-Fi in a modern age. Let's mark this new developer diary for Alien Isolation a step in the right direction. At least in my book. Sega and Creative Assembly have just released a new dev diary showcasing how they are trying to stay true to the original limitations that the Alien films had for Alien Isolation. It is always funny to look back at older films and see how under advanced the future is supposed to be due to the real world tech at the times. For instance, Alien is supposed to be set around 2119 yet there are no crazy holograms or AR displays due to the limitations of the tech in the 70's. Read More...

The Sights, And Mostly The Sounds, Of Alien Isolation Are Amazing
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 3rd of April 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
Alien Isolation has a new developer video out showing off all the time and effort Creative Assembly has put in. A lot is riding on Alien Isolation making up for the horrors that the franchise has gone in. Horrors not in the good way for those just looking into what I am talking about. From what I have seen so far from Creative Assembly on this front has been extremely exciting and will hopefully right a horrible wrong that has taken place in the past. But that is all in the visuals and limited gameplay that we have seen so far. Also a bit of how awesome things are literally sound in game. Read More...
