Story Time: Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 21st of November 2013 - 05:57 PM ]
Looks Like Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee Is Getting The HD Make Over With Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty. Here's The Story Trailer And Some Proof I remember way back in 1997 when I first spun up Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee in my PS One. At the time I thought it was the pinnacle of graphics and fun story telling. Now it looks like we are getting a HD rendition of some sort with Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty. From what I remember of the original and see below in the story trailer it is the same in most ways. But that is to be expected from a full remake am I right? Read More...

Playing A Real World Zombie Game - The Walking Dead Escape
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of July 2013 - 04:34 PM ]
Just as last year, The Walking Dead Escape was back with a vengeance at Petco Park during the San Diego Comic Con. For the uninitiated this is an event where a good portion of the sports arena in San Diego was converted into an obstacle course in the theme of AMC's The Walking Dead. It really allows for people to really test their mettle and some of their survival skills to brag that they could survive the initial zombie outbreak. I was lucky enough to get to run the course again this year and what I found interesting was that most people I ran with compared the experience to most of the action zombie video games on the market today. Granted we were not allowed to attack the zombies in the run, but I would have to agree with the sentiment as there has been a push in the industry with Outlast and Dying Light this year. Eight Years Of World Of Warcraft
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 20th of November 2012 - 06:44 PM ]
On November 23rd, World Of Warcraft will be celebrating its eighth birthday. A major feat for any game. Released back in 2004, World of Warcraft (or WoW) has come a long way, and not just in the literal sense. Since its release, WoW has seen over ten million subscribers, four expansions, over 1500 achievements, and enough quests to last you nearly a decade. I first started playing WoW in September of 2009. My first character ever was a Night Elf Rogue and I explored the lush forests of Teldrasil in my first fifteen levels. Read More...

Challenge Mode Armor Updates For Mist Of Pandaria
by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 24th of October 2012 - 07:01 PM ]
The new feature in World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria called "Challenge Mode Dungeons" offer some very cool Transmogable gear. Transmog aka Xmog is changing the look of your gear with another piece of gear while saving the same stats. So Gear A will look like gear B but still has the stats of gear A. But now Blizzard has announced that all of the Challenge Mode gear sets will have a "use" ability to them, giving each class a unique flare to their awesome new gear. For those of you who don't know; Challenge Mode Dungeons are Heroic dungeons on crack. Read More...

Review: World Of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 11th of October 2012 - 11:06 PM ]
Mists of Pandaria is World of Warcraft's fourth expansion since its beginning in 2004. Featuring over 1,800 achievements, a new race, a new class, a whole new continent to explore and much more. Mists of Pandaria was released back in September and I'm finally writing up a review for it, simply because I have experience enough of the expansion to finally give it a worthwhile review. So the level cap has been increased five levels. While that might not seem much, the ramp up from 85 to 90 is enormous. Read More...

Today Blizzard has finally released the cinematic trailer for the upcoming expansion to World of Warcraft called "Mists of Pandaria." The cinematic features a lot of mist and some good old fashioned fighting. Not to mention a little naval battle that is pretty cool. Mists of Pandaria comes out September 25th, 2012. I can't wait to get my grubby little hands on this expansion, with the raised level cap of 90, a whole new continent to explore, new raids, dungeons and of course loot. Fat, fat loot. Read More...

Who wants to get teased? Well you don't get the option to decline now as Deep Silver, of Dead Island and Risen fame, are doing so until August 7th for their upcoming game Sacred World. Well at least that is the assumption that can be made based on a tweet sent out by the company and the teaser site sacred-world.com. This could be the name or it could just be one of the PR sites set up similar to nohopeleft. Read More...

Play The Walking Dead For Real At Comic Con
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 2nd of July 2012 - 08:37 PM ]
So by now you've most likely played Telltale's The Walking Dead, read the comic or seen the show. If anything you at least are interested in the zombie apocalypse scenario. Well here is something that those interested in any of those things mention will find pretty damn awesome. If you are at San Diego Comic Con next week you will have the chance to actually play "the game" for real. The game being that of surviving in a world where the dead have escaped the Underworld and are coming for your flesh. This isn't some small obstacle course set up as fun for promotions either. E3 2012 Hands On: Neverwinter
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 13th of June 2012 - 11:29 PM ]
Talk about another title that wasn't on my radar until I got a chance to sit down and actually have some good hands on with. The title in the instance is Neverwinter. Another attempt at making the perfect version of Dungeons&Dragons into an interactive video game. In this attempt though, I feel that they are just about spot on with what I was able to play. Just as a heads up, I was only able to get handsie with the Wizard class, although it felt more like a Sorcerer. The first thing I have to say that impressed me was the fact that the game deviates from the "tab" based combat system and takes on a very active based one. Read More...

Have A Good Look At The Secret World's Character Creation
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 22nd of March 2012 - 05:11 PM ]
It's been a little quiet on The Secret World front for a while. I think we are due some new info or visuals. Don't you? Funcom did recently have a showcasing of the character creation system and a bit of actual game play, but it was for press only. Most of you out there probably didn't get a chance to check it out, I know I didn't. That is until now. Funcom must have felt bad that got to see the new stuff so they up and decided to post part of the presentation online. Read More...
