Monsters, Controllers & Previews, Oh My!
by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 12th of February 2010 - 05:44 PM ]
Skepticism reigned as I sat down to play Monster Hunter Tri, but it began to dispel as I took the new Wii Classic Controller Pro in my hands and looked across the table at Binh, who was joining me for some co-operative hunting on another Wii. Capcom is breaking ground bringing the immensely popular Monster Hunter series to the Nintendo Wii along with this brand new controller. Though the franchise is huge in Japan, but not nearly as well known here in Europe and North America, Capcom looks to indoctrinate a new audience. If what I played at CES is any indicator, they are off to a good start. Read More...

Rock Band To Let You Play The Super Bowl Half Time Show
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 5th of February 2010 - 03:41 PM ]
Well as long as you have a version of Rock Band that allows for DLC to be added onto your game. That and wait until after the game to buy the track from the Rock Band store. Like you would break anyways right. Between the Super Bowl it's self and the Super Bowl Commercials, when would you find the time anyways. Well that and if you are not too drunk buy then, but now I'm flowing off topic. Any Who, the fine minds over at Harmonix have gotten a hold of what The Who are going to be performing during the Half Time show. Read More...

It Only Took 16 Years For Sonic 4: Episode 1
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 4th of February 2010 - 05:32 PM ]
As the below video montage/teaser for the new Sonic The Hedgehog game show, the new Sonic 4 that was just announced only took the people of Sega since 1994 to pump out the new game. Not all that long right? I mean they did have all those spin offs and uses of Sonic in between the last sonic game and this downloadable Sonic game that is coming this summer. As you can tell from the title, even though it has yet to be officially stated, this new Sonic will be episodic in nature. I mean, why call it episode 1 if it wasn't going to be. Read More...

Review: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 1st of February 2010 - 11:03 PM ]
So it only took a little over a year, but Capcom's latest cross over fighting game has finally hit the shores of the rest of the world. Bringing the latest and best that the Capcom franchises have to go up against the anime characters that acclaimed Tatsunoko Productions has to throw at them. In a nice little battle royal on the Nintendo Wii. A nice 28 man, woman, robot, and creature battle royal. With never before used characters from Capcom being used in this console iteration of the game, you may be thinking, how does it all size up and play out. Read More...

EA shutting down multiple online servers
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 6th of January 2010 - 02:34 PM ]
Below is a list of games that will no longer have multiplayer support as of February this year.  EA says you can play these titles up until the actual shutdown date.  Community programs could shut down earlier, depending on circumstances.  A little surprise for you football buffs, Madden 09 is on this list for a February 9th shut down date.  What does that mean, that means you're gonna have to shell out some cash for Madden 10 if you want to get online and get your fix.Be sure to note which platforms are being shut down, not all titles are being shut down on all platforms, so make sure you take a good look as to which platforms will no longer be available. Nintendo and Xbox want to Monitor your health
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 22nd of December 2009 - 03:14 AM ]
Ever wonder what it would be like to hook yourself up to your Xbox or Nintendo Wii and have it monitor certain vitality signs, use the data to change your avatar accordingly, or tell you what your feeling during certain points of a video game. Imagine status updates but from your internal Biology, take that Facebook!Microsoft recently patented tracking of players physical characteristics and converting that information to reflect on your avatar.  Of course a third party device would have to be created first, but Microsoft would pick up all the info and beam it into your Xbox Live account, making your Avatar look more like you. Review: New Super Mario Bros. Wii
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 8th of December 2009 - 03:55 PM ]
You know the storyline.  You know the tricks.  But how is it still so fun?  New Super Mario Bros. Wii is another smash hit in a long line of Mushroom Kingdom mayhem courtesy of Nintendo.  Staying with their desire for accessibility, Nintendo took all the ideas and concepts that made the original Super Mario Bros. 2D platforming franchise a success and used that as the base for New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Read More...

Aggrocast Episode Fifty One: No GNitro? No Problem...we think
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 25th of November 2009 - 05:28 PM ]
The crew is back minus Michael as he is in the land of the Crimson Tide. Brian and Binh are joined once again by Shannon (moepower). They talk about how much they miss Mike, give a lot of love to Oblivion and have a discussion about GameInformer magazine's top 200 video games of all time. We also discuss the games we have been playing (or not playing in Shannon's case), including Lego Rock Band, Torchlight, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Modern Warfare 2 and more. On Bargain Binh this week, Binh rolls out the doorbusters you must hit on Black Friday, On the DL has Brian gushing more love on a casual game that finally made it to the PSN, and Shannon pulls a hilarious TV series for the Netflix Pix. War Zones, Zombies, Hip Hop, And 'Film Actors Guild'
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of November 2009 - 10:13 PM ]
The below thoughts are those of me, David, and not those of AggroGamer.com or Pwned.com. Send all hate mail and comments to me, or post them below. Just do the favor of not posting Annon and thus the wuss way out. With Modern Warfare and Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles both gracing shelves in the next two weeks, one after the other, it would seem time for the final launch trailers to hit the webs to give us even more reason to want these games. Like there is anyone that doesn't already want Modern Warfare and there is no Nintendophile that couldn't use another great zombie rail shooter. Am I right? Read More...

Nintendo DLC For The Week Of 11/2/09
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 2nd of November 2009 - 11:34 PM ]
When I looked at the list of downloadable content this week for Nintendo, I was shocked to see eight titles listed for the three "platforms" available. For so long, the Big 'N' was releasing one title a week on each platform: WiiWare, DSiWare and Virtual Console. Many people, including myself, asked why Nintendo was holding back, especially in light of the fact that first party titles haven't exactly been busting down retail doors in a short period of time. Unfortunately, when looking at what the public received, you begin to understand why the big push. Looking at the DSiWare selections this week, your attention is drawn immediately to the first party photo application, Sparkle Snapshots. Read More...

The State of Gaming: 2010
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 27th of October 2009 - 04:14 PM ]
The state of gaming as of right now is about to get a whole lot better. With the 2009 fiscal year ending in October, it's finally time to say goodbye to a fairly bleak year, and say hello to a really good year. For the purposes of this article, I am writing about the fiscal years: 2009 means October of 2008 to September of 2009 with 2010 meaning October of 2009 to September of 2010 Sure, 2009 had it's hits: Fallout 3 Left 4 Dead Dead Space Rock Band 2/Rock Band Beatles/Guitar Hero World Tour/Guitar Hero 5/Lego Rock Band/Band Hero Fable 2 Call of Duty: World at War KillZone 2 Halo Wars Resident Evil 5 Batman Arkham Asylum Halo 3: ODST They are all just some of the great games of 2009 but most of them came out right at the beginning of fiscal year 2009 (and the end of calendar year 2008) Fiscal year 2010 got started off with a bang with Uncharted 2, Ratchet and Clank: A Crank in Time, Borderlands, Assassin's Creed 2, and Forza 3, (not to mention the PSPGo, who was released on the very first day of fiscal year 2010) but will include: A New Wii? Project Natal? Sony PS3 Motion Controller Left 4 Dead 2 Modern Warfare 2 Halo Reach Splinter Cell Conviction Bayonetta Crackdown 2 Gran Turismo 5 God of War III BioShock 2 Mass Effect 2 Metal Gear Rising Max Payne 3 Deus Ex 3 Dead Rising 2 The Saboteur MAG Final Fantasy XIII/XIV Star Wars The Old Republic Those are just a few of the really exciting games that 2010 will have in store for us. Review: Wii ElectroFlow Inductive Charger
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 26th of October 2009 - 03:09 PM ]
Since the Wii has come to market and the need for keeping those WiiMotes charged and useable has been a concern for hardcore gamers. So then the rechargeable AA batteries got pulled back out and WiiMote specific chargers began to get pumped onto the scene. Some were good. Some just horrid. But they all kept things working as long as it was just the WiiMote you had and nothing else. Not even the gel jacket to protect TV's around the world. These chargers were workable as long as you didn't care taking the extra time to slide out and disassemble everything to charge the batteries or swap in new ones. Read More...

Earthworm Jim Whips It Good!
by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 19th of October 2009 - 11:02 PM ]
I remember Jim. The funny earthworm with bionic suit that made so many tounge-in-cheek jokes I could hardly stand it. I had the action figure, I watched the cartoon. I played it on every console that it was available for. Now Jim is returning, guns and blazin', to consoles and handhelds all over the world. Cow launching, check. Laser guns, Check. Read More...
