by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 11th of August 2020 - 09:00 PM ]
Oddworld A Switch release for Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty is coming in October adding to the growing list of Oddworld titles on the platform The headline says a good chunk of it here, as Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty will be making its way over to the Nintendo Switch in October of this year. One of the more popular titles in the franchise that Oddworld Inhabitants has placed out there for various other platforms and now coming to the Switch. I am not all that surprised with all of their past Oddworld titles making the leap over as of late. Maybe this will point to the upcoming one also having a release on this platform too. Read More...

Oh, and also a new look at Oddworld: Soulstorm and just about what it is going to bring us in terms of gameplay. Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week That is a wrap on another week out here with all of the news for our video games. Again, we started off in a bit of a slump with the delay of Dying Light 2, but then things picked up again. Well, kind of. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 23rd of January 2020 - 06:00 PM ]
Oddworld Get into the Oddworld universe again with Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD as it launches on the Nintendo Switch Now Get ready to add some fun and quirky gaming fun to your Switch as we now get to see Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD join the ranks of all the titles on the device now. It has been some time since the original version of this title came out and then the first HD remaster that was out there. It was only a matter of time before Oddworld Inhabitants brought it over here to give the enjoyment to many more gamers. It may not be the most current Oddworld, but it was one of the more solid entries into it all and the HD version was amazing back on the PS3 so I can only imagine it being a nice addition here. This Week In Video Games 3/18/19 — 3/22/19
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 22nd of March 2019 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week Such a huge week for all video games this was and I am not talking about just having GDC come and go. While there was a whole lot that came out of that, there was also a whole lot that came out outside of the major convention. From the multiple announcements from the various System Shock titles to the constant updates of Mortal Kombat 11 we also had. All to the biggest news, for me at least, with Bloodline 2 having the announcement and more coming to Mutant Year Zero. Read More...

Glimpse Some New Cinematics For Oddworld: Soulstorm
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 19th of March 2019 - 09:00 PM ]
Oddworld A new cinematic rendering breakdown for Oddworld: Soulstorm is here to show off how things will be made in this Oddworld title Here we go with another title getting shown off a bit more during GDC's Keynotes this year with Oddworld: Soulstorm getting a bit of the limelight. This time we are not seeing much in the way of gameplay for the game, but we are getting a good look at one of the cinematic sequences that Oddworld Inhabitants has put together. If this will show up in the final version of Soulstorm is still up in the air, but it does show off the way things will be presented when it comes to the scenes. Given how the other titles went in the past, I would not be surprised if this was all from the game and not fully pre-rendered though. Read More...

This Week In Gaming 8/4/14 — 8/8/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 8th of August 2014 - 11:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming It sure feels like this week has been one big tease for gaming news. Yes there were a few new items out there and such but it really felt like there was a lot "here's something but you have to wait for the full thing still." I hate teases. Especially when they lead to a whole lot of nothing and waiting for weeks to pass by. Nothing worse for us in the gaming world is there? Read More...

Review: Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 8th of August 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
We Sit Down And Review Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty. It's been years in the remaking so let's see how the game holds up after all of this time I remember almost 17 years ago when Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee first arrived on my PS1. I marveled at the game's graphics and had a blast playing through the game from start to finish. Now we have the opportunity to play through once again in Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty on the PS4 and other platforms to come. Is it worth the remake or should Just Add Water and Oddworld Inhabitants just left alone and not made Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty? Read More...

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty Is Out This Week On The PS4
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 21st of July 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is being released this week and here is the launch trailer for the game Talk about one of the best blasts from the past coming to PS4. Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is the most recent HD remastering for Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee and it is releasing tomorrow (7/22) on the PS4 in the North American region. Wednesday (7/23) for all those EU regional people and TBA this year for everyone else who wants to replay one of the games that started my next-gen-now-way-last-gen gaming love. That would be back on the PS1 days back in 1997. Read More...

See How Beautiful Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty Looks In The E3 Trailer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of June 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty gets a new E3 trailer to show off how beautiful the HD remake is looking up until now While I am not always the biggest fan of the "HD remake" after seeing the following trailer I can fully get behind Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty here. As memory serves the original Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee looked spectacular using today's standards as a guide. At least if you could take what was on our standard resolution TVs back then and properly upscale it for our new high resolution/4K TVs. We all know that wouldn't look well at all if that was all that was going to be done for New 'N' Tasty. Read More...

Story Time: Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 21st of November 2013 - 05:57 PM ]
Looks Like Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee Is Getting The HD Make Over With Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty. Here's The Story Trailer And Some Proof I remember way back in 1997 when I first spun up Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee in my PS One. At the time I thought it was the pinnacle of graphics and fun story telling. Now it looks like we are getting a HD rendition of some sort with Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty. From what I remember of the original and see below in the story trailer it is the same in most ways. But that is to be expected from a full remake am I right? Read More...

Review: Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 2nd of January 2012 - 02:17 AM ]
I'm not one for re-makes or "re-imagining" when it comes to video games. I think that it shows a lack of innovation in the industry when developers should really be pushing forward. It is how I feel and there won't be much changing of my mind in this area. So you could only imagine how I felt when I heard that Just Add Water was "upgrading" Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath to be a whole new HD version. Why "upgrade" instead of make something new for the developer? Now that I have that out of the way, just like when God Of War got the HD treatment, I see why they chose to do this six years later. Bring On The Stranger's Wrath To Oddworld
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of September 2010 - 11:38 PM ]
Just about six years in the waiting, PlayStation owners will finally get their chance to play Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. Not only play it, but play it the way we are told it should have been played all along: with 720p graphics and PlayStation Move support. Just the way I expected to play the game back in 2005 when Oddworld Inhabitants brought it to market on the XBox. I loved Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee. I would probably love a collector's edition like the God of War Collection of all of the Oddworld Inhabitants titles, but that is a dream I would assume is way off in the future. Read More...
