This Week In Video Games 12/11/17 — 12/15/17
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 16th of December 2017 - 12:00 AM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week One more week of video games down for the year and only a few more to go. So much we all want to know out there and so much that the developers and publishers just will not give us. At least not give us so we do not spoil any of those video games out there. God Of War and Far Cry 5 could become unplayable if we had everything spoiled for us right out of the gate. Read More...

Darksiders III Will Take Us To The Hollows To Fight Lava Beasts
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 15th of December 2017 - 10:00 PM ]
Darksiders A new gameplay snippet for Darksiders III is here and shows us a new location in Darksiders III and other creatures we will need to take down We finally have a bit more for Darksiders III to take a look at here as it seems like Gunfire Games has been a bit on the quiet side of things for the title lately. That or it has been THQ Nordic holding things back for unspecified reasons to build more anticipation for their game. Nonetheless, here we are with another small glimpse of the game with some more actual gameplay. Read More...

It Is Time To Take On The Adventures Of Gunslinger Joe In Wolfenstein II
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 15th of December 2017 - 06:00 PM ]
Wolfenstein The first ‘episode’ of Wolfenstein II’s DLC is here to give us more of the other resistance fighters we have seen or heard of in Wolfenstein II already While I am sure that a good portion of you out there will be checking out Star Wars here, that does not discount the fact that Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus's first full DLC "episode" has been dropped out there in the wilds. If anything it will be a nice "go back to" after you get back to your games and have a chance to see how Machine Games is carrying on the continued killing of Nazi Scum with the previously mentioned Gunslinger Joe. Previously mentioned in the episode zero of Wolfenstein II that you may have enjoyed for free already, but also in the headline here and other marketing videos that have been out there. Read More...

Start Planning All Of Your Strategies & Skills For Extinction
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 14th of December 2017 - 10:00 PM ]
Extinction The latest gameplay trailer for Extinction is here and it gives us all a good look at how we will have to tackle different enemies in Extinction It has been a good while since we saw anything for Extinction and now seems like as good of a time as any to check back in and see just where Iron Galaxy is with the game. I know they have been working hard on it and were making this already impressive title look and feel even more so for when it lands next Spring for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. We have had a bit of the gameplay so far for Extinction, or at least what Maximum Games wanted out there, and this gave us a nice look at some of the core gameplay and armors that the Ravenii will be wearing to make things a bit harder for us to just kill them quickly. The Inpatient Is Aiming To Bring You Deeper Into The Immersion
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 14th of December 2017 - 06:00 PM ]
The Inpatient A new behind the scenes video for The Inpatient is here to show us just how much further into the experience The Inpatient will take us besides just VR It is no surprise that games like The Inpatient are aiming to give us all the best immersion that we can hope for on the PS VR. That is kind of one of the things that VR is all about, but it looks like there was a lot more for this game than Supermassive Games had to show earlier on. At least out of the demos I have played, but come January 23rd it looks like we are all going to have even more reasons to give The Inpatient a go as they have many other hidden gems mixed in to bring the immersion level to an all-time high. At least for this title and on the PS4, but still it is a pretty solid feat to have accomplished when you look at it. Read More...

The Shadow Of The Colossus Remake Has Gone A Long Way
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 13th of December 2017 - 10:00 PM ]
Shadow Of The Colossus We have a new comparison video for Shadow Of The Colossus to show just how much work the remaster of Shadow Of The Colossus has been given More footage for Shadow Of The Colossus has been placed out there and placed out there to make sure that we all know how much work Bluepoint Games has put into making this the best version of the game to date. That would have always been the assumption for a remake or a remaster of any game, but now we get to see it all with our own eyes. That and we get to see just how Shadow Of The Colossus truly looked back on the PS2 and PS3 days there and then long for the day that it hits the PS4. Read More...

All Hope May Not Be Lost In Metro Exodus
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 12th of December 2017 - 06:00 PM ]
Metro Exodus A new trailer for Metro Exodus shows how hope may not be lost in the game's universe and also maybe the release date for Metro Exodus During The Game Awards we had a nice new look at Metro Exodus and a bit more of how the game's world has progressed from where we last left it and all of the horrors that laid within. Things have always been bleak in the world that 4A Games has brought to life in this FPS, but this latest trailer looks to give us all a little bit of hope. At least that seems to be the theme here in this trailer and whether or not that is true, we at least get a fun new look at Metro Exodus and just what is going on. Read More...

See How Successful We Can Be In Detroit: Become Human
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 11th of December 2017 - 10:00 PM ]
Detroit Another gameplay walkthrough for Detroit: Become Human happened during the PSX and we get to see the devs be successful in Detroit: Become Human There was no chance of having the PlayStation Experience this year without adding in the fun of Detroit: Become Human. Especially with it still slated to release during the first half of 2018 as long as there are no hiccups for Quantic Dream or anything. It is still possible, but that does not change the fact that there was a chance to check out the same old game demo we have been getting since E3 for Detroit: Become Human. The big twist here is that the team showed off a more successful version of the demo that they have in the past. Read More...

MediEvil Is Officially Getting A Remaster For The PS4
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 11th of December 2017 - 08:00 PM ]
MediEvil It looks like a proper MediEvil remaster is coming as a 4K version of MediEvil was announced during this year's PlayStation Experience Back in 2015, rumors began to circle that there was a MediEvil remake or remaster in the works when a video popped up online showing just that. Everyone swarmed to it thinking it was the case but as it turned out this was just a fan remaking a level in Unreal 4 for fun and not something that Sony was officially working on for the PS4. It was sad to see that, but this version of MediEvil looked amazing and rekindled a lot of hope of getting a new title out of all of it. As it turns out, that excitement and interest was noticed as we are now getting a full remaster of the game on the PS4 sometime in 2018 now. Read More...

Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Review — Minecraft: Story Mode — Jailhouse Block
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 6th of December 2017 - 10:00 PM ]
Minecraft We sit down and review Minecraft: Story Mode — Jailhouse Block. This is the third episode of Telltale's second take on Mojang's famed Minecraft franchise. Here's our review on how they did The story continues for Jesse and crew as the third episode of Minecraft: Story Mode is underway for us. It has been a weird ride for us yet again with this game and season, but here we go with yet one more episode in the mix. No doubt, this should be one of the ones that set things up for the future if it goes along the path of other Telltale Games' titles out there, but that could be in the next episode as well. The Final Core Episode Of Life Is Strange: Before The Storm Is Almost Here
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 6th of December 2017 - 08:00 PM ]
Life Is Strange The third and final episode of Life Is Strange: Before The Storm is coming soon to wrap up the events leading to Life Is Strange in general Get ready to wrap up the base story for Life Is Strange: Before The Storm here in a few weeks as we now have a release date and trailer for the third and final episode for the game. Or at least the final episode in terms of the story that Deck Nine Games set out to do with this game and not just the extra content that is coming next year to better bridge this and the core game. Yes, that all sounds weird to say and it is weird to type, but that is just how it is until Square Enix goes out and funds even more of Life Is Strange to be made or just puts it in a folder somewhere. Another Portal Game Is Kind Of Coming With Bridge Constructor Portal
by Duke Searles [ Wednesday, 6th of December 2017 - 06:00 PM ]
Portal Get ready to use those Portal guns again as it looks like that franchise has crossed with another to bring us Bridge Constructor Portal It has been a while since we had anything truly new for the Portal franchise in terms of a full game. It is crazy to think that it has been six years since the last full entry into the IP and at most, we have had little links back and forth with characters, items, and Easter Eggs to entice us all a bit more. If you are like me, you are sitting there hoping for a full new title into the franchise, but for now we are going to have to sit and take games like what Headup Games has for us here. Now we have Bridge Constructor Portal to look at and get another taste of the IP through their other game's mechanics but with all the fun GlaDOS and Aperture bring to the world. Read More...
