Been Jonesing For Triple Triad? Eminence: Xander's Tales Has You Covered
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 20th of June 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
Eminence: Xander's Tales is a new MMORPG/TCG is coming that will bring back the fun of Triple Triad and then some If there is one thing I loved about Final Fantasy 8 it was Triple Triad and it looks like it is making a comeback with Eminence: Xander's Tales. Yep, the best feature of one game is becoming the sole mechanic behind another game, at least in a close enough way that there shouldn't be any legal battles; hopefully. It's not like Aeterna Studios is using any of the assets here, just some of the basic mechanics to fuel the gameplay along to hopefully give us a story as it is also slated as a MMORPG. I know you want to see Eminence in action a little bit so I'll give you a gameplay trailer here just so you can get all those nostalgic juices flowing in your system. Read More...

In The Mix Of E3 We Kind Of Missed The Doom 4 Teaser Trailer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 20th of June 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
There was a Doom 4 teaser released during E3 but the full reveal is slated for QuakeCon. We have that teaser though If there is one thing that I hate about E3 it is that we all get so busy that things like the new Doom 4 teaser trailer falls through the cracks and doesn't get its 15 minutes of fame. I almost missed it in the mix of all the emails and social media posts. Lucky enough for all of us that I caught it and was able to place it in memory to show off after all the madness had ended. Do You Want To See What Was Shown Off For The Phantom Pain At E3?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 20th of June 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Early on the 19th of June, Konami and Hideo Kojima showed off the closed doors demo for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Good news for all of you who didn't want to take the time to read through my Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain impressions from E3. It looks like Konami and Kojima wanted to cater to all of you who don't have the time to read through some heartfelt words letting you know what I saw for the game. They have just released the 30+ minute demo that was shown at E3 that many never had a chance to even see. Good news for you but bad for me as my words are falling on blind eyes now. Read More...

E3 2014 Impressions: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of June 2014 - 09:20 PM ]
While at E3 I got to see Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in a more intimate setting than just the trailer. Here's my take on it All of the teases and short shows of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain can all be put aside now as we were given a new and nice look at the game and features that have yet to be announced or shown in a public form. It also kind of puts the whole demo thing for Ground Zeroes to the side as with what was shown here at E3 was considerably more and with a demo you should get all of the game's mechanics and features. Yes the core running, stealth, and shooting are all the same but here is what we didn't get to play before but will once The Phantom Pain launches. Read More...

Here Is A Short Tease Of What Will Be Shown At E3 For Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 5th of June 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
Hideo Kojima gives us a minute and a half tease of what we will be seeing for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain out of E3 next week There has been no shortage of teases that we would be getting a small look at Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain before E3. Those have only been followed by the news of how big and "hard to watch" the actual gameplay footage at E3 will actually be. As a man of his word, Hideo Kojima has given us just that with the following teaser video showing nothing but gameplay for The Phantom Pain. The biggest thing to take away here is that we will be back to hiding in cardboard boxes again. Read More...

This Week In Gaming 5/27/14 — 5/30/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 30th of May 2014 - 11:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming. As we are heading into E3 here it is surprising how many game announcements or updates in the world of gaming there have been. Even with the short week here in the States it has been crazy busy in terms of keeping up with everything going on. Are the developers or publishers keeping anything hidden for the convention coming up here? If they are not keeping the gaming announcements quiet then I hope that means more on the floor to actually play. Read More...

Review: The Walking Dead: Season 2 — In Harm's Way
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 21st of May 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
We Sit Down And Review The Walking Dead Season 2 - In Harm's Way. It's The Third Episode. Does It Keep The Steamroller Of A Franchise Rolling? Here we go with the hump section of The Walking Dead: Season 2. We've hit the midsection of this season for the game and it should be 'all downhill' from here. Pun intended and hopeful. There is a lot riding on the season as well as the franchise here but has it fully delivered? Read More...

This Week In Gaming 5/12/14 — 5/16/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 16th of May 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming. It is time to wrap yet another week of gaming news and there has been some great and fun news to lead into the weeks of silence before E3. Soon we will have nothing more than a few little tidbits to speculate on or hope for until we get full announcements and details. I'm sure we will most likely see 'leaked' information come out that will come to pass like the Halo 5: Guardians announcement but to keep things fun until June I hope they stay few. None the less we have had some cool new stuff for Dragon Age: Inquisition and Watch_Dogs come out to hype us all up for our future gaming needs. Read More...

Review: Bound By Flame
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 14th of May 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
We Sit Down And Review Bound By Flame. It is an interesting fantasy romp but is it worth the time and money? Here we go with Bound By Flame. A new fantasy themed, third person, action game from Spiders and Focus Home Interactive. Sounds so weird say that this game was brought to us from Spiders. Either may, I got the opportunity to sit back and take a fun romp through the game's world killing off all of the creatures that society has deemed "need to die." It is a bit of hack 'n' slash and DnD story-like but does it give you enough fun to keep you playing? Well, as usual, let me break it down for you. Read More...

There Is Still Hope For Another Darksiders Title To Come To Light
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 12th of May 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Joe Madureira, former Creative Director for Darksiders, has indicated that the franchise is not dead. To all of you Darksiders fans out there it looks like there is still hope for another title in the franchise even though the original publisher has gone the way of the Dodo. According to Joe Madureira, you will know him as the Creative Director for Darksiders, "Nordic Games seems very committed to continuing the series." At least this was part of a recent Facebook posting from the former Creative Director. So that pretty much means that there is a great possibility and nothing set in stone as of yet. Read More...
