Relationship between violent videogames and real-life aggression
by Aaron BlueWolf72 Molloy [ Wednesday, 21st of May 2008 - 05:15 AM ]
A new study seems to show that there is no relationship between violent videogames and real-life aggression. From ScienceDaily: Writing May 14 in the International Journal of Liability and Scientific Enquiry, Patrick Kierkegaard of the University of Essex, England, suggests that there is scant scientific evidence that video games are anything but harmless and that they do not lead to real world aggression. Moreover, his research shows that previous work is biased towards the opposite conclusion. Read More...

by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 6th of May 2008 - 10:53 PM ]
Debuting today is the official Gameplay Trailer of Mirror's Edge from EA developer DICE. It shows off the acrobatics of the lead character, Faith, who is a runner for criminal organizations. The basis of the story is she is trying to free her sister who is imprisoned by the totalitarian government that is pursuing her during her exploits. Routes are easily spotted by the color red, yet there isn't always one route you can take to get to your destiniation. Also the game allows you to defend yourself in a variety of ways, as you can utilize weapons taken from your attackers, or never use a weapon and find other means of defeating anyone in your way. New TF2 achievements - Fair or Foe?
by Stephanie Naboshek [ Monday, 5th of May 2008 - 11:12 PM ]
With the upgrades to Medic and the introduction to the new achievement system in TF2 - The Medic has been the first class to receive the honor of earning achievements and upgrades. However, have the developers given the medic too much power? If you've been playing some TF2 lately, odds are you've noticed an increase in the amount of medics playing, players uber-charged and people just not dying. Although the new upgrades have helped to turn the game play up a notch - I've began to notice that like with many games, players have found a loop hole in the system and it seems practically impossibly to kill a freaking medic!  Double Uber - when two medic uber-charge themselves - is by far one of the most frustrating things I've come to witness. More "Real" Art
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 30th of April 2008 - 04:07 PM ]
Artist Rendition Of Pikachu Nursing Maybe it is just me, but I enjoy seeing these "realistic" artist renditions of imaginary characters. Check out my other Narticle about the others. They are just really fun to see. Bet you never thought that Pikachu breed like a normal animal and such. Maybe Nintendo should incorporate some scenes like these in later releases. At least once the fans of the game grow up and such. Much like how the Harry Potter books got darker and darker as the audience was suppose to be older. Read More...

2009 Movie PWNage Or Not
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 28th of April 2008 - 08:55 PM ]
Dragonball Teaser Poster So all you DBZ fans out there, looks like 20th Century Fox could be starting the promotions for the new live action film. As the movie poster thumb shows. Oh, let me say that the date on the side is not the release date for the film, just the date that this poster was found. Still no official word on if it is real or a fan made one based off the Japanese one that has been spread amongst the interwebs. Who knows any more in the day of photoshop where even real images look like they are photoshop fakes. Read More...

Artist PWN Classic Views
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 28th of April 2008 - 03:58 PM ]
Realistically Painted Bowser So it looks like it is becoming a big new fun thing to redo some classic characters and make them look real. That is, photoshop a person to have the actual body type of say Mario or Homer Simpson. If you haven't seen them ye, I will warn you that they are kind of creepy to look at. Just think how a real person would look if they had their proportions and brace yourself. This new one though is a nicely painted version of how Bowser would look if he was actually in the real world. Read More...
