This Week In Video Games 7/4/16 — 7/8/16
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 8th of July 2016 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here's a recap of what we covered in the world of video games One more week in video games is in the bad now and it has been another fun one. We were able to see Evolve go free-to-play, how South Park is taking comedy serious here, and also a whole bunch of new Battlefield 1 gameplay to tide us over for a bit. We also had the chance to review three more video games here this week with some highs and some lows. It pains me to see horrible game reviews but then again it is our job to tell the developers when they have given us trash and when they have given us gold. Read More...

Paragon's Next Hero Is About To Join The Fight To Die
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 7th of July 2016 - 09:00 PM ]
Paragon The next hero to join Paragon is Greystone and we get to see him fight and die in Paragon only to come back and save the day The next and newest hero to come to Paragon has just been shown off and slated to come with the July 12th update for the game. I've said it before but it looks like Epic Games is really keeping to their schedule and now we have so many more characters on the list since the initial five we were shown back during the announcement of the game. I am curious when it will stop but for now we get to see Paragon's Greystone who is joining the fight on the battle field. Not only that but bringing something we've yet to see in the game. Check Out Some New Dominating Battlefield 1 Gameplay
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 7th of July 2016 - 05:00 PM ]
Battlefield 1 Some new gameplay for Battlefield 1 has been released out of the closed alpha for Battlefield 1 and it shows off the Domination mode of the game If you have been pining for some new Battlefield 1 gameplay footage and have yet to have had personal access to the closed alpha for the game, then you are in luck. Of course some players out at E3 had the chance to play the game and DICE have given us all a closed beta. It also looks like EA hasn't been too stingy on allowing others to post gameplay of Battlefield 1 online. Read More...

Review — Deadlight: Director's Cut
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 6th of July 2016 - 09:00 PM ]
Deadlight We sit down and review Deadlight: Director's Cut. It's another remaster for a game that didn't get much love before. Here's our review of Deadlight: Director's Cut It's only been a short four years and now we have Deadlight: Director's Cut landing on the PS4 and Xbox One after a nice stint on the 360 and PC. This would be Tequila Works' side-scrolling zombie adventure that aims to focus on story more than just exploding brains. It was decently received the first time around but now we have a more definitive edition of the game here now with all of the extra mixed in that the original Deadlight just didn't have. Read More...

Here's A Red Dead Redemption Update But Not Exactly What We Hoped For
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 5th of July 2016 - 09:00 PM ]
Red Dead Redemption The latest game to hit the Xbox One backwards compatibility program is Red Dead Redemption and it doesn't matter which version of Red Dead Redemption you own to have access Leading up to E3 and well before that we had a lot of "leaks" and news about something related to Red Dead Redemption coming soon. A lot of us thought that this was all to lead up to Rockstar Games announcing a sequel to the original title but as that time has come and gone it looks like we'll have to wait longer. What we won't have to wait for is the original Red Dead Redemption to hit the Xbox One as Take-Two Interactive is allowing it to head to the system via the backwards compatibility program that has been set up. Time To Claim Your Inheritance As Layers Of Fear Gets Story DLC
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 1st of July 2016 - 09:00 PM ]
Layers Of Fear A new Layers Of Fear experience is upon us as we have the first bit of DLC called Layers Of Fear: Inheritance that will expand more on the original story If you didn't get enough Layers Of Fear back when it first launched and then came to consoles, then it looks like good news is coming for you. It turns out that Bloober Team and Aspyr Media have been working on a bit of DLC for the game and it adds a whole new story into the mix. Yes, we are getting more story for the game as Layers Of Fear: Inheritance is coming this August for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC version of the game and it aims to expand more on the overall story as well as give us a little closure on things…maybe… All we have as of now is that Layers Of Fear: Inheritance will be continuing the story of the original game only that this time it will be from the perspective of the protagonist's daughter. Left 4 Dead 3 Might Have Just Been Revealed On Accident
by Julia Schoebel [ Thursday, 30th of June 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
Left 4 Dead 3 We may be shown that Left 4 Dead 3 is coming to us sometime as Left 4 Dead 3 was spotted on an employee's computer in some way If rumors and speculation are true it looks like Left 4 Dead 3 may be on its way here in some time. That time is still up in the air if it is truly being worked on but as it looks an employee has been spotted over at Valve with a directory structure showing files that point to the game being in production. Of course this doesn't dictate that Left 4 Dead 3 is going to be a solid release here in the developer's portfolio but it does kind of lend to it being in the works. Especially given all of the other weirdness that happen to be going on along with this supposed leak of the game. Read More...

Detroit: Become Human Has More To Offer Out Of The E3 Demo
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 29th of June 2016 - 05:00 PM ]
Detroit A new behind the scenes video for Detroit: Become Human has been released and it takes us deeper into how Detroit is being built to give us a rich experience I won't deny that Detroit: Become Human had me hooked way back when the first teaser for the game popped up as Kara. Hopefully you remember way back when she and the teaser for the game came out when Quantic Dream showed here off last year. It will make the rest of this a bit easier and also make sure you know of one of the other main characters we will be playing in Detroit when it launches on the PS4. A second protagonist was announced during E3 as we were given a nice little demo of the gameplay. Read More...

Return To Arkham It has just been reported that Batman: Return To Arkham has been delayed with now release date in sight for when we'll Return To Arkham in this collection Back in May we were given a nice little surprise that we were getting a Batman: Return To Arkham bundle. This was a HD remaster of the other two Rocksteady Games titles that never made it to the PS4 and Xbox One. Not only that but the announcement came that Warner Bros. was going to give us this Return To Arkham bundle on July 26th. Read More...

Death Stranding's Teaser Trailer Looks To Have Details Hidden Within
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 27th of June 2016 - 09:00 PM ]
Death Stranding It looks like Death Stranding, the huge reveal from Kojima, has a whole lot more hidden in the trailer than just Death Stranding's title, character, and themes During the PlayStation press conference and the entire week of E3 Death Stranding was one of the bigger games making a buzz throughout the show floor. Just as it should have been. As it turns out though it looks like there was more to it than we thought as Hideo Kojima, and Kojima Productions really, wanted just that. Read More...

Observer Is A New Cyberpunk Horror Title Coming To Haunt Our Dreams
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 24th of June 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
Observer Another new title, Observer, was announced during E3 and we have some gameplay for Observer to look upon and get ready for the fear It's games like Observer that make me want to see E3 get spread over a few more days than the short few that we do get. You may or may not have heard of its announcement during the PC Gaming show but here we go with the next major title out of Bloober Team. They would be known the best for Layers Of Fear; another horror title set in a specific timeline but here we go into s cyberpunk setting for Observer. They knocked it out the park before but can they catch lightning in a bottle again with their horror? Read More...

The Walking Dead Season 3 Is Coming & Bringing A Familiar Face
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 22nd of June 2016 - 09:00 PM ]
The Walking Dead The first teaser trailer for The Walking Dead's third season has been revealed and it looks like The Walking Dead is jumping forward in time but keeping fan favorites If you were able to pay full attention to everything out of E3 then this may be old news to you but for those who were overloaded with news, then you may have missed that The Walking Dead season three is slated to start up sometime this Fall. Not only that but we have a nice little trailer out of Telltale Games and a few little tidbits on the game directly. Given the success of The Walking Dead in general it shouldn't have been that big of a shocker to see the third season coming but in this season it looks like the surprises are more in the game than that it is coming. E3 2016 Impressions — Watch Dogs 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 21st of June 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
Watch Dogs 2 While at E3 I was able to see Watch Dogs 2 in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Watch Dogs 2 One of the worst kept secrets of E3, Watch Dogs 2, was fully revealed and then shown off again on the show floor. Thankfully instead of trying to play cover up on all of it Ubisoft chose to embrace the reveal and gave us our first, second, third, and even fourth look at the game during their press conference and then when the door officially opened for the day. Watch Dogs 2 definitely was the talk of the show and thankfully I was able to sit down and get a closer look at the demos and gameplay offered up to us all. All in a nice little hidden room with the sounds of the booth bumping and drowning out the experience. Read More...

E3 2016 Impressions — Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 21st of June 2016 - 05:00 PM ]
Deus Ex While at E3 I was able to see Deus Ex: Mankind Divided in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Another huge title I know I was personally looking forward to during my voyage to E3 was Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Ever since the first time Eidos-Montreal fist announced it a while back I was stoked and ready to see how far they progressed the rebooted franchise given the greatness of Human Revolution. Thankfully Square Enix had Deus Ex: Mankind Divided in the mix of titles they were showing off and I was able to spy a nice long video demo of the game. Given that it releases on August 23rd for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC it felt a bit on the final stages so I am certain these formed thoughts will be up to snuff. Read More...

E3 2016 Impressions — Injustice 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 17th of June 2016 - 02:00 PM ]
Injustice 2 While at E3 I was able to see Injustice 2 in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Injustice 2 It was "leaked" and then we got some gameplay to look at just before E3 but I was able to sit down and actually have a good look at Injustice 2 on the show floor. It wasn't anything playable sadly but it was gameplay where NetherRealm Studios went into all the ins and outs of the updates and changes that will be coming. Not only that but we had a look at a few of the new characters coming to Injustice 2 here when it launches next year for the PS4 and Xbox One. It does look like the PC is taking a back seat on this one given all of the pitfalls that Warner Bros. Read More...
