Spectre Looks Like Stay Alive But For Real
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 18th of March 2014 - 09:02 PM ]
Here is some new footage of Spectre, a Kickstarter virtual reality horror multiplayer game using the Oculus Rift. Looks like it could be creepy… It's hard to believe that it has only been eight years since the film Stay Alive came out and there really hasn't been a video game made to try and copy it. Even as I write this article I have yet to hear of anything. That was until I heard about a new game called Spectre. Read More...

Hear The Level Of Detail In The Audio For inFAMOUS Second Son
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 18th of March 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
A New Trailer For inFAMOUS Second Son Has Emerged But This Time The Focus Is On The Sounds And Not The Sights. Have A Listen. We are so close to the launch of inFAMOUS Second Son and all anyone has really talked about is how great the game looks and the amazing powers we are going to get to wield. There are so many other aspects that we take for granted when it comes to our games so why don't we take a moment and hear our games. In this case we are talking about how specifically the audio was designed and implemented in the game to add that wonderful extra little spice to add to the fun. I'll let the guys from Sucker Punch explain how the audio direction went in inFAMOUS Second Son but I want to note some very specific things. Read More...

How Fast Can You Beat Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 18th of March 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes was always claimed to be short. But ten minutes short? Check it out. There has been no big secret that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is a short game. The length lent itself to the lower price for the game as well as the lack of a platinum trophy in the end game. That said, would you believe that it can be beaten in about ten minutes? Yes, I said ten minutes. Read More...

Can We Cut To An Official Fallout Film Now?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 17th of March 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
Another 'fan film' for the Fallout universe has surfaced, Fallout Lost/Found. Here's what is known. It's been a bit since we had a 'fan film' service to Fallout with Nuka Break so I guess it is time for another with Fallout Lost/Found. What is Fallout Lost/Found? Yet another fan short that will be making the rounds keeping all Fallout fans clamoring for a full on feature film or maybe an episodic show the likes of The Walking Dead. That sounds like I am not interested or excited to see this unfold but I am. I am just hopeful that Bethesda would have taken all of the fan love and give them what they apparently want. Read More...

Classic Arcade Game Gauntlet Is Getting A Remake This Summer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 17th of March 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
The classic arcade, button mashing game Gauntlet is getting a 2014 remake this summer. We have the announcement trailer and everything. Some of you may be too young to remember Gauntlet in classic arcades. Hells, you may be too young to remember classic arcades as well. I do and Warner Bros hopes that some of our readers will as well because that is one of the things they are trying to capitalize on with Gauntlet. For those who still have no clue and haven't Googled the game yet let me break it down. In a nut shell Gauntlet was an insanely fun fantasy hack and slash title from Atari in the 80's. Read More...

This Week In Gaming 3/10/14 — 3/14/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 14th of March 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming. This has really been the week of reviews in gaming hasn't it? We reviewed Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow 2, The Walking Dead — S2E2, South Park: The Stick Of Truth, and Race The Sun. There are still more in the pipe at that but it has been one crazy week of reviews for all of you to ingest and get our informed opinion about the games that matter right now. Reviews aside, there have been some interesting developments for Mirror's Edge 2 and Tales From The Borderlands at that. I still can't believe that there is a rumor that ME2 is going to reboot the entire franchise yet still carry the numbered title. Read More...

Game Rentals On The PSN And Not Through PlayStation Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 14th of March 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
It appears that there is a rental option on the PSN now and we are not talking about the PlayStation Now service. Back in January we first heard about PlayStation Now and about how we would be able to rent games or have a Netflix style service for our PS3's and PS4's. What we are talking about here is not the PlayStation Now service at all. In fact it was something that was randomly found and reported via twitter. Also it is only for one current title on the PSN. It's Time To Get All Nostalgic For Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 14th of March 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
It may not be anything new but we have the intro cinematic for Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster. Well for Final Fantasy X HD Remaster at least. With Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster landing next week (3/18/14) on the PS3 it is time to get all nostalgic for the game that came out in 2001. Final Fantasy X to be a bit more specific here as below we have the intro cinematic for the game with all of the new ads for the HD collection. Just to make sure that some of you younger readers know this is a full CGI trailer that is pretty much the exact same that came out in 2001 and not something new for Final Fantasy X due to updates. Given that though, it is still damn impressive and one of my favorite intros to a game in general. Read More...

Who Wants To See How They Are Creating Alien Isolation?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 13th of March 2014 - 07:03 PM ]
There is a new trailer for Alien Isolation rife with pre-alpha footage as well as the overall goal of Creative Assembly for the franchise. I guess the answer to the above Alien Isolation question is you. You want to see it and we have it for you. Granted there isn't much new in the way of footage from the game but what we have more of is Creative Assembly's vision for Alien Isolation. Not the whole thing but enough to make any gamer a little more excited about a new Alien title given the folly of the previously release game that will not be mentioned. You can take a quick look but as usual I will give you a bit of the break down so you don't have to be glued to the screen trying to get the details and just plain enjoy yourself. Read More...

Review: Race The Sun
by Kenton Winkfield [ Thursday, 13th of March 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
We sit down and review Race The Sun from Flippfly on Steam. What's more fun than a futile high speed chase to keep yourself from dying? The gentlemen at Flippfly have given us just that with Race The Sun, a simple yet difficult racing game where you must avoid walls, spires, fish, blocks, and even shadows to delay your imminent death. Flippfly is an indie game studio that was started by two brothers in 2012. Their experience in both web design and video game programming has led them to create amazing works of video gaming art that haven't been seen before. Read More...

So… PlayStation Home Is Finally Getting The Trophy Treatment
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 12th of March 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
It looks like PlayStation Home is finally getting trophies added via a new update. We have a list of what will pop for most of us on next sign in. So this has been a long time coming but PlayStation Home is getting trophy support. It seems odd that it took this long for it to happen but I guess there needs to be some draw to keep firing up the PS3 besides the games, music, and movies. I guess it is more to keep the draw to the service that never got up and running to well and is probably losing steam as it has yet to grace the PS4. Either way the trophies have come for PlayStation Home. Read More...

Titanfall Vs inFAMOUS Second Son
by Dakota B. Johnson [ Wednesday, 12th of March 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
Let Us See How These Two Exclusives Titles, Titanfall and inFAMOUS Second Son, Fair When They Go Head To Head. Obviously both are heavy hitters for their respective consoles coming out this month. In the case of Titanfall being released (3/11/14); I find it to be a very interesting time seeing two console exclusives coming out in the same month. I also find it very fun to speculate on things concerning the two. Not to put one over the other or choose a side, but just to compare the two. Read More...

Rumor Mill: New Mirror’s Edge 2 Details
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 12th of March 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Some new Mirror’s Edge 2 rumors have surfaced online. They are unverified but lets take a look at them. So many "leaks" lately and this time we have some new leaked info for Mirror’s Edge 2. Yea, Mirror’s Edge 2. A game that many gamers, myself included, have been waiting for while EA and DICE had been coy about until last year's E3 when it was announced and they were still coy about everything. Well is would seem that someone over at Rocket Chainsaw claims to have some new insider information that they can confirm. EA and DICE obviously, like every other publisher/developer out there, do not comment on rumors and speculation. Read More...

Review: South Park: The Stick Of Truth
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 11th of March 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
We Sit Down And Review South Park The Stick of Truth. Was it worth the delays and the hype? Is this their Magnum Opus? The moment has arrived, finally. South Park: The Stick Of Truth has finally launched and I have had the chance to give the turn-based-RPG a good play. Matt and Trey were hoping that they wouldn't be getting a 4/10 on Gamespot or any other crappy reviews for the game. How do you think they fared? Let me break it down for you and let you know what I think and if it is worth your time and money. Read More...
