There has been no big secret that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is a short game. The length lent itself to the lower price for the game as well as the lack of a platinum trophy in the end game. That said, would you believe that it can be beaten in about ten minutes? Yes, I said ten minutes. It would take me longer to cook chicken nuggets in the oven than it would to beat Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes it would seem. Granted this all comes with some very specific caveats.
In all reality Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is longer than ten minutes but if you look below the fine folks at Eurogamer.net have done just that. Yes they had to skip every cut scene, side mission, and exploration. They also played through a few times to know the direct path through each area. So this should be titled more of a speed run and not a testament to how truly short Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes could be. I've beaten God Of War in less than three hours knowing everything to look for and do so this isn't all that shocking.
I am still very excited to get my hands on Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes given the fact that I have seen the entire main story of the game in the video below. Also, this video didn't play the game as intended either. Metal Gear is a tactical espionage franchise and not a run and gun kind of thing. The real challenge is in getting through the game without any of the AI ever knowing you were there. That would take about eighteen minutes at least because I've seen that floating around the web today as well. I also jest.
Without further adieu here is one of the faster speed runs of Ground Zeroes out there right now. Spoiler alert for those who are still too dense to understand that you will be seeing the entire main mission of the game below if you click play. Do enjoy and let us know if you still plan on picking up Ground Zeroes today (3/18/14).
