This Week In Gaming 5/5/14 — 5/9/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 9th of May 2014 - 11:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming. There we have yet another exciting week in gaming here. All kinds of news seemed to crop up even though most have claimed it to be a very slow news week. We have managed to dig up enough to keep the news and excitement trains rolling for many titles out there. That includes some rather large titles like Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Watch_Dogs. It also includes some smaller like Amplitude and the cancelled World Of Darkness MMO. Read More...

Looking To Play The Elder Scrolls Online With Your Console? You'll Be Waiting
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 9th of May 2014 - 09:01 PM ]
The Elder Scrolls Online console version has been delayed for another six months but with a few small perks. It looks like we can add the console version of The Elder Scrolls Online to the list of delayed games this week. It looks like ZeniMax Online and Bethesda have deemed that they need another six months to get the PS4 and XB1 versions of the game up to snuff for us all. The better news here over the prior delay of Dying Light is that this delay is all based on the server issues for the MMO title and not any actual gameplay. That is at least good news. Read More...

Sad News As Dying Light Has Been Delayed Until February 2015
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 9th of May 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
Dying Light has been pushed back a few months now to better improve core aspects of the game. I could have sworn that Dying Light looked to be nearing the end of its development road. Even back when I first saw the demo at E3 last year the game seriously looked like it could have made an October 2013 release date if Techland and Warner Bros. truly pushed. Obviously they did not and now it would seem that is a good thing as even under the normal development cycle has left things wanting. Read More...

The Walking Dead Season Two Episode 3 Will Be Out Next Week
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 9th of May 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
The Walking Dead Season Two Episode 3 has a new trailer and is slated to be on all platforms/markets next week. It boggles my mind sometimes on how Telltale likes to keep their new releases so secret until they do what they just did with The Walking Dead Season Two Episode 3. Just like all of their other titles they wait until the week before to put out a trailer for the game, claim it is coming soon, and then give a solid date for five to seven days later. I've said it before that we should be used to it but it just sticks in my craw that much that it bugs me enough to complain. For now let us get to the new trailer for The Walking Dead S2E3. No matter which you luck out today that we have a metric butt load of new visuals and in-game footage to show you for this open world shooter title. Read More...

See How The Cast Of Characters In Alien Isolation Came To Be
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 8th of May 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
A new trailer showing off how the characters of Alien Isolation were created to give the game life. Here we go with another developer diary for Alien Isolation. This time it is showing off a bit more to the story of the game as well as to how Creative Assembly created each of the characters for the game. It is no real big surprise that they used a bit of facial capture but it is cool to see that they are using the actors who gave the performance as the actual model. This isn't anything new in the industry but it usually isn't common place in a world where publishers and developers want to use big names and face. Read More...

Meet The Wild Bunch Of Watch_Dogs In The Latest Trailer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 8th of May 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
A new trailer for Watch_Dogs shows off the friends, enemies, and other people Aiden will have. We are getting closer to the release of Watch_Dogs so it is high time we get to know the other characters of the game that will not be controlled directly by you. Yea, it is time to meet the heroes, villains, and secondary characters of the game that will most likely have an impact on the overall story for us. The new trailer below is a nice montage to all of these people but they really don't say who falls into what category for Aiden. Well outside of T-Bone who has already been shown to be an ally of sorts in previous gameplay trailers or gameplay footage. Read More...

How Close To Chicago Did Watch_Dogs Go? Let Us See
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 7th of May 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
A new feature for Watch_Dogs shows how close to the real world version of Chicago the developers went. Just in case you were wondering about just what the headline asked we have a new developer video showing just that for Watch_Dogs. All of the landmarks. All of the streets. All of the alleyways. They all look to have been handled with care from start to finish. Why would we expect any less for the new franchise that Ubisoft has already set out to milk for as much as they can keep it a good game? Just like Assassin's Creed… I will say it is a bit unsettling to hear that they only doubled the number of cameras on the streets of Chicago for Watch_Dogs. Read More...

In The Wake Of World Of Darkness MMO Cancellation Comes 'Leaked' Images & Documents
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 7th of May 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
Documents and images from the canceled World Of Darkness MMO have popped up on Reddit and we have them here. I am still taken back by the cancellation of the World Of Darkness MMO from last month. I love playing the table top and LARP versions of the game system and was feverishly looking forward to the MMO coming out and no longer requiring to have to hound a bunch of friends together to play in the world. It has been taken away from us now and there is nothing to do about but hope that someday the World Of Darkness MMO might be revisited. Until then, here is a load of 'leaked' information and images to show why the cancellation was required. Read More...

The mind behind Mortal Kombat may be teasing a June 2nd event that could be another title to the franchise. There are stretch rumors and then there are really stretch rumors like this one for a new Mortal Kombat to be announced just before E3. Some eagle eyed internet users who have been paying close attention to Ed Boon's Twitter account have been piecing together the ramblings and musings of the co-creator of Mortal Kombat or stumbled upon an odd countdown to something. Here are the following tweets that have come out since May 4th. 2:33 PM - 4 May 2014 Square root of 841. Read More...

Even More Coming Out For Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 6th of May 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
Eight new screens have shown up for Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare showing even more of the future tech and world. Now that the PR train is rolling for Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare it almost feels like I should be waiting to get everything out in one big push. Then I look at what is coming and realize that most of you are most likely of the mind set of "I want it now!" That being said, I couldn't hold back the new set of screen shots for Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare even though they really don't come along with any real news or updates. They do however come along with a bunch of new things to pine over and speculate on. Read More...

Here Is A Whole Lot More H1Z1 Gameplay To Feast Your Eyes On
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 5th of May 2014 - 09:02 PM ]
SOE recently hosted a 12-hour H1Z1 livestream event and here are some of the gameplay highlights from what was shown. Some of you may have heard about and watched the H1Z1 livestream that SOE put on last week. Some of you may have missed it. The last subgroup may have caught parts of it but were unable to dedicate the entire twelve hours to watching all of the pre-alpha gameplay and development that is going into H1Z1. Personally I fell into the last group. Fear not though, we have some of the better highlights of the stream for you to catch up and stay on par as the zombie MMO moves toward a golden status. New Details Around Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare Have Emerged
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 5th of May 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
The official announcement and press release for Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare has been opened up and not leaked now. I am sure by now you have seen the Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare announcement trailer. If you were like me then you most likely may have been wondering how the visuals didn't seem to coincide with the teased in-game screen shots. After seeing the following screen shots I think I will place most of the blame on the limitations of YouTube instead of what we will actually be getting on our PCs and next-gen consoles. This is what I am talking about that has impressed with Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Read More...

Here We Go With The First Screens For Tales From The Borderlands
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 5th of May 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Telltale Games and Gearbox Software have released a small set of screen shots from their upcoming title Tales From The Borderlands. It is time for all of you Borderlands fans to lose you shit as we now have the first official screen shots for the Telltale and Gearbox collaboration Tales From The Borderlands. To be honest, they also look exactly how I imagined everything would look for the game as well. As the original announcement and showcasing presented it would look just like Borderlands 2 as far as what is on screen with a stylized version of the dialog controls Telltale uses in all of their episodic games.
