SDCC 2014 Impressions: Escape Dead Island
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 30th of July 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
While At SDCC I Got To See Escape Dead Island In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It It seems like I should have had to wait a bit longer to get a look at Escape Dead Island as it was only announced a month ago but I'll take it none the less. Especially since Escape Dead Island seems to be taking the amazing universe and changing a lot of the mechanics that we are used to and changing them or removing them to fit this new take on Dead Island. Without any further gilding the lily here, let's dig right in. For those not familiar with Escape Dead Island it is sort of an in-between-quel from Dead Island: Riptide and Dead Island 2; although all you really need to know are the basics of the universe's story to be able to hop on in. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 25th of July 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming Well this has been one crazy week in the gaming world. I blame it mostly on SDCC and all of the craziness that brings with it. It is way more than just comics and their other forms of media outlets. We've been trying to keep up with everything we can while covering all of the stuff on the show floor directly but it can get insanely overwhelming. But I am not here to complain about all of that. I am here to bring you all that gaming news I know you are craving to sink your eye balls into. Read More...

Here is a look at the Assassin's Creed Experience obstacle course set up for SDCC So if you can't make it to SDCC this week or just San Diego in general here is what that Assassin's Creed Experience is going to look like. Not only do we have an image of the course but Ubisoft has put together a nice little video showing off what convention goers will get to run though all for the fun and an exclusive shirt at the end. Here is a look at all of that Assassin's Creed Experience goodness from an aerial view. I am completely stoked that I will be able to get a chance to put my gaming skills to the real test with the Assassin's Creed Experience. Read More...

A cinematic trailer for The Walking Dead: No Man's Land has been released to announce the new tie-in game The Walking Dead franchise is still a steam roller and in a preempt for SDCC we now have The Walking Dead: No Man's Land announced. The Telltale game has been relatively amazing, the Facebook tie-in social game was ok-ish, and the other console game from what I hear was 'meh'. Now we have yet another title but this time just for mobile from Next Games and AMC. That is about all we know about The Walking Dead: No Man's Land outside of the following cinematic trailer that we have from AMC's YouTube account. Read More...

It Looks Like The Walking Dead Is Getting Insanely 'Real' Soon
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 16th of July 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
A few new screenshots have been released for The Walking Dead and it shows some rather dire scenes We have a few new screenshots for the next episode of The Walking Dead and it looks like there are going to be a few more deaths to affect us all. That is at least if we take that away from one of these new screenshots here. In this specific instance it looks like Kenny may be back on the market in the post-apocalyptic world of The Walking Dead. If it is a bite or something else is still left to the imagination of the new episode but things do not look good for the group. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 16th of July 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
Ubisoft is setting up a Parkour obstacle course for those at SDCC to hone their Assassin's Creed skills in real life It really looks like The Walking Dead Escape started something at SDCC as it looks like Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed are now bringing their real world video game experience to the convention with the Assassin's Creed Experience. What is the Assassin's Creed Experience? Well it is an obstacle course that is set up to have participants try out their parkour skills that they would need if they were part of the order of assassin's from the game. Read More...

This Week In Gaming 7/7/14 — 7/11/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 11th of July 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming There goes one more week of gaming news in the bag. It felt like a very directed week for gaming news if you do ask me but then again we give you what we get. Also when we get it…as long as it fits in our theme of gaming news here on the site. Granted not all of the news we have is 100% gaming related but that is splitting hairs where we don't need to be. Back to my "directed" comment. Read More...

What Do You Want In You Dead Island 2 Collector's Edition?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 11th of July 2014 - 07:06 PM ]
Deep Silver and Yager Development want to know what you are looking for in a Collector's Edition for Dead Island 2 If you are into collector's editions of game then you may want to pay attention here as Dead Island 2 is slated for one and Deep Silver/Yager Development want to know what you would like to see in said edition. This isn't anything new for the company as they have done it with previous titles but it is something I wished more companies did as we are the ones paying for these expensive bundles. Do we really want to leave it up to the marketing teams to tell us what kind of cool things we want in our big bundles? Read More...

This Week In Gaming 6/30/14 — 7/4/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 4th of July 2014 - 11:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming So it has been a bit on the slow side of gaming news this week but that didn't stop us from having loads to bring you. All kinds of things too. From smaller indie games to games you will be able to play in the real world instead of your normal gaming habits. I'm not talking about any of that motion control stuff that has seemed to fall completely to the sidelines. You know what I am talking about hopefully. Read More...

The Walking Dead Escape Is Again Letting Us Play A Survival Game At SDCC
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 1st of July 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
The Walking Dead Escape is coming back to San Diego Comic Con for a third year and is allowing us gamers to try to survive a zombie apocalypse game in real life If there has been one thing that has caught my love over the last few years at San Diego Comic Con it has to be The Walking Dead Escape. If you haven't seen or heard of it or seen it you can see my 2013 run and my 2012 run or you can just look around online as the event is still touring around the country giving all of us gamers a chance to test our mettle in a real live zombie apocalypse of sorts. If you are just one of those lazy people here I'll recap what the event is all about. In a nut shell they people who put on the event take over an arena, mall, or large building structure and do it and its surroundings up as if it was a location from The Walking Dead show or comic. Now We Get To Escape Dead Island While We Wait For Dead Island 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 1st of July 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Deep Silver has just announced Escape Dead Island, a third-person survival mystery take on the Dead Island franchise from Fatshark Just in case you couldn't wait for some hardcore zombie killing action in Dead Island 2 or Dying Light (Coming 2015™), Deep Silver and Fatshark are bringing us yet another zombie slaying game of sorts with Escape Dead Island. It's not just zombie killing and surviving, but also a game about solving the mystery of what caused the outbreak and keeping your own sanity in the middle of this world crushing event. Also to deviate from the normal Dead Island type of formula is that Escape Dead Island will be in third-person view and with a graphic novel art style instead of the more realistic we are used to. A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming This has been one insane week and we have tried to cover everything we could for E3 and all of the news, announcements, and everything in gaming. There is still a whole load of impressions and hands on we are still trying to churn out so you can get a feel for what you may have missed or didn't have the chance to actually play. There were fewer hands on with games in general but there was a plethora of all things we can expect in the world of gaming. We were so very lucky to have been able to sit through all of the press conferences and able to give you all the ability to watch as the gaming news came flying in. Read More...

E3 2014 Impressions: Dead Island 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of June 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Dead Island 2 In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It Ah Dead Island 2, now here is a title I can completely get behind and that was based just on the trailer that announced that the game was coming. Who doesn't like a little zombie killing action in a non-depressing yet not-over-the-top comedic way? More or less the balance between The Walking Dead and Dead Rising in terms of tone and mood. Yes, the previous titles were not all that well received but I blame that on other critics not know what is truly good for them to unwind and eviscerate. Read More...
