Looks like Naughty Dog is serious about bringing some eye-opening DLC to their blockbuster title, Uncharted 2. On the 28th of this month there is going to be an overflow of new skins to adorn your multiplayer experience. As Naughty Dog proclaimed over at the Playstation Blog, "Thanks to our friends at Guerilla Games, Insomniac Games and Sucker Punch Productions, we’ve been able to a pull off something unique within the UNCHARTED 2 competitive multiplayer modes – our first DLC release is the UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves PlayStation Heroes Skin Pack. Nay, this deals with the blood that will be spilled via two downloadable titles coming this Wednesday on XBox Live and PSN. Death by Cube (800 ($10)) is a little gem by Square Enix with a story that suggests a sweet abundance of man's most precious videogame resource, violence, "Leo is a robot, one who awakes to find that he has lost his memory. All he knows is that he must reboot the heroine robot, so he sets forth on a mission hoping to regain his memory. On December 12th of ’09, Spike TV held their 7th annual Video Games Award. The Nominees were in, the ballets were turned in and it was time to find out who won. We could go through every award, but we all know we just want to know who won the 2009 Game of the Year. Well the Nominees for Game of the Year were Assassin’s Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. So, presumably right before the world ends, the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington DC will host art that most of its denizens aren't used to: Video Game Art. Beginning on March 16th and lasting until September 9 in 2012 (or the end of the world, whichever comes first), the Smithsonian will host an exhibition covering everything from the Magnavox Odyssey (of which is already in the Smithsonian now) to the PlayStation 3 and everything in between. Video game art exhibitions aren't anything new, however big name players like Smithsonian have never had one. The Smithsonian said that not only will they have developer interviews, concept art, screenshots, rarely seen console concepts, game footage, and more, but they'll also take input from the public on what they would like to see. It was rumored before that the game was going to be a remake of the PlayStation version of Vandal Hearts and was going to be released for the Nintendo DS. Mass Effect 2 now has a solid release date: January 26, 2010. While it's anybody's guess whether or not it actually comes out that day, it can be safe to assume that EA would be idiots to announce such a specific release date then push it back (again). Then again, we've all seen stranger things. The game, which is a direct sequel to 2007's Mass Effect, still features commander Shepard, who for some reason has lost all his abilities from the first game, trying to figure out why large colonies of humans are mysteriously vanishing (geth maybe?) The game will take place 2 years after the first Mass Effect (and was originally supposed to be released 2 years after as well, but who wants to go up against Modern Warfare 2). Here we go again with the new age Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider game that we all loved, quite literally, 2 years ago. Only this time, it's a different artifact being tracked and a new villain for Drake and friends to out smart. All of it has a very epic, action film taste to it. Evading guards, traversing a modern warfare and running through the snow in Tibet make for a great adventure along with a very witty and humorous feel mixed in.
