Looks Like I Am Part Of Prototype 2's Blackwatch Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 20th of December 2011 - 10:12 PM ]
So given my past employment history, it has never been much of a surprise when something comes my way that is listed as "Classified" or "Top Secret". It still weirds out the neighbors and the girlfriend, but that is acceptable weirdness to me. Especially when it is filled full of stuff for one of my favorite franchises in the video game world, [Prototype 2]. So let's see what had to be black boxed and delivered in such a manner. Hey look, a load of posters to help barricade off my home into sectors I want people in. Read More...

Fan Made BioShock Movie Teaser
by Matt Waitt [ Friday, 2nd of December 2011 - 05:29 PM ]
In my long and weary travels through the harsh and sometimes beautiful lands of the internet, I have come across a video on YouTube by the username of "TheBioshockMovie" which only has one upload which was about a week ago. The upload is titled "BioShock Movie (2013) - Trailer". While it's more of a teaser, this fan-made video has definitely impressed me. The teaser starts off with some junk on a beach as the camera pans to the right we see a wallet, a shoe and then a man. A man who just happens to be holding a Big Daddy doll, then a sharp cut to a real life big daddy, a man screaming and what seems to be the man holding the doll getting swept away from a surge of water. Do Video Game Characters Have Dreams Of Their Players?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 7th of October 2011 - 04:51 PM ]
Looks like Sony took the time to answer that question for us in their latest promotional video for the Long Live Play campaign. Looks like they do and they are supposed to be. Sackboy I'm looking at you. Tsk tsk tsk… This is a rather interesting and awesome addition to things though. Especially since everyone in there is not a PlayStation exclusive even though it is stacked that way a bit. I will say that some of their choices for actors is a little odd or at least make the characters look odd. Kratos for one just looks wrong even though he looks to be the most CG'ed of the bunch. If you are in here reading this now, you are either a fan of Batman: Arkham City and want to see new screen shots or you are one of those people who get off to comic book porn. Shank 2 Announced
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 29th of September 2011 - 06:18 PM ]
EA has announced that they are working with Klei Entertainment on a sequel to Shank, simply titled "Shank 2" at this point. After killing the criminals who betrayed him, former mob hit man Shank must protect his loved ones from the mob he once worked for. So far no release date has been given, but we can surely expect this one to come out sometime in 2012. I never played the first Shank but I have heard nothing but good things, plus the game looked pretty awesome. Well here are some screen shots and an announcement trailer, enjoy. Read More...

Dead Island The Movie... Do We Need It?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 27th of September 2011 - 06:44 PM ]
Do we need yet another zombie film? Or even better, another zombie film based on a video game? I mean are the Resident Evil films not enough for us? If you answered along the lines of "Yes, give me another zombie film based on a video game." then I have some good news for you. Lionsgate has just announced that they have optioned the film rights to Dead Island the movie. Yea… I think… I am being a little hasty here though. It looks like the reason has been optioned is all based around the concept of the first trailer we were given back in February of this year. Read More...

Review: Dead Island
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 13th of September 2011 - 09:44 PM ]
When a zombie outbreak happens, you feel like you are on an island even in the middle of the main land. The only difference is that instead of freezing rough waters of the ocean surrounding you, you have a sea of mindless hungry cannibals. So how would it feel if you were stacked up against both obstacles? Of course, this just has to happen in the middle of a decadent holiday trip. Dead Island from Techland and Deep Silver is here to show you just what might happen if that did occur. Read More...

Batman Getting The Cold Shoulder In Arkham City
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 16th of August 2011 - 01:17 PM ]
Here we go with yet another villain shown for Batman: Arkham City - Mr. Freeze. If you look below, you'll see the nice, shiny new trailer for this latest reveal. At first glance, it really just seems like another step to stop Bats from getting things under control. That is, until he begins to meander around like a smaller, frozen Big Daddy. It does look like Freeze will be adding a few new environmental challenges for Batman from the video. Most notably would have to be the freezing of ledges. Read More...

Dead Island Shows How Team Work Is Golden During Zompocalypse
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 9th of August 2011 - 09:56 PM ]
When choosing one's zombie team, you generally want to have a good group whom you know will watch your back and not hesitate to kill a zombie. There is no room for cry baby whiners who will end up killing you and the group down the line. It is just good tactics for survival. It would seem very amateurish if you didn't know that rule when it comes to surviving the zombie plague be it urban or not. So what is the big news here as it clearly isn't just a lesson on surviving Zompocalypse? Well Dead Island has officially gone gold so we can expect it to keep the September 6th launch date. Dead Island Is Making Curb-Stomping A Good Thing
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 2nd of August 2011 - 08:50 PM ]
It should be well known by now that each of the four playable characters in Dead Island has a finishing move for the undead when they are brought to their knees. The undead, not the character. Most of these moves include a stomp to the head or some other way of putting the final nail in the coffin for the undead. The below screen shots should be a good example of what I am talking about if you are still in the dark. Now for my extra two cents. Read More...

Batman Really Taking On Jigsaw In Arkham City Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 13th of July 2011 - 10:30 PM ]
I do love the new direction that RockSteady has taken The Riddler, my second favorite villain, but I can't seem to look past the close similarities in the characters. They are both geniuses. They both like putting people in death traps. They both have a specific tone and method to their speaking. I guess the only real difference is that the new Riddler does it to prove to the world that he really is the smartest person alive. Anyways, if you haven't picked up on it yet, or skipped to the video, there is a new clip showcasing some of the personality behind The Riddle of Batman: Arkham City. There are no spoilers at all, unless the few words and phrases said would somehow ruin the experience, so don't worry about that. Read More...

Aggrocast Episode Eighty-Three: E3 2011 Special
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 20th of June 2011 - 04:37 PM ]
David, Corey and Brian are back at it to talk about this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. First, they wrap up what they've been playing outside of the show floor - including Dungeon Siege III, Dungeons And Dragons: Daggerdale, Alice: The Madness Returns, Duke Nukem Forever, Final Fantasy III, 4 Elements and of course, Brian's update on how many hours he's put into Persona 4. Our Care/Don't Care segment goes commando with an all-E3 focus, which is also our main topic.  I will say that our talk went on a bit with the sheer number of topics that presented themselves from E3. E3 Hands On: Dead Island
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 17th of June 2011 - 10:50 AM ]
If you've followed anything I've written regarding Dead Island on this site, you would know that this is one of the few titles I am extremely excited to play. So you can only imagine my excitement when I was let in on the (as I was originally told) appointment only demo. A demo that focused specifically on the multiplayer/co-op of the tragedy in paradise. What could be better? I'm done gilding the lily here, so let me just take you into the bulk of what I got to see as well as control in Dead Island. Read More...

A New SSX Debut At E3
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 9th of June 2011 - 03:03 PM ]
We haven't had an SSX title since 2007, so the announcement earlier this year that SSX was coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 was kind of a big deal. With there over-the-top tricks and incredible tracks (both snow and music), SSX is probably one of the highest-rated snowboarding games out there. Definitely a welcome back for both the genre and the franchise. Mountains, check. Snowboard, check. Read More...

Batman: Arkham City Just Got Sexier
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 7th of June 2011 - 06:51 AM ]
So it looks like the rumor about NOT being able to play as Catwoman in Batman: Arkham City is now busted. Submitted for your consumption, I give you a look at a bit of the game play as Catwoman in Batman: Arkham City. Straight from the horse's mouth, A.K.A. Rocksteady, to our eyes. Yes, I know that doesn't make visual sense, but just go with it. It doesn't show any form of Co-Op which leads me to believe that she is either going to have a small portion of the game set up like The Joker did in Arkham Asylum. It may be some extra missions, after game missions added to the game, or it could be similar but added into the main story arc of the game. Read More...
