E3 Impressions: Singularity
by Ben Brody [ Monday, 8th of June 2009 - 08:15 PM ]
In mathematics, singularity theory is the study of the failure of manifold structure (yes, that is taken from wikipedia). In the game Singularity, something definitely failed, and while I'm not sure what a manifold structure is, it sounded like a cool sentence to start off with. All this aside, Raven Software's Singularity looks like one of the best shooters coming out this year. Players will control Nate Renko, an American Air Force pilot who was sent to an island called Katorga 12 to investigate why the area was emitting irregular amounts of radiation. During his investigation, however, his plane crashes on the island. Read More...

E3 Impressions: Blur
by Ben Brody [ Thursday, 4th of June 2009 - 04:42 PM ]
Have you ever played Project Gotham Racing and thought to yourself, this would be awesome if I could get powerups and kill the other cars. Well so did Bizarre Creations and that's why they created Blur.I got a closed door meeting with Bizarre Creations' newest racing title, Blur. Incorporating real cars and locations with arcade power ups, Blur does just that, blurs the line between Project Gotham Racing's realistic physics with Mario Kart's arcade style powerups, Blur is an all new kind of racer. I got to play two tracks, a simple oval style racetrack laden with powerups and wide roadways, and a more urban track (Hackney area of England) with twisty turns and narrow avenues.Several car manufacturers, including Ford, GM, Renault, BMW, and Koeniggsegg (sp) all made appearances and we got assurance from Bizarre Creations's that there would be many more cars added. by Jesse [ Tuesday, 26th of May 2009 - 04:22 PM ]
In 2006 Marvel and Activision teamed up to create Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Built on the X-men Legends engine, Ultimate Alliance featured the largest collection of comic book characters ever seen in a video game. Combining the standard roster with downloadable content, Ultimate Alliance featured nearly 40 playable characters. The game was a success and this coming fall we'll get to see the sequel Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion. Already there are 17 playable characters that will be a part of the roster with at least another dozen that have yet to be identified as playable or non-playable. Read More...

Below is the opening video clip for the game [Prototype]. Like the actual opening for the game. So if you like your eyes to be as pleased as your nose with the new game smell in it, then don't watch the video clip. But feel free to look lower for a bit of description for it. Activision Announces Fall Lineup of "Hero"s
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 7th of May 2009 - 03:45 PM ]
More Peripherals!!!!  Yay!  I know that is what you're thinking as today Activision announced their fall releases of "Hero" franchises. Attempting to break into the hip-hop and R&B markets, they will be releasing DJ Hero, coming to you with special turntable peripheral.  No longer content with sticking to plastic instruments, they are moving into plastic electronics.  Couch Potato Hero will of course have plastic TV and remote as you sit on your couch playing a person sitting on a couch.  All kidding aside I really hope to see this at E3 in a few weeks and take it for a spin*. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 22nd of April 2009 - 08:04 PM ]
In a dispute which has been raging on for the past couple of days, Activision Blizzard Inc. was ordered by a California court to turn over it's game code and custom turntables for it's new DJ game "DJ hero" back to Genius Studios. Genius Studios was working on a game known only as Scratch: the Ultimate DJ, and was working with California 7 studios to finish the product. Genius and Activision Blizzard Inc, were in discussions about creating a new title but things got sticky and fell through. So what does the Video game Giant do? Read More...

Greatest Hits? Really?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 13th of April 2009 - 06:03 PM ]
Guitar Hero: Smash Hits Let me ask you a question, am I the only one that isn't a fan of greatest hits albums from bands? Compilations of songs that I already own but the band thinks that they are the best of their collection and need to make another CD of just these songs. Making the need to shell out more cash to pick up songs a new disk that I already paid good hard cash for. How does this make sense in a world? Really? Read More...

Fists Of Iron
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 6th of April 2009 - 06:07 PM ]
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 For some reason Marvel would rather slowly tease us all with a slow release of playable characters for the next ultimate alliance game. Very slowly it would seem. Almost one a month from the count that I have seen. At least outside of the original outburst of characters that were assumed to carry over from the first game. But with around 24 playable characters, going at one a month won't be anywhere on time for their Autumn release schedule. Unless they plan to hammer us at E3 with a bunch of the others. Read More...

Top 10 Reasons To Get [Prototype] If for some reason you didn't want to even give Radical Entertainment's game Prototype a good college try, no clue why one wouldn't really, then here is a list of the top ten reasons for you to consider. Or at least look at and think, holy hells why did I even not think to give it a play through. But in any instance, it may well change you mind or get you a little more excited for this game come this June. Oh, some of the reasons by the way, Projectile Dysfunction, Brutal Devastator Attacks, Jacking Military Vehicles, and Consume and Become Anyone. Read More...
