born the son of former Heavyweight boxer “Battling Jack” Murdock. Growing up in Hell’s Kitchen, New York, Matt learned from his father the importance of education. His father wanted nothing more than for his son to get ahead in life using his brain rather than his fists. Matt’s nobility was no more evident than on the fateful day where he saved a blind man from being run over by a truck carrying radioactive material. The waste managed to fall from the truck, partly splashing into Matt’s eyes. Though it blinded him, Matt’s other senses were heightened to superhuman levels.

Matt attended Columbia University where he studied law. In order to support his son, Jack returned to the ring. On one particular fight, Jack was told to take a dive. He refused and was subsequently killed. This sparked a thirst for revenge in Matt who used his abilities to bring his father’s killers to justice. Under the harsh tutelage of blind martial arts master Stick, Matt mastered his heightened senses and trained to master several martial arts styles. Now he works as both a lawyer and a costumed vigilante to bring justice to the streets of Hell’s Kitchen as Matt Murdock and Daredevil.

The blinded by chemical waste, Daredevil’s other senses are heightened to a degree far beyond human capabilities. His sense of touch is sensitive enough to detect the faint impressions of ink on paper, allowing him to read by touch. His sense of smell is enhanced enough to distinguish individuals by their natural odours. Daredevil’s hearing is also at a level where he can detect a pin drop from several blocks away. He is also capable of hearing the reverberations made by ambient sounds on objects and people, giving him a sonar-like. Along with his enhanced senses, Daredevil possesses peak levels of strength, speed, agility, reflexes and stamina for a human. He was rigorously trained to master a style of fighting that makes use of Ninjutsu, Judo, Jujutsu and American Boxing. He also incorporates an Olympic level of gymnastics into his hybrid fighting art. Daredevil goes into battle carrying a uniquely designed billy club. Designed to be a cane, it works as a battle staff and can be split into a pair of batons. The cane also houses 30 feet of cable which is attached to a steel grappling hook.

            As a melee fighter, Daredevil’s club adds a dimension of ranged attacks that make him a capable multi-role fighter. In close he has several attacks that are capable of dealing decent damage, but his Extensive Strike makes use of the cord in his club allowing him to strike foes at a distance and Devastation was a radial attack in which his club could knock down any enemies around him. His team skills were used to bolster his teammate’s melee damage and his enhanced senses were reflected in an ability that slows time for a short while. Unlike many of the other Marvel characters, Daredevil’s costume selection is surprisingly limited having undergone few changes over the years. Along with his standard all red and the original yellow&red design, I’d very much like to see his black and red outfit worn in the Secret War and the new Daredevil Noir costume appear in the next game.
