On Call With Split/Second
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 10th of May 2010 - 10:56 PM ]
This past Friday we were able to join in on the conference call for Split/Second, the upcoming game from Disney and Blackrock Studios. Split/Second is releasing next week (5/18/2010) and we had the honor to have our questions answered by Nick Baynes, Game Director for Blackrock Studios. So why should you pick up this racer? Well give it a listen and you can judge for yourself on why you would want to pick up this racer. If for some odd reason you don't want to listen to over fifty-six minutes of the conference call than let me give you some of the key points for Split/Second. Read More...

Silent Hill 2... Er I Mean Alan Wake Live Action
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 26th of April 2010 - 02:53 AM ]
What you are about to see is not a preview to some new horror film. Nor is it the preview for the film adaptation of Silent Hill 2. So please do not get confused when you watch it. What is it a preview for then? The below video/preview is for the prequel story to Silent Hill Alan Wake. A game that has cause a bit of stir between the media and its developers. Why it hasn't caused any strife between Konami and Remedy yet, I don't know. What I do know is that on Tuesday (4/27), if you are not an XBox Live member, you will be able to check out the first episode over at http://brightfalls. Read More...

Sword & Poker: The .99 Cent iPhone Battery Killer
by Kevin [ Sunday, 24th of January 2010 - 08:03 PM ]
I've come across a multitude of titles in the App Store that attempt to bridge the gap between two gaming genres. There have been varying degrees of success for most of these games, but every now and again there's a title that not only dares to get the formula right - but sees fit to destroy the battery in my phone (which, admittedly, with an iPhone isn't too terribly difficult). In this case the game in question is "Sword&Poker" - and yes it is exactly what it sounds like.In the world of Sword & Poker, the always dreaded Lord of Chaos has snagged the equally ominous Stone of Creation and has formed a intricate dungeon to protect his dark intent. Aggro Attractions: Games Coming Soon
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 15th of December 2009 - 04:10 PM ]
A lot of people were disappointed by the recent Video Game Awards held on Spike TV, and in most cases the disappointment is very much deserved. Although the award ceremony was filled with professionals and had some fantastic exclusives to premier, it still comes off as very much forced and not at all exciting. Fortunately, for the gaming audience there were some great trailers shown. As Binh said in a great article that covered the results of the show, the true stars were the trailers. Read More...

Review: Dead Space Extraction
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 5th of October 2009 - 07:42 PM ]
It all started just a little under a year ago. The exploration of terror in space in a nice little title called Dead Space. A game that I reviewed as my game of the year last year. A game that I deemed brought back those feelings of the first time you cracked open Resident Evil on the PlayStation. Just like RE you were left with loads of questions and left wanting more. Now along comes Dead Space: Extraction. Dead Space: Extraction lets players roll through all the events that lead up to Isaac and crew rolling through the USG Ishimura in fear of getting back off with their lives physically and mentally stable. Extracting More Images Of Fear
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 29th of September 2009 - 02:20 PM ]
Dead Space: Extraction comes out this week on the Wii. This Tuesday to be exact. On a system that the core game was never on, only rumored about being on. But at least it is on a system that is made perfectly for a rail-shooter style of game. As the Resident Evil franchise has shown in the past and in the not too far off future. But that is not to say that the visuals are not going to be geared up to shock and instill horror in the minds of its players. In fact, here are a bunch of shots from the game and concepts to prove that point. Read More...

Nier is Hopefully Not Too Far
by Kevin [ Friday, 25th of September 2009 - 03:21 PM ]
Nier,or Nier Gestalt as it goes by these days, is one of those titles that I really feel could go either way. It could be a really compelling experience with a narrative that draws you in with some really deep action elements, or it could be a largely forgettable title with little to allow it to stand out among other similar entries in the genre. The design of the game is decidedly Square Enix and if we have learned anything from their protagonists, there will be a rich melencholy right below the surface of the gruff devil may care attitude. Will the style of the game be enough? Read More...

PAX 2009 Impression: Torchlight
by Binh Nguyen [ Sunday, 6th of September 2009 - 02:30 AM ]
On October 27th 2009, Runic Games will be releasing an Action Role Playing Game called Torchlight.  Action RPG huh, so you mean like Diablo? Yes, just like Diablo. It’s not as dark, nor as scary as Diablo, but the feel and the controls of the game would make it Diablo-ish.  But they aren’t stopping there. Runic Games is planning on making the game into a MMO, a FREE to play MMO, but will not be available until sometime in the future. They will probably be like Blizzard and they will release it when it’s done, and not rush its release. Read More...

Almost Died From Memory
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 29th of April 2009 - 05:21 PM ]
More Dead Space Extraction Screens Just when the buzz started to die down about this Wii Rail Shooter, Dead Space: Extraction, EA throws a few more screen shots out at us. Not the best way to generate that buzz back up about the game, but it is a good way to keep the slight vibrations of it going just a little bit longer until the big pay off. I know where all of your minds just went with that last sentence there. Don't deny. Read More...

Extracting More Story From Dead Space
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 18th of February 2009 - 04:35 PM ]
EA Announces Dead Space Extraction Exclusive for the Wii Not to long ago it was brought up that there was going to be a Wii port of Dead Space. Well this was only partial true and based off of reports from an interview. But today came the full on announcement about the Wii version of the game, or should I say the Wii prequel to the game. Yes, it'll be kind of like Resident Evil 0 on the GameCube for the game that came on so strong for the PS3, XBox, and PC. Dead Space: Extraction will be the story leading up to the opening of Dead Space. Read More...

Total Link PWNage
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 1st of April 2008 - 09:40 PM ]
Legend Of Zelda Movie Trailer Premiere Ok, so I could have the largest dick in the universe and report this as 100% real, but I am not. In fact, I've been trolling around to find real stuff to report on, but alas, today is the day that everyone goes above and beyond to pull a prank. For F*cks sake, some of these "Joke" ideas are good enough to be made real; like the Bard class for WoW. But no, everyone has got to have their turn at teasing the world only to kick them in the virtual nuts by saying ha-f*cking-ha. I mean, I like a joke more than the next guy, but when you go to extreme lengths like what you will see below, it is no longer a good joke but just harmful. Read More...
