Splatterhouse Cranked To 11
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 26th of May 2010 - 07:12 PM ]
Maybe it is because Alpha Protocol got a music video rendition. Or maybe not. But Splatterhouse looks so frigging METAL that it needs it's own "music video" to promote it. Which is just what I have to submit to you below, if you approve or not. So crank it to 11 and watch the bloody awesomeness that is Splatterhouse. If you are not a metal head, still hit the mute button and watch the gameplay and visuals of the game. Great choice of music and shots of the game in my opinion. Read More...

Google Gets Pac-Mania
by Kevin [ Sunday, 23rd of May 2010 - 12:42 PM ]
To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Pac-Man, Google has done one of the coolest things with their logo in recent memory, transforming it into a playable stage of the classic game. Though I hesitate to think that this will be a trend and will lead to more video game related logos for Google, it's good to see that when they decide to introduce something gaming related they actually make it interactive and not static. You can start the game by "inserting a coin" or by waiting ten seconds before the game starts automatically. Pac-Man has been one of the constants of gaming since 1980, and was introduced when the more popular games of the time were space shooters like Asteroids. Read More...

Cursed With Immortality And A Knights Contract
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 21st of May 2010 - 03:50 PM ]
Well isn't this interesting? Or at least look a bit interesting? A huge muscle bound guy with a scythe running around killing everything in sight. All while his partner, a witch, casts magic at everything in hopes to harm them and help Mr. Muscles. What is this gem called? Knights Contract if you haven't started watching the video by now. Now after you watch the video, think to yourself, "Is this an odd mass-up of every fast action game I have ever played?" You got God of War and Dante's Inferno mixed together for the big guy. Review: Dead to Rights: Retribution
by Kevin [ Monday, 3rd of May 2010 - 05:35 PM ]
Dead to Rights: Retribution is a third person action title following vice cop Jack Slate and his groin-ravaging, canine companion Shadow as they uncover the seedier threats that are rising against an already seedy Grant City. Essentially, it is a re-imagining of the franchise that began with very basic, but very fun run and gun gameplay with a hint of John Woo-style dramatics. The sequel to the original, Dead to Rights II: Hell to Pay, moved the series from all the aforementioned positives into an area of monotony and outright brokenness. It took the ideas of the first game, which were actually pretty fresh amidst most of the titles out at the time, and did absolutely nothing with them. Read More...

The Clashing Of The Titans Is Still Going On
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 22nd of April 2010 - 07:17 PM ]
Well now that the film has come and still kind of around in theaters, some of these screen shots (below) for Namco's video game version of the game have begun to make a little more sense. Although there were still no frog people in the film, some of the updated and altered creatures and scenes fit in a little better. With that said, some of the in-game character models look a little bulkier then their film counter parts. The insane cult leader is a perfect example. Read More...

Splatterhouse Might Seem A Little Too Artsy
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 19th of April 2010 - 11:17 PM ]
In the last few days there has been some talk on video games having the capability of being art. If this medium of interactive media can truly be in the same class as music and film. A load of rubbish if you start reading into what the "experts" have to say on the matter. They know who they are and they most like are to hoity toity to even read our site. To the claims though I submit this new piece of work for consideration. The clip being the new trailer for Splatterhouse. Read More...

Review: Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon
by Michael Camacho [ Friday, 9th of April 2010 - 09:22 PM ]
Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon, developed by Namco and localized by XSeed Games, is an interesting game. I felt like I was playing an anime with many Japanese RPG elements infused within. Fragile Dreams is about a young boy named Seto, who is on a quest to find others in the world after nearly everyone has disappeared. After coming in contact with a young girl named Ren, she runs off and he is on a quest to find her and hopefully others. Early on in his journey he finds a Personal Frame Unit that is a talking backpack, and helps guide Seto through many of his trials and tribulations. Read More...

Clash Of The Titans Is Clashing Against Time
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 6th of April 2010 - 11:14 PM ]
I find it a little odd, yet a little relieving, that the game based on the recent release of Clash Of The Titans isn't hitting shelves for another two months. Really odd as most of the time the licencors want a game to hit along side the release of a movie. Which generally leads to rushing and piss poor work being slopped out there to make a buck or two. Look at most of the movie based games out there and you will see this is the case. It's part of the reason this "genre" of game sucks monkey nipples. Read More...

Clash Of The Titans Is The Diet Coke Of GOW
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 29th of March 2010 - 05:20 PM ]
With the US release of the film only about a week away, it is time that Namco started to pump out some good screen shots for the Clash Of The Titans video game. Which, looking below, they just did. Some rather good ones too that don't have me questioning what is being added to the story just for the game. Most of the below are actually the reworked creatures being used in the modernized film. Like the Kraken that looks like a sand worm from Final Fantasy and the centaurs. Read More...

Knock It Out Of The Splatterhouse
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of March 2010 - 06:22 PM ]
It's always a good day when you can walk out to your local park or field and got hit a few things with a bat or club. Be it a baseball, golf ball, or demon. Fun is to be had no matter what. Just to prove it, you can see the look of stoic joy on Splatterhouse's hockey masked Rick from the below screen shots just released by Namco. Look at the look of happiness as his stick swings to the fences through one of these creatures. Look at the sheer and utter giddiness in Ricks eyes as the blood falls around him. Read More...

Clash Of The Frog People...Er I Mean...Titans
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 13th of March 2010 - 12:42 AM ]
Maybe I am forgetting what happened in the 1981 version of Clash of The Titans, but I don't remember there being frog people challenging Perseus. It was a long time ago, but I still have no recollection of that. Please correct me if I am wrong. But in any instance, Perseus looks to be taking on frog people in the new game based on the remake of the classic Clash of The Titans. On top of our amphibian friends, it looks like a load of other new creatures were also made just for the game. Which continues the question I posed before, is this loosely based off a remake that looks loosely based off the original? Read More...

Not Your Parents Clash Of The Titans
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of February 2010 - 12:30 AM ]
Only a little more than a month away until the "remake" of the classic 1981 Clash Of The Titans hits theaters. For those who are early 80's movie retarded, it was a retelling of the Greek story of Perseus' persecution. Albeit a bit skewed from the original tale for film purposes, but a fun clay-mation driven film. The new film a deviation from the original from the looks of things, and not just the modern effects and CGI, but a bit of the story. The film is not what this is all about though. Read More...

by Kevin [ Monday, 22nd of February 2010 - 12:49 AM ]
One of the more entertaining action series in recent memory, Dead to Rights, is coming back and is going to pack more of a punch than ever before. Recently I had the opportunity to speak with Imre Jele (pictured below), Volatile Games' Project Director of Dead to Rights: Retribution, and pick his brain concerning the upcoming 'Game Noir' title. Here's a preview: Teste-Kills. Read on. Read More...

Get Teased Like In Vegas With Fallout: New Vegas
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 4th of February 2010 - 10:44 PM ]
Who want's to get teased? Who wants to get teased about Fallout: New Vegas? I see you with your hand and heart in the air. Yes you right there. Stop pretending that I am not talking to you. We all know you want to see a small glimpse at what is kind of to come with New Vegas. If you don't, then please step out and check out the other articles on AggroGamer here. Ok, now that it is just us here who want to salivate over the new teaser for New Vegas, let me say this, it doesn't really tell a whole lot about what is going on the the game. It is a nicely rendered video showing what were expecting, a nice shiny city in the middle of a huge waste land with a few high tech robots picking up stuff. Read More...

Hellgate Resurected, Maybe For Good
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 18th of January 2010 - 09:51 PM ]
So, raise your hand if you were upset when Hellgate: London was shut down. Look at all those virtual hands out there that seemed so depressed that I brought this up again. But turn those sad hands and faces upside down, it looks like you will most likely be getting this wonderful game and it's servers back up and running in the not to distant future. Like sometime this year distant future. With a new upgraded version and more player to go along with that as well. Read More...
