Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here's a recap of what we covered in the world of video games Another solid week in video games in the bag and damn this one was filled with a lot of exciting things. We were able to get out our reviews for Adr1ft and Batman from Telltale and we also were able to see THQ come back into form in a small way. Batman We sit down and review Batman: The Telltale Series — Realm Of Shadows. This is the first episode of Telltale's take on the Batman franchise. Here's our review on how they did It seemed like a weird time to bring out Batman: The Telltale Series given all of the other titles fighting for the limelight back when the game was first announced. But given that Telltale Games has had a pretty solid record on their storytelling titles to date I know myself and many other tried to ignore all of the other Batman going on to give this version of the franchise a fair shake. Mafia 3 Two new video s for Mafia 3 have been released with one showing off the 3rd lieutenant and the other Mafia 3's districts built in the city It looks like I may have spoken too soon on the lieutenant side of things yesterday for Mafia 3. Yes, we had a good behind the scenes look at Cassandra as Hangar 13 has crafted her but I know I was looking to find out about Vito Scaletta and his whole story. Or at least as much of the story for Mafia 3 as 2K Games is willing to give us all as we wait for the October 7th release date for the game. Mafia 3 A new behind the scenes video for Mafia 3 has been let loose and it gives us even more insight into Mafia 3's Cassandra; the Voodoo Queen I know I was looking forward to hearing more about the lieutenants of Mafia 3, specifically the third one, and it looks like we have more right here. Sadly, it isn't on the third lieutenant but a behind the scenes video from Hangar 13 on more of Cassandra's motives and wants in the game and overall story. I was pretty sure that we had a good taste from 2K Games so far on Cassandra out of Mafia 3 to keep us up to snuff until October 7th. Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here's a recap of what we covered in the world of video games That was another great and solid week in video games now wasn't it? We had a whole lot of great and not so great updates for many of the titles we are looking forward to. Yes we did have to see Outlast 2 get delayed and that we will have to pay for the extras on Final Fantasy XV but on the plus side we were able to see amazing things for Hellblade and No Man's Sky. Mafia 3 The next lieutenant of Mafia 3 has been given the trailer treatment and here we get to know Mafia 3's Thomas Burke, the anarchist of the bunch Last week we got to see the Voodoo Queen for Mafia 3 and now this week we get to see the Anarchist in action for the game. This would be the Irish fellow we've seen in the past videos that 2K Games has given us and the most chaotic addition for the bunch. If it hadn't been said already I'd almost be certain that the Mafia 3 scenes we saw at E3 from Hangar 13 would always play out the same way based on his persona. Mighty No. 9 We sit down and review Mighty No. 9. Some say it is a Mega Man rip-off and others just another Kickstarter title. Here's our review of Mighty No. 9 If there has been a game in recent history that has had one rocky development cycle it seems it would be Mighty No. 9. It was backed and funded with the quickness when comcept original brought the idea to market as many saw it to be the Mega Man title they have been waiting for. Mafia 3 A new video series for Mafia 3 has begun and each looks to let us get to know the lieutenants of Mafia 3 we will be working with and appeasing Way back in June we were properly introduced to the lieutenants that we will be in control of in Mafia 3 when it launches. We had a fun look at how Hangar 13 has set up a pretty dynamic way for them to be integrated into the game as well as a quick overview of their personalities. Of course that is going to play a big part in the overall scheme of Mafia 3 so it would be nice to get to know them a bit more. The Walking Dead A few new tidbits for The Walking Dead season three from Telltale have come out of SDCC as well as some new screenshots for The Walking Dead's third season It was stated that we would get some more on the third season of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead during San Diego Comic Con and fans were not let down. At least not let down outside of the fact that we were still left with a whole lot to wonder on as we head toward the new season's release and just what has gone on in the game's world since then. Minecraft We sit down and review Minecraft: Story Mode — A Portal To Mystery. This is the sixth episode of Telltale's take on Mojang's famed franchise. Here's our review on how they did The story continues for Minecraft: Story Mode as we have the first episode in the expanded adventure and the sixth episode in the epic tale of Jesse and his crew as they do what is apparently done in Mojang's world. If you are somehow still behind the times though this also expands on the story that Telltale Games has been building up for us over pretty much a year now. I'm still confused as to why they didn't go a solid second season and just have all of this is part of it but they didn't Now let us dig into this new episode of Minecraft: Story Mode before we get bogged down with even more of their great stories and such. Tomb Raider The official announcement of Rise Of The Tomb Raider on the PS4 has been made and it looks like Rise Of The Tomb Raider is getting new content and PSVR support The rumors that Rise Of The Tomb Raider was coming to the PS4 look to have been validated as Square Enix has given the official word on a new 20 Year Celebration edition of the game coming not only to the PS4 but also the Xbox One and PC. All on October 11th just as the rumors stated. The only thing that the rumors didn't state about Rise Of The Tomb Raider was the fact that Crystal Dynamics is also bringing us a new Endurance mode, a new story chapter, and VR support for the PS4 version of the game. Batman A solid release date for Batman: The Telltale Series has been revealed and it looks like the first week of August is when Batman will be taking flight again Last week we were teased with when Batman: The Telltale Series would be coming to us in digital format but we were told that we would get to see a new trailer just in time for SDCC. As they are people of their words over at Telltale Games we now have a released date for the digital version of the game, August 2nd, and a trailer for the first episode of the game. Minecraft The release date for Minecraft: Story Mode's seventh episode has been set and it looks like the world of Minecraft is getting the Tron and Borg treatment The seventh episode of Minecraft: Story Mode, or second in the adventure pass, has a release date set and it looks like it will be July 26th here. On this date we will get to see how much further down the rabbit hole Telltale Games is going to take us into their take on the famed Mojang IP that has a few hits and misses in my eyes. Friday The 13th A new update to Friday The 13th: The Game's digital cabin has been made and we get more to see for Friday The 13th's big bad Jason in the game It hasn't been that long since the Friday The 13th: The Game digital cabin came online and fans who backed or are still banking the game had a chance to check out the "safe area" in the game where we can check out all of our collected gear and items. Illfonic and Gun Media put this together early but it will be in the final game so you can see everything you want out side of a match. Sadly, when it first launched it was just an icon cabin from the Friday The 13th series and game with little more than a few developer diaries and music to check out from the game. Read More...
