"SACK IT TO ME"...Weekly Answers to the LBP Community's Questions As has been the buzz around the net and the PS Forum boards, moderation on user created levels has been out of control on the LBP servers. Like crazy to the point where some levels that have no offensive materials or copy written materials have been removed. With no explanation as well. To me this is really hampering one of the best features of this game. Read More...

[360 Review] Need for Speed Undercover
by [ Tuesday, 2nd of December 2008 - 06:25 AM ]
Racing titles are ever-evolving. With the intoduction of the open world to the genre, it has seemed that subsequent titles especially after Burnout Paradise have followed suit. While Burnout Paradise was a glowing example of the open world mechanic done right, many of the games it has inspired have been less-than-stellar entries to their respective franchises. The latest evidence of this is Need for Speed Underground. While it aspires to be a “thrilling”, open exercise in evading the cops and rising above the ranks, it falls short in a number of ways, making the other racing contenders available right now the better choice, most definitely. [XBox 360 Review] Rock Revolution
by Michael Camacho [ Saturday, 29th of November 2008 - 04:37 PM ]
With Guitar Hero and Rock band taking a huge command over the market, one would expect Konami's first stab at the U.S. market with a Band music game would be successful. Hell, they are the creators of the genre in the first place, and have always done it right. Unfortunately with Rock Revolution, this is not the case. Konami fails to take their success at Rhythm games to the next plateau or even the same level as its competitors. The multiple missteps in Rock Revolution range in various capacities. Read More...

Halo Recon Gets a New Name, No New Info.
by Sam [ Wednesday, 26th of November 2008 - 12:36 AM ]
As of today, Bungie announced that Halo 3: Recon will now be known as Halo 3: ODST, meaning Oribtal Drop Shock Trooper, the center character for the game.     "If you recall, this is our recently announced stand-alone extension to Halo 3 that features an all new campaign played from the perspective of an ODST in the heart of a Covenant occupied New Mombasa. In addition to sleuthing around the city and piecing together the details surrounding your squad's whereabouts, the game will also include some new Halo 3 multiplayer content as well as one or two unrevealed surprises when it's released next Fall. This new title is a more straightforward account of the experience that awaits and the role you will assume as you explore the streets of New Mombasa. Read More...

[PS3 Review] Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 25th of November 2008 - 07:13 PM ]
The Worlds Collide This game has been a huge one on a lot of people's radars since it was first announced. It has been looked to as a way to reinvigorate the franchise into what it once was. Trying to help fans forget the films and lack luster games that have been placed out there on the market. Here's what I have to say. The Premise: At the end of a great battle against Darkseid and Shao Kahn, each in their own universes, something goes awry and begins the merging of the two universes. Through confusion or just trying to find answers to end this universe ending event, both sides fight through to find a way to end it. Read More...

Review — Quantum Of Solace
by [ Monday, 24th of November 2008 - 03:40 AM ]
Quantum Of Solace The latest James Bond adventure is actually fun As evidenced in previous James Bond video games, it’s a pure rush of adrenaline to step into the shoes of the debonair agent. From GoldenEye to Everything or Nothing, the Bond games have usually been faithful recreations of the films or entirely new adventures to embark on. With Quantum Of Solace, the newest addition to the Bond game library, the total immersion of being Bond is alive and well. With much owed to the Call Of Duty 4 engine, this is a fast-paced, fun FPS with elements of third-person shooters. Read More...

Challenging BioShock
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 19th of November 2008 - 10:10 PM ]
BioShock PS3 DLC Surfaces Tomorrow So tomorrow, November 20th, those of us that have picked up the PS3 version of BioShock are getting a nice little treat. Exclusive added content for the game on the PSN. The add on is listed below. But there is one thing I find a little off, at least for me, the price point for PS3 users to get this new content. While PS3 BioShock owners will get access to the stuff that was given away to PC and XBox players, these 3 new challenge rooms come for a $10 fee. Might not sound too high, but it is only three new little sections for the game. Read More...

First Impressions of the New Xbox Experience
by Michael Camacho [ Sunday, 16th of November 2008 - 10:36 PM ]
New Xbox Experience, this has been the discussion amongst many Xbox Live gamers as of late. Many are anxiously anticipating its release, while others are worried this will take away from what Xbox Live has always been. As someone who has been using Xbox Live since 2003, I had mixed reactions to the upcoming NXE update. After receiving an invite from Microsoft to try it out five days prior to the official release, I can say all worries have been squashed. The initial update and install of NXE is quick and seamless, and I faced no problems at all. Read More...

[PS3 Review] Mirror's Edge
by Michael Camacho [ Friday, 14th of November 2008 - 04:23 AM ]
Mirror’s Edge, developed by DICE and utilizing the Unreal 3 Engine along with a dynamic lighting engine in Beast, is set in what seems to be a beautiful and utopian city. But all is not what it seems, and the city is actually heavily controlled and monitored by a totalitarian regime. To evade the watchful eye of Big Brother, runners are employed to relay information. This is where the main character, Faith, comes into the story. After her parents were killed by the government for actively protesting against the regime, she grew up on the streets. Read More...

Halo 3 Recon is 5-6 Hours Long
by Sam [ Thursday, 13th of November 2008 - 07:08 PM ]
Those who got their hands on the December issue of Game Informer might have read about the upcoming Halo 3 expansion Halo 3: Recon. The game is in fact 3-5 hours long, which is very short. The game should also be a very low price. Bungie's Joe Staten says "We do not view this at a $60 title". Hopefully $20-$30. Also mentioned is the expansion will allow users to unlock previously unlockable Recon armor, if you completed the Vidmaster Challenge Achievement. Read More...

[XBox 360 Review] Rapala Fishing Frenzy 2009
by Michael Camacho [ Thursday, 6th of November 2008 - 11:59 PM ]
Ready to put you’re fishing skills to the test? Then check out Rapala Fishing Frenzy 2009, brought to us by Activision and Fun Labs. The game is exactly what you would expect, a fishing simulation game featuring the Rapala license. But does a fishing sim on the XBox 360 translate to actual gaming fun? Well that all depends on what you are expecting from your fishing experience. In Rapala 2009 you start off the game by choosing whether your character is a male or female, and then you come to main menu. Read More...

LittleBigUpdates
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 5th of November 2008 - 05:43 PM ]
I apologize now for the loads of news you will most likely be seeing surrounding this game. There is just so much and I get all kinds of details sent to me. More than any thing right now. So I'll preface that. But here are three interesting things that just popped up around LBP. LittleBigPlanet To Add Sticker Import From Hard Drive Might not sound all that cool, at least to some, but this is something that was originally stated was most likely never going to be an option within the game. What is that? Since I might not have been totally clear with the heading, looks like MM is working on a way to import images from the Hard Drive instead of just using your PSEye or USB Camera to get these images into your levels. LittleBigPlanet: Gradius So I knew that when LittleBigPlanet came out we would see some crazy cool levels for online play. But so far this one takes the cake and has me wondering how the hell it was done. I've got a few ideas, but just wow! Any ways, there is a clip of the game below in case you want to see something truly amazing. Also if you want to play, the level name is Libidius.jp. Read More...
