Review: The Wolf Among Us - Episode One
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 23rd of October 2013 - 06:49 PM ]
Just as with Telltale's last blockbuster title, The Walking Dead, we have another new 'point and click' storytelling adventure with The Wolf Among Us. It also looks like they have found a winning combination and Telltale is going to try and capitalize on it. The real question is: Can they do it again? Well, I'll be breaking it down as the new episodes release so keep an eye out. Also, if it sounds like I am being ambiguous in my phrasing that is due to me not trying to spoil the story. Another Film Game Coming For The Amazing Spider-Man 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 21st of October 2013 - 04:42 PM ]
First let's start with the groans of "A film-based movie for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Then let's remember how not too horrible The Amazing Spider-Man film-based game was. In fact I rather enjoyed it more than I thought and I think that was part and partial to the game being in development longer than most film tie in games. It looks like this could be in the same boat. If you look below we have the announcement trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game that is set to launch alongside the film of the same name. Story Time: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 18th of October 2013 - 09:23 PM ]
With Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag releasing in the next couple weeks it is about time for us to get to know the main character Edward Kenway. It makes sense as we will all be spending many hours controlling his every move while he plunders the Caribbean upon the Jackdaw. Lucky for us Ubisoft has put out a new trailer full of cut scene and game play to help us get a feel for this scalawag. Although I think that term maybe a bit out of place, but it was 'pirate-y' so give me a break. As usual, I will let the video explain more as I am sure it is the way you like it but Edward's story doesn't sound all that new to the Assassin's Creed franchise at all. Read More...

Let's Look At Frictional Games' New Title, SOMA
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 17th of October 2013 - 05:31 PM ]
If you like to hear about titles well in advance then do I have a title for you; SOMA. SOMA is the latest title to be announced from Frictional Games (Amnesia and Penumbra) and is slated for Windows, Mac, Linux, and PS4. It also happens to have a release window of…2015. If I had to throw a month out there I would probably go with October as this is survival horror title, but there is no real foundation in that. It is just me hypothesizing. So what is SOMA? Review: Knock Knock
by Kenton Winkfield [ Wednesday, 16th of October 2013 - 10:34 PM ]
With Halloween just around the corner, I've wanted to play a creepy game. The problem with this is I can’t seem to find a game creepy enough to send chills down my spine, while not scaring me away from the game every five minutes (it's been a few months since the last time I played Amnesia). Thankfully, the fellows at the Russian development studio, Ice-Pick Lodge, have created a game to fit my personal chill levels without scaring me away. Knock Knock is a 2D side-scrolling survival game set in a single house in the middle of the woods with a single resident. The game was started by Ice-Pick Lodge when they "received an anonymous e-mail which suggested that we should produce some 'unconventional' game based upon the materials attached to the letter. The Evil Within Is Looking For Boxman Cosplay
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 16th of October 2013 - 05:47 PM ]
Ok, so that headline is only half way true. Tango Gameworks and Bethesda are also looking for some awesome The Evil Within fan art or costumes inspired by everything they have released for the game so far and not just Boxman. You could also go with Nails-In-The-Face or Octo-Hair-Wavy-Girl if you are so inclined. Granted those names are made up by myself and not the "official" names being used by the studio or the publisher but if you look at the trailers and screen shots then mix in their 'clever' name for Boxman it is an easy assumption. Moving on now. Read More...

So Watch Dogs Has Been Delayed
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 15th of October 2013 - 04:42 PM ]
Well here is some sad news. It looks like Watch Dogs is going to be delayed until spring of 2014 now. This is a title I have been eagerly awaiting and actually got me to upgrade my PS4 pre-order to come bundled with. Looks like I will have to be choosing a new title to start playing during next month's console release. Before you think this is rumor or just random neigh saying, the news comes right from the Ubisoft blog. If you want to save yourself a bit of time, the short version for the delay is that Watch Dogs needs more 'polish' and 'fine tuning'. Read More...

Clans Finally Going Cross-Platform With Call Of Duty: Ghosts
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 14th of October 2013 - 07:10 PM ]
Can we all say it together? FINALLY. Finally we have hit an age were platform choice doesn't matter when it comes to playing with friends. In the below trailer for Call Of Duty: Ghosts you can see all of the new details for creating or re-registering clans for the title, but this has to be the biggest news out of all of it. Am I right? Oh wait, it doesn't actually let you play with friends in game. Read More...

Steal A Look At Some New Thief Gameplay
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 11th of October 2013 - 08:55 PM ]
Finally we get something a bit more concrete to look at to the public for Thief. As the below video claims we are now getting a good chuck of actual gameplay for the game and it looks…all too familiar. Like way too familiar. Almost like I am watching another title that has had a face-lift to be passed off as another game. Oh, I know now. It looks like the gameplay of Dishonored without the stylized look. Read More...

Review: Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 10th of October 2013 - 07:04 PM ]
Here we are five titles into the franchise and we are now getting the ability to manipulate some of our favorite characters and worlds with Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure. While personally I would have preferred a Marvel version, beggars can't be choosers when given the opportunity to rewrite, create, and travel to all of the famous locations in "nerd" history. As should be obvious, I had a chance to get down and dirty with Scribblenauts Unmasked on the PC and I am going to break it down for you to let you know if you should spend the time and money for the game. The Story After all of their fun adventures before, Maxwell and his sister Lilly are having a normal dispute on who is the best DC character. Read More...

I am back with another update on Telltale's next epic episodic game series The Wolf Among Us. Telltale has announced that the first episode of The Wolf Among Us will be available on the Xbox 360, PC and Mac on October 11th. Telltale did not mention a PS3 release date but did say that it should be out a few days after the other platforms. I'm going to guess October 15th as that will be the day of the next PSN update. Here's Some More Fact From Myth For BioShock Infinite's DLC
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 8th of October 2013 - 04:47 PM ]
We still don't have a solid date on when we can expect the story DLC for BioShock Infinite, but that doesn't stop the train of fun. Most fans of the franchise can't wait to go back into Rapture with Booker and Elizabeth. I'd be lying if I wasn't interested in see if this will be a side story to BioShock and not just another side dimension that takes place in Rapture with no real hooks to the original story. I'm going to guess that it is a side dimension with considerable similarities to the original Rapture we wandered in BioShock and BioShock 2, but we'll see. Any-who, just as they had for the launch of Infinite, Irrational has another fun and informative clip for the new DLC Burial At Sea. Read More...
