Call of Duty Movie Gets Trademarked
by Ben Brody [ Wednesday, 7th of October 2009 - 11:26 AM ]
A Call of Duty movie?!? There's a laundry list of great games turned into horrible movies (many of them belonging to Uwe Boll) and it looks like Call of Duty may be added to that list. While it may not be for certain, a trademark filing followed by a mysterious tweet certainly make it look like it could be “in the works” at the minimum. Activision is known for trademarking far more things than necessary, however it would make sense with all the other video game movies that have been announced. The tweet is here: http://twitter. Rock Band Is Changing Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 6th of October 2009 - 03:42 PM ]
You can all stop begging Harmonix to get your music on their insanely popular game now. In fact now you need to start bugging the artists and record label to get off their asses. Or even that awesome garage band next store. Just gone live today are the documentation and tools needed to use Harmonix's Rock Band Network. Well the plugins to allow for you to create the music and upload to the XBox Live, as that is the platform for the current release. This is going to change the game in a drastic way I think. Hazardous to Your Health
by Kevin [ Monday, 5th of October 2009 - 09:53 PM ]
So the General has summoned his old adversaries and Matt has to spring back into action. Now, here's what I'm thinking, because the game has been touted as being so closely in resemblance to Shadow Complex, that the parodies seen in this will deal with the side scrolling shooters that we hold so dear. That is to say, there needs to be a Contra level, where one death should actually reset your system and then your console of choice should burst into unholy flame. I'm pretty sure that was everyone's Contra's experience, right? Read More…

Review: Dead Space Extraction
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 5th of October 2009 - 07:42 PM ]
It all started just a little under a year ago. The exploration of terror in space in a nice little title called Dead Space. A game that I reviewed as my game of the year last year. A game that I deemed brought back those feelings of the first time you cracked open Resident Evil on the PlayStation. Just like RE you were left with loads of questions and left wanting more. Now along comes Dead Space: Extraction. Dead Space: Extraction lets players roll through all the events that lead up to Isaac and crew rolling through the USG Ishimura in fear of getting back off with their lives physically and mentally stable. Review: Canabalt
by Kevin [ Monday, 5th of October 2009 - 05:14 PM ]
What you see below you is the scenario that Canabalt presents. You begin the game fleeing from a crumbling building and whatever has assaulted that building is following you, and all you can do is run and leap to potential safety. The counter in the upper right will tell you how far you have been able to travel in your attempted escape. The maker of the game, Adam Saltsman, made a post over at the Experimental Game Project about the original version, "I made Canabalt in 5 very long days (at least 60 hours) – 1 day at the start of the month, two days at PromJam, and then this weekend. Danny B made the music for it tonight. Read More…

Brütal Mültiplayer Ünleashed
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 2nd of October 2009 - 04:12 PM ]
So by now there should be 66,600,000 consoles world wide that have downloaded the Brütal Legend demo. Well at least was the hopes of the marketing team behind the game. The demo being a nice little snippet of the beginning of the game's single player mode and story. It is fun. It makes you want the game even more while melting your face. But the whole game was originally a multiplayer game in concept. In fact, according to the developers, it was built as a multiplayer RTS-like game and the story mode was built from that to flesh things out. Read More…

Review: Gran Turismo (PSP)
by Ben Brody [ Friday, 2nd of October 2009 - 02:10 PM ]
Gran Turismo PSP, what was supposed to be a launch game (it kinda did in some ways with the PSPGo) in 2004 is finally out now, and available as a download for the PSPGo or a physical UMD for the rest, you alternatively could download the game for any PSP. The graphics are good, really good in fact. The detail that the cars are given is extensive seeing as the game is only about 1.2 gb; the graphics compare to a really good Dreamcast/early PS2 game and runs at a smooth and steady 60fps. The audio is just as good, however some of the sounds do get a bit repetitive. Read More…

Resident Evil Now For An Alternative Lifestyle
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 1st of October 2009 - 10:07 PM ]
Just to now follow up with their lack of counting ability, Capcom has just let loose a teaser for Resident Evil 5.2 Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition. A game that seems to be much like what Resident Evil Director's Cut was to Resident Evil. A new version of the game with a few little extra added in. Enough extras to warrant a new edition of the game for consumers to spend their hard earned money on. But for this game, it honestly seems like it could be worth it. Read More…

Activision Releases More Track Lists for Band Hero
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 1st of October 2009 - 07:47 PM ]
There comes a time when you realize there are certain products are just not for your demographic anymore. Maybe it was when you were hitting puberty and realized that while you may still like Saturday morning cartoons, the commercials annoyed you rather than interested. Or perhaps you tried to watch The Tonight Show before Jay Leno was replaced and realized every joke was for the geriatric crowd. Reading today's press release from Activision really demonstrated to me that while I may enjoy rhythm games, Band Hero is not being marketed to me. Band Hero is the long lost love child of Guitar Hero: World Tour and High School Musical. Read More…

OnLive Will Live
by Kevin [ Thursday, 1st of October 2009 - 04:40 PM ]
With the beta testing of this game-on-demand service launching not too long ago, it seems that OnLive has picked up even more steam and, perhaps, more ammunition against naysayers. Investors have gathered around the service and now include: AT&T Media Holdings, Lauder Partners and Maverick Capitol. These investors joined the ranks of other such partners as Warner Bros., who believe there may be a future in this. Yesterday a release from the CEO, via the official site, sounded as enthusiastic as ever: "Big news today — OnLive has closed a major round of funding with participation from AT&T Media Holdings, Inc.
