Review — Pumpkin Jack
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 24th of February 2021 - 08:00 PM ]
Pumpkin Jack We sit down and review Pumpkin Jack. A spooky action-platformer that feels a little familiar. Here is our review of Pumpkin Jack While Pumpkin Jack may have been released a few months ago on the various other platforms, it did not get to try to shine on the PS4 until now. Yes, this game is currently out on the consoles here and it looks as if Headup Games was trying to take the time to make sure it worked well here. That can be a bit of a benefit for those looking to have a game on their system of choice while others vet out any bugs that could be there. Now we have Pumpkin Jack on this new platform and we are diving in with a review of the game. Read More...

Review — The Medium
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 19th of February 2021 - 10:00 PM ]
Medium We sit down and review The Medium. A new horror game that has us balancing two different worlds. Here is our review of The Medium The horror titles keep flowing out from Bloober Team and they keep moving away from the walking simulators we have seen many times before the launch of The Medium. This being the latest in the line of titles from the studio as they try new things to engage the gamers and give us more compelling and frightening stories to enjoy. The big thing here in The Medium being the use of a Dual World mechanic where the character exists in two different locations at the same time and we must navigate it accordingly. Read More...

Review — Werewolf: The Apocalypse — Earthblood
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 4th of February 2021 - 06:00 PM ]
Werewolf We sit down and review Werewolf: The Apocalypse — Earthblood. The latest action game for the World Of Darkness setting. Here is our review of this Werewolf title The moon is now full in the World Of Darkness and the release of Werewolf: The Apocalypse — Earthblood is finally here for us all to explore. We have seen some of the other IPs get some interactive book style games out there, but Cyanide wants to dive into the ferocity of the creatures and give us an action-oriented game with some RPG features mixed in. If there ever was an IP to do that, it would be Werewolf: The Apocalypse. Read More...

Review — Iris.Fall
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 13th of January 2021 - 10:00 PM ]
Iris.Fall We sit down and review Iris.Fall. A puzzle game all about the light and shadows. Here is our review of Iris.Fall In a world of fast-paced shooters and gritty adventure games, it is nice to see titles like Iris.Fall have a chance to get out there and shine. Sure, it had its time on the PC a little bit ago, but it felt like it went under the radar for many out there and it is time for NExT Studios to give all of the PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch games a chance to experience what this puzzle game has to offer. This is why we are here yet again to dive into Iris.Fall and give you our review on how the game holds up and managed to handle on the consoles we are all gathering around currently. Read More...

Review — Immortals Fenyx Rising
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 9th of December 2020 - 10:00 PM ]
Immortals We sit down and review Immortals Fenyx Rising. Another take on the Greek stories with a fun platforming twist. Here is our review of Immortals Fenyx Rising It has seemed a bit on the few and far side of things for Ubisoft to lean into a title that is not one of their established IPs as of yet, but here we are with Immortals Fenyx Rising. A new platformer out there with some fun little twists mixed into it all while it takes a fun approach at telling some of the Ancient Greek stories. A topic that is always near and dear to my heart here and will get some close attention. Read More...

Review — Spirit Of The North: Enhanced Edition
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 4th of December 2020 - 10:00 PM ]
Observer We sit down and review Spirit Of The North. A journey through the Icelandic lands for a new generation. Here is our review of Spirit Of The North It has been a while since Spirit Of The North first released and some of us out there had a chance to experience it. It is a very atmospheric title that has us solving puzzles along with some beautiful landscapes. Something that Infuse Studio set out to make look just as pretty as it was engaging. Since then, we have seen the launch of the PS5 and that means that things could be getting prettier and we have a new reason to check back in on the game. Read More...

Review — Observer: System Redux
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 2nd of December 2020 - 10:00 PM ]
Observer We sit down and review Observer: System Redux. A new version of a dark cyberpunk story from before. Here is our review of Observer: System Redux Talk about a title that needed to be brought forward into the next generation of systems and hardware and now we have it with Observer: System Redux. This would be that interesting horror title from Bloober Team that also happens to be set in a cyberpunk universe and uses the voice and likeness of the late Rutger Hauer. If you have been paying attention here, then you should know all of this extremely well. Read More...

Review — Amnesia: Rebirth
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 30th of November 2020 - 10:00 PM ]
Amnesia We sit down and review Amnesia: Rebirth. Another dive into the horrors of the walking sim IP. Here is our review of Amnesia: Rebirth If you were looking for some more frights to have in general, then you might have had an eye on Amnesia: Rebirth and if you should add it to the smaller list of those titles around this time of year. Sure, this one from Frictional Games may have come out just a bit ago, but that does not mean that we cannot carry the horror on just a bit longer on the PS4 and PC. The PS5 is in that list if you want to play Amnesia: Rebirth through the backward compatibility functions too. Read More...

Review — Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 20th of November 2020 - 10:00 PM ]
Call Of Duty We sit down and review Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The next in the line will take us to a time that feels redacted. Here is our review of this Call Of Duty It is that time of year again, and I am not talking about the over-indulging of foodstuffs time, but it is time for the next Call Of Duty title to come out here and keep us all in the hands of Activision just a bit longer. As long as they and the developer of the cycle, Treyarch this time, keep bringing us quality gameplay we will keep playing it all. Now we get to dive back into a version of the game that comes with all of the multiplayer gameplay as usual, but also a solid campaign that will take us into an era that generally is quiet in entertainment. Review — Spider-Man: Miles Morales
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 18th of November 2020 - 10:00 PM ]
Spider-Man We sit down and review Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The next big story in the Spider-Verse lore. Here is our review of Spider-Man: Miles Morales There is no doubt that Spider-Man: Miles Morales was on everyone's list for this year as it helps to bridge the jump from PS4 to PS5 as well as give us part of the story many wanted after the big game from before. While not a sequel from Insomniac Games, it is an expansion that can be played on its own but you really do get the benefits of playing the last Spider-Man title too. That all said, it is time for us to dig into how this game does in the grand scheme of things and if it is worth paying the price now or waiting down the line until you too can get it on the PS5. Review — Ghostrunner
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 16th of November 2020 - 10:00 PM ]
Ghostrunner We sit down and review Ghostrunner. A new platforming and parkour title in the realm of the Cyberpunk style. Here is our review of Ghostrunner There are many titles coming out here in the cyberpunk style or genre, and here we go with another one called Ghostrunner to experience. It is not an RPG, RTS, or Hacking style game but a new one that takes us into a cyberpunk world from One More Level and a parkour-platforming title that has a lot of the "live-die-repeat" mixed in. All while getting to run around as a cyber ninja in a fantastical world where we bring a sword to a gunfight. Sit down and get ready, as here we go with our review for Ghostrunner in its current state and place in the world. Read More...

Review — Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of November 2020 - 08:00 PM ]
Assassin’s Creed We sit down and review Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The assassin sage continues with us heading to the time of Vikings. Here is our review of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla The crazy saga continues as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is out there and ready for us all to carry on the way of the assassin but with Vikings this time. One of the many points in history that fans have been demanding Ubisoft brings us for the franchise and now it is here in all of its glory. At least, presumed glory, which is why we are here with our review to let you know for certain. Read More...

Review — Watch Dogs: Legion
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 4th of November 2020 - 08:00 PM ]
Watch Dogs We sit down and review Watch Dogs: Legion. The next and most ambitious title in the hacking franchise. Here is our review of Watch Dogs: Legion We have all waited after so much time and Watch Dogs: Legion is finally here and out there for us all to experience. The third main title in the franchise with this one being touted as one of the more ambitious titles that Ubisoft is placing out there. The biggest culprit for that claim being that and character we see in this world of Watch Dogs can be our main character and that can shift as we hack our way through the story. A nice selling point, but how does it all handle at the end of the day. Read More...

Review — A Tale Of Paper
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 28th of October 2020 - 07:00 PM ]
A Tale Of Paper We sit down and review A Tale Of Paper. A new platformer where we take on the role of a boy of paper. Here is our review of A Tale Of Paper The indie titles keep rolling out here with A Tale Of Paper being the next one on our list for the PS4. It caught our eye not that long ago when we first saw that Open House Games was going to be able to give the game a shot with the help of the PlayStation program designed to help out smaller studios. That is not the aspect of the game we are going to go in here, though, as it is out there and we had the chance to give it a solid play playthrough here. Sit back and get ready, as here we go with our review for A Tale Of Paper so you can figure out if it will be worth your time and money. Read More...

Review — The Signifier
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 21st of October 2020 - 09:00 PM ]
Signifier We sit down and review The Signifier. An investigation game with some interesting future tech mixed in. Here is our review of The Signifier The tech-noir title is finally out there with The Signifier and gamers can be ready to dive right into it all. This would be the latest from Playmestudio and Raw Fury that asks a few interesting questions about AI and human memory. Well, at least some of our perceptions about it as we try to make heads and tails of the latest case that the protagonist is on here. All while getting the traditional mind-bending visuals and gameplay that games like The Signifier normally bring us. Read More...
