Over in Japan, a super rare Famicom (NES) title has sold at auction for over ¥401,010, which converts to roughly $4,250. The title of said game is Kikenbutsu no Yasashii Butsuri to Kagaku, or “The Tender Physics & Science of Explosive Materials”. While it sounds like it could possibly be of eroge nature, it sadly is not. It was used in training for employees of Idemitsu Kosan Ltd.and developed by well known publisher Konami. Read More...

Final Fantasy XIII Demo Yes, you read the above title right. There will be a demo for Square-Enix's new Final Fantasy out early next year. How early? This last weekend, I joined my fellow A-KON 19 goers in a gathering of monsterous proportions. After 3 long hours of waiting, dehydration, an upset firemarshal and plently of waiting in line, 669* of us broke the record, "MOST PEOPLE DRESSED AS VIDEOGAME CHARACTERS IN ONE GATHERING". Now although the number was only 669*, I can assure you that the total number of people qualified at the con was in the 1,000s.I was proud to be amongst the many who went through an afternoon of choas to get the job done. NES Case Mod Into NES Cartridge At first when I saw this, it looked like some one had just destroyed a NES Cartridge. Then I delved deeper into what actually went down. They actually took all the insides of the NES system and stuffed it into the Super Mario Cartridge. Apparently this is possible even with the size of the original case of the NES. Makes you wonder why they needed so much space in the older versions of the system. I almost want to buy an old system and such just to try this out. Read More...
