ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda, of Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls fame, has purchased id Software, of Doom, Wolfenstein, Quake, and Commander Keen fame. The move was surprising, as more people have been questioning who was going to buy Midway rather than who was going to buy id. Wow, the dark brooding hero has put on a few pounds since last we saw him! Max Payne, who is now bald and sporting a pretty fierce beard, is back and in full force and gracing the cover of Game Informer.  Not only that, the guy is addicted to pain killers. Who didn't see that one coming? Max Payne 3 takes place in Sao Paolo, Brazil, with "fully destructible environments". 4MM games is a new gaming company founded by the original co-founders of Rockstar Games Jamie King and Gary Foreman.  Best known for their creation of Grand Theft Auto, Midnight club racing, Bully and Max Payne. “I was hugely honored to be approached by talent of Jamie and Gary’s caliber to co-found 4mm Games,” said Nicholas Perrett, Chief Executive Officer of 4mm Games. The long awaited Max Payne 3 has been confirmed and is already in development for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The story takes place sometime after the second one where Max Payne is now a retired police detective left in a world of corruption and violence.Founder of Rockstar Games, Sam Houser states that this will be a new chapter in Max's life and that this is Max as we've never seen him before. It was announced today that Sam&Max Surfin' The Highway has been nominated for an Eisner Award for Best Graphic Album - Reprint by The Eisner Award Committee. The Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards is a prize that gives recognition for creative achievements within the comic industry. Sam & Max are back in their second collection of episodes appropriately titled, Sam & Max: Season Two. For those who don't know, Sam & Max are a detective duo, calling themselves "the freelance police", based off of the comic series created by Steve Purcell. Sam, a 6-foot dog in stereotypical detective attire, and Max, a rabbit with a pension for violence, solve crimes without any regard for the law and rarely without conflict. Mark Wahlberg, the guy playing Max Payne in the up coming movie has said in a recent interview that he has never actually played Max Payne before.     "I got more responsibility now than I've ever had with the kids and everything else. I don't want to be spending 14 hours on the videogame and then eight hours on the set. Spore gets sexier and sexier Today Apple showed off applications that are being made with the new developer sdk for the iPhone. All iPhone customers will be receiving a free update in June to be able to download the applications. Until June, the program is in beta. Games will also be coming to the iPhone. Full versions of both Super Monkey Ball and Spore were shown and playable on the iPhone. EA states that the full version of Spore will be released for the iPhone. Read More...
