Dead Space 2 Does Dark Void Right
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 1st of April 2010 - 01:41 PM ]
So if you were at PAX East last week, or at least following the official Dead Space Twitter account, you might have had the chance to catch a glimpse of what is to bee seen of the Dead Space 2. Either by being in the conference room or via the live uStream of the event. But just in case you didn't get to catch it either way, or just don't want to sit through all the other stuff they talked about, here is the video of in-game footage. Not the best shot of the action, but it is something. Also not 22 minutes long. Read More...

PAX East: Civilization V
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 29th of March 2010 - 03:17 PM ]
So Civilization fans will be happy to know that 2K Games was kind enough to show at PAX East that they will be coming out with a brand new Civilization game called... Civilization V. Nice title huh? You are probably wondering why they would want to make another Civilization game after the success of Civilization IV? Just like any games with a huge success rate, there were features that were taken out due to time, money, or wasn't able to be fit into the previous titles. Yes there are DLC and companies could always add them in later, but what if the engine was not equip to handle the features for the DLC, than what? Read More...

PAX East: Mafia 2 Impression
by Binh Nguyen [ Sunday, 28th of March 2010 - 04:49 PM ]
Mafia originally came out on PC in 2002, then later on the orginial XBox, and then PlayStation 2 in 2004. Several years later 2K is releasing the second installment of the Mafia series with Mafia 2. Here at PAX East, we got the opportunity to sit down and play a demo of the game. Here is what I have to say about it. New Engine: 2K Czech has created the brand new Illusion engine for Mafia 2. I spoke to Dan, one of the lead Developers for Mafia 2, he told me that because of how the original Mafia was and how much the dev team wanted to in the first one but couldn't. Read More...

Naughty Bear Vs. Predator
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 19th of March 2010 - 09:14 PM ]
No, it is not a new Sega cross over game that they are working on. Although I might have just given them the idea now. I need to copyright these things. Seriously. What it is though, is a new teaser for 505 Games' new title Naughty Bear. A cute, cuddly, Hack-n-Slash mayhem game with what looks like twisted humor on par with Fairytale Fights. I'm sure you've heard of Naughty Bear by now, so I won't go into the details here. What I will do is introduce the video that is an homage to one of the classic shots used a few times. Read More...

Games in a Flash: Episode 2
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 18th of March 2010 - 06:40 PM ]
Happy hang-over-after St. Patrick's day. So you're probably at home/work with a bad hang over and not really in the mood to be productive. So today I bring you three flash games to keep you entertained and highly unproductive on the tail end of this fine drinking holiday. Cream Wolf Cream Wolf is really a throw back to the 80's (for those that remember) with pixel characters, midi music, and crazy color schemes. The game is simple, drive around in your ice cream truck playing your ice cream tune until kids come running to your truck (creepy). This starts the new mini-game where you need to stack the kids order, and try and keep it as nice looking as possible to get the most points. Read More...

Review: BioShock 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 5th of March 2010 - 08:49 PM ]
The time has finally come for us all to head back into Rapture and see what has transpired since the fall of Andrew Ryan and get some questions answered. Is the city still standing up well? Have the splicers died off? What happened to those pesky ADAM filled Little Sisters? All kinds of questions that we were left to wonder when escaping from the underwater city in the first BioShock. The Story: Picking up almost ten years after Jack escaped from Rapture, BioShock 2 starts you out in a similar WTF moment forcing the start of the game. You just kind of wake up as a Big Daddy and have only clouded memories on what the hell is going on. Read More...

Games In A Flash
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 4th of March 2010 - 09:32 PM ]
Flash games are the best way to kill time at work, at school, or waiting for the next Blizzard game to be released. With all the new console games coming out every week, we seem to overlook some developers that create entertaining games for FREE! Day after day folks are pouring out innovative and new game ideas all the time. I thought I would highlight a few of these for you readers out there, because their are some games out their that are too good to miss. Robot Unicorn Attack   Yes this game looks like it's for four year old girls and ponies (and the music is something from the 80's) but it's simplicity and fast paced gameplay make this a great way to kill that 15 minute break you have in the morning. Big Daddy Got Wood!
by Binh Nguyen [ Friday, 26th of February 2010 - 10:34 PM ]
Ever been so obsessed with a game or character that you needed to draw them or have it everywhere? Myself, I have anime, Super Sentai stuff on my PC, PSP Go, toys (or in Mike's case, dolls), etc. Well this Japanese man takes things to a whole new level as he takes the time to carve out a nearly life size wooden statue of Big Daddy from BioShock. In this nearly ten minute video, you will see how much detail this Japanese Jason took to create Big Daddy. I could not imagine how long it probably took him to finish the project, but needless to say it is worth a watch. Read More...

Fly Planes Into Buildings With Greed Corp
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of February 2010 - 12:34 PM ]
Now there is a great addition I though was still 15.2 years away, a ways off from the required 23.7, from being funny. But as shown in the launch trailer for Greed Corp, a game W!Games just released in the wilds, you get to do just that. It even looks like a basic attack to use in this interesting new RTS for the PSN and XBLA. Who wouldn't want to relive that over and over? All joking aside now, I really do mean that this game looks interesting. Read More...

Review: Dante's Inferno
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 18th of February 2010 - 02:11 AM ]
Hell is a touchy subject. It has been and always will be. It was much worse to even speak about it back when Dante Alighieri wrote The Divine Comedy where he mapped out the circles of Heaven and Hell for all those God fearing Christians to know exactly what he thought was in store for humanity after they shed their mortal coil. But at least he made it easy to disseminate between the three areas one soul could go to. Now that the history lesson is over, let's look at where that has gone now, EA and Visceral Games', Dante's Inferno. Read More...

Darksiding With A Demo
by Kevin [ Wednesday, 17th of February 2010 - 03:02 PM ]
Darksiders, a game that seemed to have trouble finding a general consensus at first, but did manage several very positive reviews is bringing a 90-minute demo to the PlayStation 3 and XBox 360 on Feb. 25th. The demo will have the Twilight Cathedral level and will include some of the puzzles that have divided the gaming crowd as well as some equipment to find and even a couple of boss battles. Though the game has already shipped a million units, will a demo bring more gamers to the table ready to take on the mantle of War? Time will tell next week when the demo drops. Read More...
