Live Action Assassin's Creed Is Here
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 27th of October 2009 - 10:07 PM ]
We spoke about the short film for Assassin's Creed 2 hitting the web today. Also how it will only be available on Ubisoft's youtube account for the next 24 hours, according to them. Well here it is in all of it's live action grandeur. Watch it and marvel at the quality they placed into this short history of Ezio. Now that you have had a chance to take a gander, what do you think? I'd say they have actually gone above and beyond with this little clip. Read More...

Review: Brütal Legend
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 27th of October 2009 - 07:55 PM ]
It's time to transport yourself back to the time of Metal and Rock. Back when the ancient gods of Metal ruled the universe and gave birth to everything we now know as Metal music and Hard Rock. A time where Eddie Riggs ends up and needs to help the humans and their allies bring down the horrors of Gloom Metal and Emo-itude. Oh and take down some big, ugly demons along the way to bring down The Lord of Darkness. Err I mean, Pennywise. Read More...

Review: Borderlands
by Kevin [ Thursday, 22nd of October 2009 - 09:00 PM ]
Borderlands Review: A Cell Shaded Grind Loot. Every role playing game experience has it in abundance. It's the life's blood that drives a player to move forward. For that next precious piece of armor, that dominating piece of weaponry, or that elaborate spell scroll with it's twenty minute animation sequence. It's what the love-hate relationship of most RPGs is based on. Why I had so much fun with Borderlands in spite of this is due to the fact that Borderlands is using the RPG mechanism to compliment the existing FPS experience and not trying to cram it down the player's throats. by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 21st of October 2009 - 09:33 PM ]
Social Networking strikes again! On the Civilization Fanatics' Forums Sid Meier, legendary creator all thing Civilization, has just announced that they will be creating a Civilization project called Civilization® Network™ via Facebook. Thats right, one of your favorite social networking sites will now encompass the engrossing game of Civilization. The game will be Free-to-play, which is a change from all the "mini-transaction" games we see all over Facebook currently. According to Sid, the game is slated for a 2010 full release: I wanted to let you know we’ll soon be looking for beta testers to help us develop a unique new way to play Civilization. Read More...

Review: Saw: The Video Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 20th of October 2009 - 03:37 PM ]
Now I want to start out that this is not a movie based game, at least like all the other movie based games that get pumped out onto the store shelves when a new feature film or the film it is based on is about to hit the big screen. I felt we needed to open with that, because Saw: The Videogame shares only the title and is a continuation off the first film. It is not based of any of the films that have come out or are coming out. It should be considered Saw 1. Read More...

Earthworm Jim Whips It Good!
by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 19th of October 2009 - 11:02 PM ]
I remember Jim. The funny earthworm with bionic suit that made so many tounge-in-cheek jokes I could hardly stand it. I had the action figure, I watched the cartoon. I played it on every console that it was available for. Now Jim is returning, guns and blazin', to consoles and handhelds all over the world. Cow launching, check. Laser guns, Check. Read More...

Jurassic: The Hunted Is Not The 5th Jurassic Park Film
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Sunday, 18th of October 2009 - 02:39 PM ]
So what is this game then if it isn't the next IP for the Jurassic Park franchise? Pretty much another dinosaur shooter style game with one major twist that others do not have. What would this twist be? Not that you are another space marine traveled through time and space and ends up in a jurassic era, but that you are a "normalish" adventurer and weapons master. That and you have been transported back in time with loads of ammo and weapons to hunt and kill the monstrous and angry dinosaurs of the jurassic era, via the Bermuda Triangle. Yep, that's right. Oh The Brütality Of Assassin's Creed 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 17th of October 2009 - 04:17 PM ]
The combat in the first Assassin's Creed was nothing to write home to mom about. You had the few weapons and the few stances and moves you could employ. You couldn't even use you hidden blades for anything other assassinations and counter moves. It just wasn't all that extravagant. This was something that Ubisoft definitely wanted to fix. That and the variety of guards that you had to take down to move about the game world. Something I know I wished for when going through the first play through. Read More...

When Aliens & Predators Fight, It Sucks To Be Human
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 16th of October 2009 - 08:52 PM ]
Being a lowly space marine seems like the worst thing to be in Aliens Vs. Predator. Just by watching the trailer down below, you get a great sense that most people will only play the Human portion if they are in for a challenge or an Achievement/Trophy whore. I mean come on, the human they show through out the clip is scared poopless the entire clip. To the point where it begs the question right? Then again, I'd be the same way if I was a lowly space marine going up against a retardababy, advanced race of space hunters or even a ridiculously agile and stealthy race of creatures that bleed acid. The game isn't available until the beginning of next month but BioWare is already working on a 2D project slated for sometime in October to wet our appetites. Blood, monsters, and character sheets, all in classic 2D! Dragon Age Journeys: Deep Roads is being created by EA2D, a new studio out of the EA franchise that specializes in flash based games. DJ Hero Renegade 2-CD Pack-in Track List Released
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 15th of October 2009 - 03:49 PM ]
Yesterday, Activision released the track listing for the bonus 2-CD pack of Jay-Z and Eminem for the DJ Hero Renegade Edition. As a person who is readily suspicious of special editions and collector's edition, I had my doubts about DJ Hero's special pack-in when I saw that the jump in price from the regular edition was 80 US Dollars. With Wednesday's track listing release for the big addition to the original product and what exactly it will be, it really begs the question if what you're getting is worth the price of admission. Looking at Gamestop's web listing for DJ Hero Renegade Edition, you get: DJ Hero Renegade Edition Includes the following items: DJ Hero Game Renegade Turntable Controller featuring premium metal controls and finish Hardshell Turntable Carrying Case that converts to performance-ready DJ stand Exclusive JAY-Z and EMINEM 2-CD pack featuring unreleased tracks and collectible case designed by artist Shepard Fairey Looking at the track listing of the 2-CD set and being a fan, albeit not a huge stalker-level fan, I was really impressed at what is being included especially a brand new track.
