Review — The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 21st of July 2015 - 07:00 PM ]
We Sit Down And Review The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter. Is It Worth Your Time? Did it upgrade to the new engine and platform well? Here's Our Review of The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter Originally The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter came out on the PC last year using the Unreal 3 Engine to extremely decent reviews. It is an interesting indie story game from The Astronauts that is more of an exploration experience and puzzle solving thing than anything you may think given the trailers but a game none the less. The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter was well received none the less and this drove the team to upgrade the game to Unreal 4 engine as well as bring it to the PS4. Read More...

Dreams Can Come True As Dream Has A Launch Date Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 17th of July 2015 - 07:00 PM ]
Indie game Dream now has a release date after two long years of being up on Steam Early Access bringing the developer’s dream of Dream being a reality to life It looks like dreams can come true as the narrative indie game Dream has an official release date and it is July 31st. This may not seem like a huge deal as it is a smaller title but for Hypersloth Games this is a huge success as they have been trying to get things official for almost two years now. Now Dream is becoming a reality and available for all of those PC gamers out there who are interested in giving this mind-bending adventure title a go. Think of it like diving into the mind of a not-so-mad-man where you will have to overcome the nightmares and dreams he is having. Read More...

The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter Is Appearing On PS4 Real Soon
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 6th of July 2015 - 07:00 PM ]
Looks like the wait is over as the PS4 version of The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter is slated for a July 15th release date now Hopefully by now all of you reading this know about The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter as it released on PC last year and was well received by many. This would be that amazing looking supernatural adventure title created by The Astronauts that even we spoke highly of back in the day. This was also back when we heard it was being redone in the Unreal 4 engine and also getting a PS4 release scheduled but there was never any word on when after all the great reviews began pouring in for the first release of The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter. All of that changes now. Read More...

It's Time To See What The Vanishing of Ethan Carter Is All About
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 22nd of August 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
A new bit of gameplay for The Vanishing of Ethan Carter has been released showing off some of the core mechanics and story of the game When I first heard about The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter I kind of let it fall a bit to the side of the metaphoric video game road. I didn't disregard the game completely but with the little description I was given it just wasn't something that caught my eye and sucked me in. That was at least until we got some new gameplay footage for The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter and got to fully see what we will be doing on our PCs and PS4s in the coming months. Sooner on the PC but that is a whole other discussion. Read More...

Review: Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 17th of September 2012 - 04:05 PM ]
Here we go with another Transformers game. They are seriously coming out like Call Of Duty titles now. One every year and hey why not, obviously we like them enough to line the pockets of the developer's and publisher's pockets with greenbacks. So how does Transformers: Fall of Cybertron fair? Let's see. Story The Autobots are serious in trying to leave Cybertron this time around and are getting there Ark ready to go. Wouldn't you know it that those damned Decepticons want to stop them and do a great job at it. Read More...

Review: PDP's Collector's Edition Tron Wii Remote
by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 17th of January 2011 - 09:46 PM ]
By Matthew Dockendorf I recently received an awesome piece of equipment from the company PDP gaming. Many out there know them as the creators of Afterglow controllers. I got a chance to test one of their newer products, the Collector's Edition Light up Tron Wii remote. First of all, everything about it looks fantastic. The sleek black blue and white remote came with an easy open magnetic black collectors box, complete with rainbow holographic certificate of authenticity on the inside lid. I won't lie. Read More...

Review: Transformers: War for Cybertron
by Binh Nguyen [ Tuesday, 6th of July 2010 - 08:18 PM ]
When Activision first announced that High Moon Studios would be making a Transformers game, I was a bit skeptical. That is, until I saw the trailer and screen shots of the game. Granted it is not the Transformers we all, or at least most of us, know and love. And no, I do not mean the recent live-action Transformers movie. I am talking about the 80's cartoon series, including the full length movie where I first cried over the fact that Optimus Prime died in the epic battle with Megatron*. Unlike the most recent movie-based Transformers game, High Moon Studio took everything we love about Transformers and created a 3rd person shooter with a great story. Read More...

E3: TRON Evolution - Welcome to the Grid
by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 18th of June 2010 - 12:52 AM ]
Lightcycles. I get excited just hearing the word. One of the most anticipated movies of 2010, TRON: Legacy, is getting it's own video game (of course). Brought to us by Disney Interactive and developed by Propoganda Games (Turok), TRON: Evolution is tied in closely to the movie and it's storyline, even using the same company that provides the film's CG animations to create the awesome trailer below. We're going to get it all, Lightcycles, disc-based combat, parkour, and some great visual effects. Coming to XBox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3 and scheduled for release this Holiday 2010, just in time for TRON: Legacy to start appearing in theaters. Read More...

CES 2010 Impression: Psyko 5.1
by Binh Nguyen [ Saturday, 9th of January 2010 - 07:11 PM ]
Psyko Audio may not be the first to release a 5.1 headset and they certainly will not be the last, but Psyko 5.1 was named one of the CES best of 2009. Does this new headset deserve such a title? Well I decided to give them a visit while I am here at CES 2010 and see how well the headphones are shaping up. I met up with James Hildebrandt, CEO and Head of Psyko Audio, and he gave me the rundown on the headset.  The first thing he had me do was listen to some music from the Blue Men Group for a full two minutes as he pointed out where the music was coming from the headset indicator. CES 2010: nVidia Press Conference
by Binh Nguyen [ Saturday, 9th of January 2010 - 05:02 AM ]
As CES 2010 is now under way, so are the many news and notes that are coming out of the convention. The first event that Brian and I went to was the nVidia Press Conference. As we went to sit down we were given 3D glasses for a part of the conference. As the wait finally ended and the music started to kick into high gear, so did the montage that nVidia put together. The montage began with video games and movies but wasn't in 3D yet. After the montage was over, the President of nVidia, Jen-Hsun Huang came out and talked about not only the evolution of desktop PC (personal computers) but also the evolution of portable PC in general. A Whole New Medal of Honor
by Binh Nguyen [ Wednesday, 2nd of December 2009 - 09:02 PM ]
Are you ready for another Medal of Honor game? Well it has been a while since we have seen action in the Medal of Honor universe. What if I told you that this Medal of Honor won’t take place in World War II, but instead it takes place in modern era?  Electronic Arts Inc. announced today that in 2010 an all-new Medal of Honor will introduce the Tier 1 Operator, a relatively unknown entity directly under the National Command Authority who takes on missions no one else can handle. EA has been working closely with Tier 1 Operators from the US Special Operations Community since the earliest stages of development to create the most authentic modern war experience. Greg Goodrich, Executive Producer of Medal of Honor had this to say, “When we first set out to reinvent Medal of Honor, we wanted to stay true to its roots of authenticity and respect for the soldier, but bring it into today’s war. Shh. We Got Your Tron Tease. Don't Tell...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 25th of November 2009 - 04:52 AM ]
While not overly impressive as a full video of gameplay or what is going on the game, that will come later at the VGA's, what we do have is a little sneak peek at what the video game of a movie about a killer video game may be have with in the lines of code. Yea, that was a stretch for a very lack luster attempt at a joke. In any instance, if you are interested in being teased with very little actual game play or story shots for the game part of the new film Tron, then below is something for you. It is a short promo showing off a little bit of the fact that there will be light cycles in the game. Read More...

Mass Effect 2 Gets Dated
by Ben Brody [ Sunday, 18th of October 2009 - 04:36 AM ]
Mass Effect 2 now has a solid release date: January 26, 2010. While it's anybody's guess whether or not it actually comes out that day, it can be safe to assume that EA would be idiots to announce such a specific release date then push it back (again). Then again, we've all seen stranger things. The game, which is a direct sequel to 2007's Mass Effect, still features commander Shepard, who for some reason has lost all his abilities from the first game, trying to figure out why large colonies of humans are mysteriously vanishing (geth maybe?) The game will take place 2 years after the first Mass Effect (and was originally supposed to be released 2 years after as well, but who wants to go up against Modern Warfare 2). The game will utilize your save-data from the first game, converting any decisions you may have made for better or for worse. Read More...
