This Week In Video Games 8/1/22 — 8/5/22
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 5th of August 2022 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week There we go wrapping up this week of video games, even if we did dive into a few other things beyond all of that. Given that we just wrapped SDCC and we have Gamescom rolling up on us, it is a bit of a surprise we did not just get lost in all of it. With Marvel’s Midnight Suns and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves adding into this week's fun too. I fully recommend looking in on Star Trek: Resurgence and a few of the other lesser-known video games we have coming down the pipes. Read More...

Star Trek: Resurgence Is Going To Have Much More Going On Under The Hood
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 2nd of August 2022 - 09:00 PM ]
Star Trek While at SDCC, I was able to see Star Trek: Resurgence in a more intimate setting. Here is my take on the latest for Star Trek: Resurgence It has been a bit of time since Star Trek: Resurgence was revealed to the world and showed that we could hold out hope to take command of a different vessel in the setting's universe. Not too much was revealed at that time, but it looks like that was for good reason with Dramatic Labs working hard to make sure the team's interactive storytelling pedigree was put to good use. That is why it was a solid treat to see some live gameplay for Star Trek: Resurgence out at SDCC this year, as well as getting to sit down with two of the game's writers Dan Martin and Andrew Grant. Drinks We Had To Celebrate Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 2nd of August 2022 - 07:00 PM ]
Dungeons & Dragons The Dungeons & Dragons tavern was in full form at SDCC to help celebrate Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves We brought it up just before SDCC that there was going to be a full tavern built to help promote the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves film. All of that but also to give us all a bit of a taste of how the game is brought to life instead of just the theater of the mind that we have been going with for decades now. If you have played Dungeons & Dragons at all, I am sure you have had moments where you have been in some form of tavern or inn to help plan and recruit your party. There is a reason it is a trope for the game and we had a chance to walk around and enjoy some of the drinks out there at SDCC. Read More...

Funko Is Getting Further Into The Video Game Market
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 1st of August 2022 - 09:00 PM ]
Funko Funko announced during SDCC that they were setting out to bring Funko further into the video game industry I am sure that by now most out there have heard of or are aware of Funko before now. That would be the company out there that makes all of those fun vinyl Pop! figures among many other nerd/geek culture collectibles out there. They have also dipped a bit of their toes in the past with some video games, but during SDCC this year, they let loose that they are teaming up to bring a full AAA title to the gaming community with the help of 10:10 Games. Not just in the way it has been before where other teams have made something in their universe while just using the Pop! Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 29th of July 2022 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week It is another wrap on another week of video games and other news we had to offer up. Especially after trying to recover from everything that SDCC had to offer and then some. Thankfully, we still had some fun news for Gotham Knights, Destroy All Humans 2, and Call Of Duty: Warzone in the mix to help make it easier to get through. The recovery and not the massive amount of video games we are still working our way through. Read More...

Try A Little Smash Up With Spider-Man In Marvel’s Midnight Suns
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 27th of July 2022 - 05:00 PM ]
Midnight Suns The next hero for Marvel’s Midnight Suns was released during SDCC with Spider-Man joining the roster of this Midnight Suns More of the Midnight Suns are being held off here out of SDCC this year with the next character in the upcoming video game getting his own showcasing. That character is Spider-Man, who is not normally part of the core roster, but another one that Firaxis Games is giving us to help save the world from the horrors that are incoming. Now, we have a nice little introduction to Spidie in Marvel’s Midnight Suns and how he will play quite a bit differently than all of the others shown off so far. We do need to get a better grasp on all of it before October 7th when it hits the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 26th of July 2022 - 07:00 PM ]
Gotham Knights Batgirl was out in full force for Gotham Knights out at SDCC and we get a bit more of the gameplay to enjoy for Gotham Knights Obviously, out at SDCC this year, we had all kinds of heroes running around and so much news flooding into us for all forms of fandom. Gotham Knights was teased before and we had a massive drop out there with WB Games Montréal offering up a solid look at Batgirl in the mix of the game before October 25th when it hits the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Batgirl is not anything we did not know was coming, but now we have the showing of how she will be out there doing what Batman used to do. All along the way to earn her place in the Gotham Knights and become one of the saviors of Gotham and how she will make sure the legacy carries on after Knighthood. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 15th of July 2022 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week That wraps one more week out here for all of the video games we have coming and now all of the extras we will see at SDCC next week. There is a whole lot for that already and that is ignoring all of the fun that we have had for Evil Dead: The Games, Bayonetta 3, and MultiVerus the week. So many video games and almost no time to cover them all. Especially since we are branching out a bit more to a few of the other pop culture and gaming things going on too. Read More...

Get Ready For A Fight At SDCC With Street Fighter 6
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 11th of July 2022 - 09:00 PM ]
Street Fighter Street Fighter 6 will be on display at SDCC this year along with various other titles from Capcom to enjoy It would not be an SDCC if Capcom was not out there and showing off all of their various wares or hyping up the next big Street Fighter title out there. Sometimes this is hyping up one that is already out there, but in the case of this year, we will be seeing a version of the upcoming title in the mix. Not only seeing it in the form of a developer's panel, but Street Fighter 6 will be playable on the show floor for those lucky enough to be able to attend SDCC next week. It will not be the full title, but a solid demo that will let us all play around with Luke, Jaime, Ryu, and Chun-Li in a fun little environment. Read More...

Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week It was a shorter week when it came to everything and all of our video games here, but gods was it a crazy filled one. Not only did we get more of the hype for SDCC coming up and the various gaming elements that will be out there after three years. Then we add in the God Of War: Ragnarök release date and a new Terminator game that is in the works. One that we have not seen in our video games for the IP as of yet. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 5th of July 2022 - 09:00 PM ]
Nintendo Nintendo fans will have more to play out at SDCC with the Nintendo Road Trip making a stop at this year’s con One of the staples that we have had at SDCC over the years has been Nintendo showing up with all forms of games and giving the con-goers a nice little lounge to take a load off and enjoy some games. This staple is now making its way back by making a stop in San Diego during the current Road Trip event that is about to kick off at the end of the week. That is good news for those that cannot make it to SDCC this year so they can take part in the Nintendo Switch Road Trip too. Read More...
