Armored Core For Answer PS3 Review
by Jesse [ Monday, 15th of December 2008 - 08:22 PM ]
Give a video game franchise enough time and eventually it stops being about attracting new fans and the focus switches to catering to the hardcore fanbase. It happened to the Dynasty Warriors series, it happened to pretty much any EA Sports series, and it happened to Armored Core. So with the release of Armored Core For Answer, the thirteenth game in the series, it’s no surprise that even with Ubisoft taking over as publishers, developers From Software have stuck with the two basic elements of an Armored Core game. Fast and crazy action and a ton of customization. As a result, it pretty much means that if you’re a fan, you’ll still like this game even if you did buy Armored Core 4 sometime over the course of the last twelve months. Read More...

[PC Review] Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 15th of December 2008 - 04:06 AM ]
Episodes 1-4 So I want to preface this review with a little something. I am a casual Strong Bad fan. By that I mean that I watch the flash videos every now and then and am not so entrenched into the whole Strong Bad world or Strongbaddia world if you will. I thought this important so the hard core fans don’t say I am leaning one way or the other. With that said, here we go. For the most part this game plays through, via “episodes,” much like the clips of flash video. Read More...

Quantum of Solace PS3 Review
by Jesse [ Tuesday, 9th of December 2008 - 07:54 PM ]
The last time we saw a James Bond video game that tied into a movie was the release of The World is Not Enough in November of 2000 and it wasn’t so hot. Since then there have been a handful of very good games based on original Bond stories and then of course there was an adaptation of From Russia with Love which once again fell a little short of expectations. But now Bond is going through a reboot phase in the movies, and with the license switching hands from EA to Activision, the latest Bond game Quantum of Solace, has gone through some similar changes. Being an Activision property and a shooting game, it’s probably no surprise that the game is built using the Call of Duty 4 engine but a lot of people were probably wondering would the game transfer over well. Only A Year Late...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 8th of December 2008 - 06:32 PM ]
PlayStation fiends finally get a second life One of the big rumors and let downs, so far, for Sony has been their new "Social Network" program, Home. It has had so many rumors about when the mass populace will be able to get their hands on it, it has made a lot of people stop caring about it. To top that off, Sony's very limited "Beta" for the program has also left a lot feeling left out. Don't worry you people, there isn't much that you are missing. Just having the early download. Game Over!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 8th of December 2008 - 06:18 PM ]
Exclusive Saw The Video Game Update So over a month ago, I reported on a game adaptation of the Film Saw. I was really excited, but reports are coming in that it was just given the cut, pardon the pun, much like 20 people from Brash Entertainment. A very sad thing, for both those 20 and the gaming community. Hey, it is always bad when a game that could be awesome gets cut. At least I thought it would be awesome. Read More...

Google Brings You Ninjas!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 19th of November 2008 - 11:47 PM ]
Spice up your inbox with colors and themes While trolling around the interwebs I stumbled across a nice little tidbit from Guild actress Felicia Day. GMail Themes! So I had to go see if I was one of these lucky few and low and behold there it was on one of my accounts. So not completely gaming news, but it is kind of cool geek news. But it looks like a select "few" people have been selected to take a gander at GMail's new Themes for their Beta of the service. No real details on when it will be wide release, but there are some really cool themes selected. Read More...

Valkyria Chronicles Already Set For Anime Adaptation
by Michael Camacho [ Thursday, 13th of November 2008 - 08:58 PM ]
Playstation 3 Strategy Action RPG, Valkyria Chronicles, is currently being adapted for an anime series due out in April of 2009. It is being produced by A-1 Pictures, who recently worked on Persona - Trinity Soul and Kannagi.  We do not know if it will follow the same animation style as the game, mixing 2D/3D, but it is highly unlikely it will completely imitate it. The last game from Sega development team, Overworks, to be adapted into an anime was Sakura Wars, which was met with much acclaim from fans. Valkyria Chronicles is set in a fictional Europe of the 1930s, located in the war ravaged country of Gallia, and the game recently saw a stateside release this past Novemeber 4th. Read More...

Halo 3 Recon is 5-6 Hours Long
by Sam [ Thursday, 13th of November 2008 - 07:08 PM ]
Those who got their hands on the December issue of Game Informer might have read about the upcoming Halo 3 expansion Halo 3: Recon. The game is in fact 3-5 hours long, which is very short. The game should also be a very low price. Bungie's Joe Staten says "We do not view this at a $60 title". Hopefully $20-$30. Also mentioned is the expansion will allow users to unlock previously unlockable Recon armor, if you completed the Vidmaster Challenge Achievement. Read More...

LittleBigUpdates
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 5th of November 2008 - 05:43 PM ]
I apologize now for the loads of news you will most likely be seeing surrounding this game. There is just so much and I get all kinds of details sent to me. More than any thing right now. So I'll preface that. But here are three interesting things that just popped up around LBP. LittleBigPlanet To Add Sticker Import From Hard Drive Might not sound all that cool, at least to some, but this is something that was originally stated was most likely never going to be an option within the game. What is that? Since I might not have been totally clear with the heading, looks like MM is working on a way to import images from the Hard Drive instead of just using your PSEye or USB Camera to get these images into your levels. I Want To Play A Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 28th of October 2008 - 04:16 PM ]
Saw Game By Halloween 2009 So as most of you are aware of, there is a film series called Saw. They are up to number V (that's 5 in Roman Numerals) now. With more in the works. But that isn't the big news here seeing as this is a gaming site. So why am I wasting your time writing this. Well filler right now. But more importantly, and game related, the people who brought you the Saw films have released a Press Release stating that they will have a game out by the time the Sixth movie hits the big screen. All with the premise of bridging the first two films together a bit better. Read More...
