The Callisto Is Offering Us A Murder Mystery Out In Virtual Space
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 4th of January 2022 - 08:00 PM ]
Callisto Have a new look at The Callisto and get ready to try to solve the murder mystery out in space on The Callisto Murder does seem to happen everywhere out there, and The Callisto is going to take us on a fun romp of all of that through space. All of which in a VR setting for the PC and not that GIB Games is working on killing someone off in space. That is just the premise of the title we are getting here and we can see just a bit more for The Callisto in the latest video out there. In addition, it is worth noting that it is not of the Protocol type of thing with this game, it just shares many of the same names and none of the dark horror coming out from the other title. This Week In Video Games 12/14/20 — 12/18/20
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 19th of December 2020 - 12:00 AM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week Things are starting to slow down and we can start to kick back and enjoy some of those video games we have out there. It is that time of year, and even though the awards of last week gave us some stuff to look at for The Callisto Protocol and a new Mass Effect, I have feeling things will be slowing down a lot more until the new year starts. It is how things have gone for a while here and I am sure it will carry on. All while giving us some alone time with our video games and to keep an eye on others like Hitman 3 and Wraith as we move into 2021. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 18th of December 2020 - 08:00 PM ]
Callisto Protocol A new version of The Callisto Protocol announcement is here to show how graphic The Callisto Protocol might be going Earlier in the week, we had the announcement for The Callisto Protocol and a fun new cinematic trailer out there. It is a new horror title coming out from Striking Distance Studios and Krafton for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2022. That means we did not have much to go on for The Callisto Protocol as of yet with it being so early in development. Given how the industry is, we have something new to see for the game this quickly after the original announcement. Read More...

The Callisto Protocol Is Bringing Survival Horror Into The Next-Generation
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 14th of December 2020 - 06:00 PM ]
Callisto Protocol A new horror game, The Callisto Protocol, is on its way with some major players behind the scenes for The Callisto Protocol It is going to be a bit of a wait, but we have a new horror coming at us with The Callisto Protocol. The wait being that the current timeline points it to a 2022 release with it poised to hit the PC and consoles at the time. All of which is time I am fine seeing Striking Distance Studios to take so we have some solid next-gen horror coming at us all. Something that is even more exciting when you also learn that some of the devs working on The Callisto Protocol are the same that made the Dead Space franchise so over-the-top with the fear. Splinter Cell Blacklist Goes Back To Its Roots
by Greg Tatterfield [ Friday, 12th of July 2013 - 04:59 PM ]
Many old school fans of Ubisoft's Splinter Cell series were disappointed with Conviction's heavier focus on action. Ubisoft realized this and added a new difficulty mode to Blacklist called Perfectionist Mode. Intended for Splinter Cell purists this mode removes your mark/execute ability and takes away your ability to see through walls with Sam's sonar goggles. This mode increases enemy difficulty in both stealth and combat as well as does not allow players to restock ammo at supply caches. This mode is really unique because it brings the series back to the original three games in the franchise where the only thing that you have to rely on is your night vision goggles and the shadows. Splinter Cell Blacklist PAX Prime Ghost Demo
by Greg Tatterfield [ Thursday, 6th of September 2012 - 05:21 PM ]
Over the weekend at PAX Prime Ubisoft showed off a new game play demo of Splinter Cell Blacklist. The demo was the same mission from E3 but this time it was a stealth play through. Ubisoft wanted to prove that you can still play through Blacklist using stealth like you played through every other game. Even with the ramped up action and lack of shadows the game still holds true to the series focus of stealth. The game finds the perfect balance between stealth and action. Read More...

The Ultimate Gaming Wishlist (8/19/09)
by Jesse [ Wednesday, 19th of August 2009 - 07:45 PM ]
Last week I discussed my feelings about downloadable content which is one of two things that have drastically risen in the last few years to become a common site in the video games industry. Today I want to take a look at the second which are Special Edition releases. Before I actually get to the different pieces that are actually packaged within, I’d like to share what I think should be the definition of various special editions because I’ve seen several different variations in my time. Obviously these are the Special Edition, Collector’s Edition, and Limited Edition. I know that for many people there really is no difference, but I disagree. Read More...

The Ultimate Gaming Wishlist (8/13/09)
by Jesse [ Thursday, 13th of August 2009 - 03:35 PM ]
Normally when I write a new installment for this series I tend to focus on a specific video game that I would like to see come to fruition. For the next two weeks though I’ve decided to change it up a little and discuss more general subjects. This week I’d like to discuss downloadable content with next week shifting focus to collector’s edition. Both are areas of video gaming that have become staples over the last few years and both have given us distinctive examples of what works and what doesn’t work. We’ve seen so many DLC packs and limited edition releases that I think you could create a perfect stencil that every developer and every publisher should follow because it would deliver the best extension of a game every time. The Ultimate Gaming Wishlist (8/6/09)
by Jesse [ Friday, 7th of August 2009 - 01:21 AM ]
In the past I’ve talked about some of the things that are universally cool. Things like ninjas, kung fu billionaires, the zombie apocalypse. Now I come to another one of these staples and that is a heist. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a law-abiding citizen and I believe that people are innately good and only a very small percentage of human beings are legitimate criminals. However having said that, no matter how much I would never go along with it in real life, I have to admit that part of me would be excited to be a part of a crew that takes down scores. And with so many movies that has successfully portrayed this kind of thing, Heat, Ocean’s Eleven, Public Enemies, etc. Read More...

The Ultimate Gaming Wishlist
by Jesse [ Friday, 31st of July 2009 - 02:52 PM ]
It only took two days for Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution to sink its hooks into me. I became addicted like no other game I’ve played before. But as much as I love Civ Rev, there are so many little things that could make it so much better. Before I get to the suggestions though I should mention, I’ve never really played any of the Civilization games that preceded Revolution so it’s entirely possible that the features I want to see were part of the formula prior to the franchise’s makeover. However having said that I found a lot of similarities between Civ Rev and a far less known PC game called Starships Unlimited. They are essentially the same game except where Civ Rev is focused on Earth and using historic civilizations, Starships Unlimited is set in a fictional universe and utilizes a variety of alien races along with humanity. The Ultimate Gaming Wishlist
by Jesse [ Friday, 24th of July 2009 - 06:26 AM ]
It’s no big secret that I’m about as much into comic books as I am video games, which is saying something. I’ve always felt that comics and video games are natural extensions of one another. That is why it’s easy for properties to cross over so that we have games that have been adapted from comics and vice versa. Marvel Comics is probably the best example of using a comic to create a video game. They have inspired the most adaptions. Read More...
