Callisto Protocol
A new horror game, The Callisto Protocol, is on its way with some major players behind the scenes for The Callisto Protocol
It is going to be a bit of a wait, but we have a new horror coming at us with The Callisto Protocol. The wait being that the current timeline points it to a 2022 release with it poised to hit the PC and consoles at the time. All of which is time I am fine seeing Striking Distance Studios to take so we have some solid next-gen horror coming at us all. Something that is even more exciting when you also learn that some of the devs working on The Callisto Protocol are the same that made the Dead Space franchise so over-the-top with the fear. That should give you a bit of the basics for the game before we head into what we had thrown at us here recently.
It does look like The Callisto Protocol is aiming for some high levels of body horror in the mix, but this is a cinematic trailer to let us know the game is coming and not actual gameplay. It does feel like the next-generation of systems should be able to make all of this be gameplay, but it really comes down to how well the devs do with crafting it all. Ignoring all of that, I do have to say that The Callisto Protocol does truly have some of the early Dead Space vibes to it all, which is when that IP was at its best. There also seems to be a dark version of this video that will be listed as a Red Banned trailer, so maybe things will get even darker than we could have assumed from this one here.
The Callisto Protocol — Cinematic Trailer Reveal
Today Striking Distance Studios and Krafton unveiled The Callisto Protocol at The Game Awards with a new cinematic trailer. Created by the team behind the blockbuster survival horror franchise Dead Space, The Callisto Protocol is an all-new take on the genre and will ship for PC and consoles in 2022.
Set on Jupiter’s dead moon Callisto in the year 2320, The Callisto Protocol is a next-generation take on survival horror. The game challenges players to escape the maximum-security Black Iron Prison and uncover its terrifying secrets. A blend of horror, action, and immersive storytelling, the game aims to set a new bar for horror in interactive entertainment.
How are you feeling about The Callisto Protocol based on what we have here today? Do you get the same feeling about the other IP with this one here or is it hoping for too much at this point? Could this actually be somewhere close to how the gameplay will look or is that just hoping for too much in 2022? Give us all of those thoughts and feedback down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. If we find more for The Callisto Protocol, it will be here on the site so be sure to keep checking back. I am sure we will not be let down by all of it at this point.
