A New Friday The 13th Game Is In The Works For 2015
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 12th of January 2015 - 06:00 PM ]
It's been announced that there is a new Friday The 13th title in the works from Crystal Lake Entertainment and an un-named developer Good news for us horror fans, maybe, as there is a new Friday The 13th video game in the works. This is to go hand in hand with the new TV show and film but hopefully will not be solely a tie-in for the franchise. Details are still sparse on it all since the news dropper "exclusively" on EGM Now but that does not mean we don't have at least the basics as we wait for the anything visual for this new Friday The 13th game. It's been over 25 years now since Jason graced our video games so it is high time and Crystal Lake Entertainment thinks they need to get piece of the gaming pie again. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 1/5/15 — 1/9/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 10th of January 2015 - 12:15 AM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games Here we go for the end of another week in video games. While not everything here was directly for the software side of things we did have some great highlights for the hardware side and then a bit of software. I blame CES bringing us so many cool things to play our video games with. Could you imaging Resident Evil running with the Oculus Rift or Morpheus. Or maybe allow all of us who are not parkour masters to run through Dying Light and give us all a feel of the action. Read More...

A Better Look At The Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Chicken Hat
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 9th of January 2015 - 06:00 PM ]
We have some official screenshots and details for that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain chicken hat that was all the rage Back around Christmas the hopefuls for a Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain release date were trolled and shown a new hat that can be used in the game. The chicken hat for those who don't want to go back and read. Some though this was still a joke that Hideo Kojima was running on everyone but it looks like Konami and Kojima Productions have confirmed the hat more so by giving us all some nice new screenshots and a better description of how the hat will be used once we actually get the game. Hopefully this year some time but that is still a great mystery to be solved for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and that may take a lot longer than solving P. Read More...

Straight Out Of CES Comes The LyteShot Kickstarter
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 7th of January 2015 - 08:00 PM ]
LyteShot, a new gaming platform, was shown off at CES 2015 and has had its Kickstarter campaign kicked off This may be the first time you've heard of LyteShot but I've heard a few things and had the pleasure of seeing things up close and personal at CES here this week. Nothing in action outside of the below Kickstarter video for the gaming platform but if you can use your imagination, as the platform wants, then you can see how this could be the next great addition to gaming; both video and physical. If you follow along here you may get to understand and have a hand in bringing the whole thing to light. Pun intended. Read More...

A Better Look At The Monsters Of Resident Evil Revelations 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 6th of January 2015 - 06:00 PM ]
New enemy details have been released for Resident Evil Revelations 2 from Capcom to better describe the horrors we will all be facing You've waited and now we have a bit more on all of those weird creatures we will be killing in Resident Evil Revelations 2's first episode in about a month's time. Okay, well maybe you weren't asking for it but that doesn't change the fact that we have some new details from Capcom to help cover those with the curious minds like Moira and Claire will obviously be having. What less could we be hoping for when it comes to Resident Evil Revelations 2 right? Weird looking things that are zombie-like but not enough to be called zombies. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 12/29/14 — 1/2/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 3rd of January 2015 - 12:00 AM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games Hopefully this will be the last of the slow weeks for video games here. At least in the news side of things. We do have CES rolling out here in under a week so we may get to see some of the great new gadgets, audio devices, and video displays that will impress us when we get to play Mortal Kombat X and The Witcher 3 later this year. We'll be all over that next week for your reading and hopefully viewing pleasure. Until then, let us focus on those video games that we can look at now. Read More...

Project Scissors Gets Its First Live Action Teaser Trailer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 2nd of January 2015 - 10:00 PM ]
Project Scissors, the spiritual sequel to Clock Tower, has had its first live action teaser released to show the theme and mood of the final game Fans of the Clock Tower franchise may be familiar with the upcoming Project Scissors title coming soon. It is pretty much the "spiritual sequel" to the franchise. How it is only going to be a "spiritual" sequel instead of an actual sequel is beyond me as Project Scissors is being made by the same guy who directed the original series; but that is me just splitting hairs when we don't need to. Especially since we have the first trailer for Project Scissors just a bit below. Read More...

Play As Hideo Kojima In Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 2nd of January 2015 - 08:00 PM ]
PC Modders have made it so you can play as Hideo Kojima in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes' core gameplay as well as the side missions available I knew it would only be a matter of time before Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes on the PC received it first fun mod for the game. In this instance it looks like you can now play all of Ground Zeroes as the mastermind behind the whole thing: Hideo Kojima. If you don't know who that is then why are you even reading this text? He happens to be the creator of the franchise as well as notorious troll for fans of all of his games. Read More...

Resident Evil Zero HD REmaster Could Be In The Pipes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 29th of December 2014 - 08:00 PM ]
Capcom may have accidentally leaked that Resident Evil Zero HD REmaster is in the works via the pre-order bonus for Resident Evil HD REmaster update If the image is correct then it looks like Resident Evil Zero HD REmaster may be the next title in the works from Capcom getting the full HD upgrade. This of course comes from an update to the pre-order page for Resident Evil HD REmaster where the developer/publisher wanted to show off the cool theme you can get for your PS4 if you pre-order before the January 13th 2015 release date in Japan. Make that date January 20th and you'll have the NA release date for those who were wondering. Any-who, some eagle eyed people who don't work for Capcom in Japan caught a small glimpse on the theme image that wasn't supposed to be released into the wild. Read More...

How To Get Stuck In An Elevator In The Talos Principle
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 29th of December 2014 - 06:00 PM ]
Pirates of The Talos Principle will find out quickly how Croteam punishes them for trying to snag the free copy of the game There is nothing funnier than when someone gets caught doing something wrong and I think this pirate of The Talos Principle takes the cake today. It looks like Croteam has again taken steps to fight piracy of their games and in this case it looks like it was more subtle than their immortal pink scorpion of Serious Sam 3: BFE. Another great classic that not only punishes the pirate but also kind of forces them into the spotlight of internet shame as some complain them as bugs. In the case of The Talos Principle that is just how it happened. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 12/22/14 — 12/26/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 27th of December 2014 - 12:00 AM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games Even though it was a holiday week we still managed to scrape up quite a bit of news for video games now didn't we? Usually it is bone dry when it comes around the Christmas holidays but we still were able to find out a few things on Final Fantasy XV and Evolve. The rest was more or less filler and nothing all too new and exciting but I guess that is what happens when we let all those developers and publishers go home and enjoy their families. Why would we ever want to do that? Read More...

Being Chicken In Metal Gear Solid V Can Be A Bonus In Disguise
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of December 2014 - 10:01 PM ]
Over the Christmas holiday it was announced that there will be a chicken hat addition to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain to make the game easier for those having trouble If you are a huge fan of Metal Gear Solid and looking forward to Metal Gear Solid V then you were probably one of those people who sat around with Hideo Kojima on Christmas day while he opened presents, talked films, and then trolled everyone looking for a release date for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. To be fair, you all should have been having a good time with your families instead of watching someone who's culture doesn't celebrate the holiday do what he does best. That would be giving you just a little bit of something new so you don't loathe him but not really give you a thing you really want. Read More...

You Can Only Cross-Buy Resident Evil HD REmaster For A Short Time
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 25th of December 2014 - 08:00 PM ]
If you want Resident Evil HD REmaster as a PS3/PS4 cross-buy you better act fast as there is a catch If you've been waffling over which system to pick up Resident Evil HD REmaster, the PS3 or PS4, then Capcom has something to help decide. If you pre-order the game right now you can get it for both systems for the price of just getting it once. Granted it makes sense that you would pick up Resident Evil HD REmaster on the PS4 due to the power that console adds but for those who may still be clinging to the PS3 or just got the PS4 upgrade for the holidays then you can get the game without worry of needing to re-purchase. Although that logic seems a bit flawed; whatever… Sadly this is only in the North American region for now so sorry to all those outside the region who wanted Resident Evil HD REmaster as a cross buy. The Interview Is Up On Xbox Video But Not Video Unlimited…Smart Move
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 24th of December 2014 - 10:00 PM ]
You can now watch The Interview on Xbox Video and other services but not Sony's own video unlimited… yet… While not directly video game news, The Interview being placed on our gaming systems for streaming could lead to some gaming outages in the coming days. What I am talking about here is that Sony has decided to let the film stream on YouTube, Google Play, and Xbox Video as of this writing. There are plans to let it go to other platforms, including Video Unlimited on the PlayStation Network but those plans are supposedly coming shortly. This is either a stoke of marketing genius or nothing is going to happen but people seeing The Interview. Read More...
