Final Fantasy XIII And Lady Bad Luck
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 14th of January 2010 - 09:18 PM ]
Don't Panic! I've always wanted to start off with that. But as it says, don't panic. There has not been an announcement of a delay, set back or some other event to hindering Final Fantasy XIII from dropping on time. It is just a reference from the new trailer below. For once the characters of the story actually see how everything is happening in a string of bad luck. Now, if only they could reference the horrible voice acting that seems to be plaguing this new trailer. The trailer itself is just another great montage of scenes and voice acting from the English version due to come out in two months. Read More...

by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 4th of January 2010 - 10:45 PM ]
With the Holidays finally over and a brand new year ahead of us, Nintendo starts the new year with a bang... or at least with a bit of spice. Your cooking skills will be put to the test with Hell's Kitchen Vs, or maybe you'd rather duke it out in Final Fight 3. Let's see how good you really are when you play Pub Darts. Here is where I give you the break down of this week's Nintendo Downloads. Nintendo DSiWareTrajectilePublisher: NintendoPlayers: 1ESRB Rating: E (Everyone)Price: 500 Nintendo DSi Points™Description: Trajectile is a puzzle game that's as much about firepower as it is about brainpower, requiring you to line up your shot and launch a flurry of missiles at enemy targets. Take A Glimpse Into Final Fantasy XIV
by Kevin [ Thursday, 17th of December 2009 - 03:27 PM ]
Well, the beta test application site for Final Fantasy XIV has opened up, and while the beta may only be for the PC, it is a great chance for those interested to poke around in what could be a fantastic MMO experience. For the curious, the requirements are: Be at least 18 years of age Possess a Square Enix ID account (Register for a Square Enix ID account here, if you don't have one already) Possess an internet connection Be capable of downloading large amounts of data Be capable of submitting bug reports in either Japanese, English, French, or German Like any other beta test, there will be several waves and opportunities to enter the beta so don't be discouraged if you don't make it in initially. For those looking for the PS3 experience, it seems that will be revealed "at a later date." Despite that, 2010 is going to be the year for this game's release, and I, for one, am excited. When Does Final Fantasy XIII Come Out?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of November 2009 - 04:23 PM ]
So we were all promised a big announcement from Square Enix about Final Fantasy XIII today (11/13/09). I'm sure we all figured it would drop out to us sometime later in the day. Like near the close of the day. But surprise surprise, look what we all get to look at early from Square Enix. A "developer" diary of sorts showcasing some of the action and events from the game. That isn't the only thing this video has though. They also go in to tell about some of the choices they made in visuals, the combat system, and the selection of the game's theme song. Read More...

Final Fantasy Keeps On Shooting More Screens
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of November 2009 - 07:05 PM ]
With the launch of the Japanese version of Final Fantasy XIII coming up here in a little over a month, we should all get ready for the onslaught of spoilers, videos, and screen shots. We as in everyone else in the world that has to wait until an unknown date or import in a Japanese version because we really can't wait for this game. I know I fall in the prior over the latter, but that's my love of the English language and lack of Japanese training. In any instance, here is a nice batch of eight new shots of the game. Beastiary Legal In Final Fantasy XIV
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 8th of October 2009 - 10:16 PM ]
Ok pervert, I know what you thought when you first clicked in here. No, boning animals is not going to be in Final Fantasy XIV. It still got you to look in here to check out the shots of the creatures that you will be slaying in the game. So technically you will be giving them the bone, but not in the legal issue way that you may have been thinking. So there. These shots do look like Square Enix is dead serious in giving what people have come to expect from them: a visually stunning game. Read More...

TGS Fantasies Are Given
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 24th of September 2009 - 07:41 PM ]
As was to be expected in the Final Fantasy Fan capital of the world, Japan, and at the game show specifically in their location, Tokyo Game Show, there is some new eye candy for the franchise. All in the form of shots of the specific Final Fantasy bundled PS3 and a nice shiny new game trailer for Final Fantasy XIV. Something to get the salivary glands overworking for us all that couldn't make TGS yet still wanted to see something from Square Enix. The themed PS3, seen below, is a bit "girlie" if I do say so. Review: Final Fantasy: Dissidia
by Binh Nguyen [ Thursday, 3rd of September 2009 - 11:41 AM ]
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to combine the elements from a role playing game and fighting game? Ever wonder what it would be like to play some of your favorite heroes from the 8 bit, PlayStation, and PlayStation 2 days? Well wonder no more, as Square-Enix celebrates their 20th anniversary with the release of Final Fantasy: Dissidia for the PlayStation Portable. Even though this has been classified as a fighting game, it is certainly not for the Street Fighter, Tekken, or Soul Calibur crowd. The controls are really simple and you press the same buttons over and over again, but to learn the timing for each character's attacks to take advantage of the different terrain, makes the game much more interesting. They discuss the games they have been playing, including Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Little Big Planet, Red Faction, Batman and Drama Queens. We reveal our latest Bargain Bin titles featuring games for the PC, PS3 and Nintendo DS this week. We also pull out the WD-40 as the squeaking is out of control this episode. Calling In FFXIII Shots
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 28th of August 2009 - 10:12 PM ]
And look, they were called in. Well at least seven of them. Seven glorious new looks at this highly anticipated game that seems to be forever off on the horizon; teasing all of us in North America or pretty much anywhere that isn't Japan since they do get it this Winter. Those damn Japanese*. These screens show off a little bit of the CGI that Square-Enix is well known for, as well as some of the in-game stuff and combat system. The aesthetics are something that has yet to let me down in any way for this game. I just really hope that the storytelling aspect of the game isn't being hurt at all because they are spending months trying to get the shine and opacity looking perfect in the ice levels. Japan Gets All The Good Fantasies
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of July 2009 - 10:22 PM ]
Final Fantasy II Released on the Japanese PSN So, two weeks ago the original Final Fantasy was released on the Japanese PSN. Japanese fan boys and fan boys with a Japanese PSN account were rejoiced. But us non-JPSN having fan boys are still left out waiting for it to release in our region. Hint Square-Enix Now it looks like we have even more to be waiting for or considering skirting the system with GTranslate open next to us. Today on the Japanese PSN, they are all welcomed with the second, the actual second, game in the franchise. Outside of Japan, we think number four is number two. Read More...

Finally The Original Fantasy
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 24th of June 2009 - 10:24 PM ]
Final Fantasy on PSN Soon As if there hasn't been enough awesome Final Fantasy going about the interwebs since E3, Square-Enix drops some more good news for all of the FFFreaks (F3 from now on). Not as cool as a full on remake of FFVI for the PS3, or FFVII remake either, but today on the Japanese PSN "the game that launched a billion spin offs" was made available. I'm talking the original Final Fantasy. The PSOne upgrade version at that. Read More...
