You Greedy Bastards
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 9th of September 2009 - 11:22 PM ]
While the last developer's diary made it seem that Dante's Inferno was going to be full of Poo Jokes, this new one starts to add the creep back into hell. No I don't think that the monsters of Gluttony pooing on me is all that creepy. I also didn't think that they would be able to get creepy with the fourth circle, Greed, but this new video adds a little more depth, pun intended, on Dante. Not so much on the Greed. In this Dev. The Mass PAX Effect... 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 5th of September 2009 - 08:16 PM ]
PAX isn't even in full swing yet and already the new shots and images are pouring in. Not just from the lesser known titles either. But the major ones too. Like this little game you might have heard of, Mass Effect 2. Maybe you've heard of it, maybe you haven't. Then again, you may have been living in an underground bunker with your parents since the 1950's and missed out on everything up until now. Cookie, online, if you catch the reference there. All humor aside now. Read More...

Wolfenstein Review
by Ben Brody [ Saturday, 29th of August 2009 - 11:42 AM ]
Perhaps it's a little to old for some of you younger gamers out there, but Wolfenstein has always had a place in my heart. Wolfenstein 3D revolutionized the FPS genre, and while Wolfenstein doesn't have as much of an impact on the video game industry as Wolfenstein 3D did, it is certainly a fun filled game. The game is a sequel to Return to Castle Wolfenstein, which was released for the PS2, PC, and XBOX in 2001, and stars William “BJ” Blackowitz, who was the protagonist in the previous Wolfenstein games. While Wolfenstein departs from many of the nostalgic elements that RTCW had, it keeps the main tradition of Wolfenstein alive: Supernatural Nazis are trying to take over the world. Read More...

Wolfenstein For Free?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 12th of August 2009 - 10:50 PM ]
Lead Designer at Raven Software Offers To Pay For Wolfenstein In a stroke of what could be seen as marketing genius, or insane offerings by an over worked designer, the offer has been thrown out to get your copy of Wolfenstein paid for. All offered by the game's Lead Designer, Manveer Heir, over his Twitter account in the early hours of the morning on the 11th of August. There are a few catches that go along with this, but he swears he will pay for your copy if all the requirements are met. What would those requirements be? Read More...

Third Circle Of Hell To Be Full Of Poo Jokes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 12th of August 2009 - 05:09 PM ]
Dante's Inferno: Gluttony Developer's Diary Continuing down the path of Hell from Lust, Visceral Games keeps with their fun and dark developer's diaries. This time they cover the third level, Gluttony. A level that should be as gruesome as the scene from Se7en and starts to look that way with some of the concepts they show in the video. One thing that kind of bothers me though is the fact that they talk a lot about defecation, feces, and poop in the video. A lot. Read More...

Iceland Or Bust
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 4th of August 2009 - 07:48 PM ]
EVE Online Summer Buddy Program Wow, this contest seemed to slip through the general populaces cracks for a whole month. Probably because the hardcore fans of EVE Online wanted to have a better chance at winning. But where is the fun of no competition? Am I right? So I'm going to try and even the odds of information for the gaming world. Entering this contest is kind of easy, and you still have about a month to get in on this. Well if you are or are planning on becoming a player of EVE Online and have a buddy who wants to join up too, then you are half way there. Read More...

Comic Con Issue #1
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 29th of July 2009 - 04:30 PM ]
Thursday: The First Official Day Earlier, I brought you what went on at the preview night of the convention as well as how it has changed quite a bit. For the worse in my opinion. But that didn't keep me or the Aggrogamer team from pressing on to the first official day of the convention. A day that I deemed EA day. A day full of games, small reveals, lounging, and a few extra after hours events. It'll make sense when you continue down. Read More...

Wolfenstein to Sponsor Premiere of Inglorious Basterds
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 28th of July 2009 - 10:36 PM ]
Who better to sponsor a premiere of a movie about killing Nazis than a video game franchise that wrote the book on killing Nazis?  Today, Activision and id Software announced the sponsorship of the "Inglorious Basterds" premiere by the also soon-to-be-released Wolfenstein.  Also included is a contest in conjunction with GameStop with a prize that includes airfare, accommodations, tickets to the premiere and admission to the after-party.  The contest begins today and must be really short considering the premiere at Grauman's Chinese Theater is August 10.  I shouldn't really encourage you to sign up for the contest as I have visions of sitting next to Diane Kruger. Comic Con '09 Hands-On Impressions of Dante's Inferno
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 27th of July 2009 - 09:47 PM ]
Dante's Inferno So at E3 this year, we were all given some great teases as to what to expect for Dante's Inferno from EA. All in the form of an extended trailer and a little bit of watching the designers play through a level showing off their game. No solid hands on experience, but it was still a great sight to see. But it did leave me wanting more to really get a feel for the game. Something EA was obviously waiting to let people do at Comic Con. Read More...

Everyone Is Getting A Comic Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of July 2009 - 03:40 PM ]
EA and DC Comics Enter Nine Circles of Hell with Dante's Inferno Comic Last week there was the announcement of the God of War Comic, which just added to the number of the recent games that have had their story made into a comic or had the story expanded upon via this medium. Dead Space, inFAMOUS, and [Prototype] are just to name a few. Not even going to go into the number of anime style games that have their likenesses in comic mode. *Cough* Final Fantasy. Read More...

Lusting For More Dante's Inferno?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 13th of July 2009 - 10:11 PM ]
Dante's Inferno Lust We all know the meaning of Lust. We all know what is attributed to this "deadly sin" as well. When you think of it, most of the time humans will go the low brow version of this concept. Something that one of the developers at Visceral Games talks about in the below video. Another developer diary for Dante's Inferno. This go around is all about the second level of Hell, Lust. In the video, they bring up all the concepts that they had and currently are working with for this level of the game. Read More...

What We Are Able To Show Of Mass Effect 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 13th of July 2009 - 04:57 PM ]
Mass Effect 2 Developer Diary One of the big things that was kept behind guarded close doors a month ago at E3 was Mass Effect 2. EA wen to great measures to ensure that no one caught video or even spoke about what was seen in the small closed off room. With good sense given some of the spoilers and how epic this game looks like it is going to be. If you are a fan, you know what I'm talking about here. Well here is some good news for you that were not one of the lucky few to get into that hidden booth, but have heard about things from it. Read More...

Real View From Hell
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 6th of July 2009 - 03:36 PM ]
Gameplay Footage Of Dante's Inferno Finally what we got to see behind closed doors at E3 for Dante's Inferno can be seen by the public. Well kind of. We were able to see more of a solid stream of action on a few levels and not a mash up of scenes and actions that go on in the following video. But you will be able to get the full gist of what the gameplay looks like and kind of a feel of how it will play. Now that you've seen some of the action, with lava replaced for blood for children's sake, what do you think of Dante's Inferno? Am I right in my assessment of it being God of War with just the one Christian god being the source instead of a full pantheon? Read More...

Rocking It Green With Mayhem
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 2nd of July 2009 - 04:23 PM ]
Rock Band DLC for 7/7/09 So with great tracks from Sponge Bob, iCarly, and The Naked Brothers rocking out the DLC for Rock Band, it makes me wonder how Harmonix is going to out rock that. Maybe some Hanna Montana. Maybe a little more Earth Wind and Fire. Somehow work in Flo Rida. But then then go and out and make it so my bank account will get sapped again with some awesomeness. They are slapping all those down with the addition of Green Day to the selection of music to download for the game. Not only Green Day, but Manson, Canibal Corpse, and Slayer to punt kick all those earlier mentioned artists in the Game Box. Read More...
