Street Fighter X Tekken, What More Do You Want?
by Binh Nguyen [ Tuesday, 27th of July 2010 - 08:40 PM ]
So what do you get when you take two completely different universes and mash them together into one game? No, I am not talking about Marvel vs. Capcom or Super Smash Bros. I am talking about probably one of the biggest mash up to date. At Comic-Con Capcom and Namco have come out to announce Street Fighter X Tekken. This new fighter will utilize the same technology that has been used for Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter IV where we will get to see Tekken characters like Kazuya Mishima and Nina Williams will make the jump into the new universe being re-imagined using the art style of Street Fighter IV. Oh don't worry, they will still look and feel like Tekken characters we all love. Read More...

Fire In The Sky For Marvel Vs. Capcom 3
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 11th of June 2010 - 09:10 PM ]
Awesome. Yet another title with an E3 trailer coming out before next week. Seriously?!? What is there going to be to see or talk about next week? Everyone will have already seen it all by then. All we need now is gameplay to be thrown out there and there will be no need for the huge event. Anyways, the next video to come out a week in advance is a new trailer for Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. Nothing to ground breaking either. Read More...

Review: Lost Planet II
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 1st of June 2010 - 04:59 PM ]
When you start comparing Lost Planet II to its predecessor it seems like it should escape all of the pitfalls of the first title and really offer up a solid single player experience with a rich multiplayer to boot. Aside from technical issues, some slightly questionable AI and level design, it delivers. However, a word of advice: Don't bother playing the game by yourself. LP2 just doesn't seem designed for it. Chris Hunting Hunters In Marvel Vs Capcom 3
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 27th of May 2010 - 09:21 PM ]
Ok, well not really, but think about the below shot of Chris Vs. The Hulk. Shot gun blast to the face of a big green hulking monster. Just like the first Resident Evil. Maybe that is how they are going to link a few of the stories for the game. That could also be a stretch though. But it could be easy to see happening. What other stories can we come up with from all the below Hi-Res screen shots from Capcom's next major fighter? Let's see. Read More...

Street Fighter: Legacy
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 4th of May 2010 - 10:40 PM ]
I know what your thinking, "damn another crappy Street Fighter film," but that's not the case here. This new adaptation looks fantastic, and true to the style and impact that so many Street Fighter fans have felt over the years. This is a movie for the fans. Joey Ansah is a stuntman (last see in Bourne Ultimatum) with a passion, a passion for the Street Fighter franchise. Ansah has personally expressed what so many fans of the game have felt every time a mention of a new Street Fighter movie was announced: "As an actor, film maker and a fan, I have been repeatedly disappointed by the many diluted, un faithful and outright butchered movie adaptations of fighting video games. It was clear to me, that given the way the movie industry worked, we would never see a super faithful, darker toned and more adult themed (or just plain good! Read More...

Review: Super Street Fighter IV
by 345 [ Friday, 30th of April 2010 - 08:00 PM ]
Super Street Fighter IV is definitely a great value at $40, especially for people who didn't pick up the original. Aside from everything originally included with IV, Super also includes a handful of new characters, new stages, new music and updated online play. This includes some new modes and features that fans have been wanting for over a year now. A new roster update comprises of a nice selection of characters from various series in the Street Fighter universe, as well as two new ones exclusive to Super. Juri is a welcome addition with a quickness that many other characters are lacking, and Hakan is a grappler covered in oil that brings more depth to his style of character. Read More...

Bionic Commando: Rearmed 2 Comin' At You In 2011
by 345 [ Tuesday, 20th of April 2010 - 07:10 PM ]
This is quite possibly the most miraculous announcement coming out of Captivate '10. Sure, there was that other little game that apparently was a big deal, but for me it's all about the return of Rad Spencer and some of the guys from GRIN, albeit under a different studio name. Fat Shark Games will be keeping Rearmed 2 true to the original, though some new things will be thrown into the mix, including jumping and more physics-based puzzles. Simon Viklund, who did the music for Bionic Commando: Rearmed and Final Fight: Double Impact will be returning to do the score as well, which is very exciting to hear. The one thing that is unclear at this point is whether or not the coop will be online or not, as the original was purely local coop play. Read More...

Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate Of Two Worlds
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 20th of April 2010 - 05:06 PM ]
At first I thought this was a joke. A very clever and well constructed joke. This is one of those instances where I am incredibly pleased to report that this is no joke. The third game in the combo-laden fighting game series, Marvel vs Capcom, is coming to PlayStation 3 and the XBox 360 in 2011. The game, which is already said to feature Wolverine, Spider-Man, The Hulk, Magneto, Storm (and from the looks of the trailer, Ryu, Morrigan, and Chris Redfield), seems to draw an aritstic style closer to the most recent iteration of the Street Fighter series. Some art from a teaser poster also seems to reveal a few other characters. Now, the battle between Wolverine and Ryu is more than enough to get my attention, especially considering the art aesthetic of the game. Read More...

Review: Mega Man 10
by 345 [ Thursday, 15th of April 2010 - 03:08 PM ]
Mega Man 10 (available on XBLA, WiiWare, and PSN for 800 MS Pts/1000 Wii Pts/$10, respectively) is an incredibly fun and enjoyable entry in the classic Mega Man series. A follow-up to 2008's Mega Man 9 in more ways than just a new number, this game takes a lot of the feedback and criticism the latter had to craft one of the best sidescrolling experiences in years. While there isn't a whole lot Capcom and Inti Creates actually changed in the bigger scheme of things, Mega Man 10 features a lot of new tweaks and balance adjustments that make it far less threatening than its predecessor and more entertaining in the long run. While there are some tough areas in the game, overall I wouldn't call it difficult at all, and perhaps it is one of the most fair games in the series. Read More...

Dark Void Zero Goes Mobile.. and Flies to the PC Too
by Kevin [ Friday, 9th of April 2010 - 03:33 PM ]
This week, AggroGamer will be presenting a review for Dark Void, for a new series entitled, "Games You Missed, Which Might Not Be a Bad Thing." The first title to get this treatment will be the action title Dark Void that was developed by Airtight Games and published by Capcom for the PS3, 360 and PC on January 19, 2010. In the meantime, the more well received iteration of the game, Dark Void Zero will be headed to the iPhone and PC. This 8-bit title was celebrated for its controls and retro gameplay and graphics, and was often compared in a more favorable light to its big brother. Read More...

Mini Review: Resident Evil 5: Desperate Escape
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 2nd of April 2010 - 06:34 PM ]
This review has a few spoilers for Resident Evil 5 in it. This DLC takes place near the end of the game and talks about some major story parts. If you have yet to play Resident Evil 5 all the way through, you have been warned. Just when you think you have seen all you have of Resident Evil 5, Capcom adds in yet more to the story. Well at least they expand on the story by showing you what some of the other characters were up to while Chris and Sheva were off saving the world from the Zompocalypse. This time around, it is what happened to Josh, Sheva's militant mentor, and Jill Valentine, after you emancipate her from Wesker's mind control. Read More...

Resident Evil VS. Street Fighter
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of March 2010 - 11:06 PM ]
While that could lead to some interesting spin-offs, no it is not a new IP from Capcom. At least as of right now. They do seem to be fans of crossing over two genres or companies for their games. But as of right now, that is not the case. If it does become the case, remember that AggroGamer brought it to you first. So then you must be asking yourself, what is up with the images below and the title above? Well that answer comes from a very talented artist on CHhub names Manuhell. Read More...

The Blue Bomber In High Definition?
by Kevin [ Monday, 8th of March 2010 - 04:36 PM ]
You know, this Eric Ruth guy is quickly becoming one of my favorite people. Not being content with creating a Left 4 Dead drenched in 8-bit nostalgia, this guy took it upon himself to recreate Mega Man 9 in High Definition. To accomplish this, he had to redo every element of the game, from enemy art to music. So essentially what he has done thus far is take a really high profile current title and give it the retro treatment.  Now he has taken what is essentially a retro title - outfit it in high profile-y type goodness - and condensed it into a finely tuned package of incredibly awesome.
