Mini-Review: The Walking Dead - Episode 3
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 5th of September 2012 - 10:07 PM ]
Just like before, I won't be starting with the basics this time. If you want that, check out our review of the second episode of The Walking Dead. That should get you up to speed so you can dive right into episode three. So without further adieu. Story Just as before the story picks up shortly after the events of the last episode. This time supplies are not just running short, but some are going missing and there looks to be someone signaling the bandits introduced in the last episode. Tensions run higher than ever and the group is forced to leave their base camp. Read More...

The Disappearance Of Single Player
by Greg Tatterfield [ Wednesday, 1st of August 2012 - 09:49 PM ]
Remember the time when you placed a new game in your game console and you could expect an epic and memorable single player experience? I am among those gamers who remember having that full-blown experience with every new game that graced my console. As an old school gamer that owned all the major systems since the 90s I see a disturbing trend that could spell trouble for fans of single player games. The problem is that single player seems to be becoming extinct. It’s no secret that online multiplayer has became exceptionally popular among the current generation of gamers. Read More...

Greetings ladies and gentlemen of the community. My name is Todd Naevestad and I am the newest member of AggroGamer's writing team. This little article is to tell you a little about myself. Let's get right to it. I am a student still, entering my junior year. I am training in professional writing. I have a love for words and telling stories. In the future, I hope to work for a place like BioWare or Bethesda, maybe a place like Wizards of the Coast. I want to work in games of all kinds. Read More...

Naughty Bear Is Back And Showing Off Game Play
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 25th of July 2012 - 09:36 PM ]
Over two years ago Naughty Bear hit consoles to a rather mediocre reception. I for one enjoyed the idea and concept but there was room for improvement. So I was a bit shocked to hear that there was another title in the franchise coming this year. Hopefully the team over at Behaviour Interactive has taken their time to polish up franchise a bit. Speaking of, why don't we take a look at the game play for the upcoming Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise? That should give us a good look to see if that is the case. Read More...

Review: Jeremy McGrath's Offroad
by Fred Buell [ Thursday, 19th of July 2012 - 10:10 PM ]
Jeremy McGrath's Offroad, developed by 2XL Games and published by Reverb (PS3) and D3publisher (360), plays like you would expect any offroad, rally or ATV game to play. It's smooth, it has some air control and it has competitive AI. That is where this game really ends with its current competition. Jeremy McGrath's Offroad has various unlocks as is expected in this day and age, like new vehicles and performance upgrades, however I couldn't find much reason to go after them. No motivation to keep playing despite this. Now don't get me wrong, the game is superbly crafted, no bugs at all as far as I could tell, beautiful graphics for an arcade title, the AI is smart and the controls top notch. Read More...

Silent Hill: Revelations Looks Like It Will Further The Franchise Well
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of July 2012 - 09:52 PM ]
It has been a little over six years since the first Silent Hill film hit the screen and a lot of us have been clamoring for a sequel, myself included. It has been one of the best video game franchises to move over into film and at this year's San Diego Comic Con we were given a look at a bit from the sequel, Silent Hill: Revelations. You might have already noticed below that there is a video clip from what we saw, but there is another that is not included. One that is a lot creepier and features the Mannequin from the franchise. Deadpool Is Finally Getting His Own Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of July 2012 - 05:13 PM ]
He's been featured in a few games and has mostly been used for cameos, but now the 'merc with a mouth' is finally getting his own shot at video game stardom. That's right, Deadpool has been officially announced and the game is coming. Don't fully believe it yet? Then go ahead and check out the announcement trailer that snuck in at the San Diego Comic Con last week. Hopefully that will prove more to you. Don't be too surprised with the lack of any real substance being shown here though. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 10th of July 2012 - 08:31 PM ]
I won't be starting with the basics this time. If you want that, check out our review of the first episode of The Walking Dead. That should get you up to speed so you can dive right into episode two. So without further adieu. Story Three months after the events of the first episode Lee and crew are running low on food and supplies. There have been a few new additions to the group as well as a location change. During the drought of food, a few other survivors stumble upon the group and offer food and supplies in exchange for fuel. Read More...

Review: Ship Simulator Extremes
by Fred Buell [ Monday, 2nd of July 2012 - 11:15 PM ]
I started playing Ship Simulator Extremes with an open mind. Partly because I wasn't sure if this was going the pure Sim route with me only free riding a boat or the MS Flight route with a campaign and missions you can take. It took the latter with a campaign and various scenarios you can choose from the menu, alas the game is looking up, I think. I was wrong. So wrong. Read More...

Play The Walking Dead For Real At Comic Con
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 2nd of July 2012 - 08:37 PM ]
So by now you've most likely played Telltale's The Walking Dead, read the comic or seen the show. If anything you at least are interested in the zombie apocalypse scenario. Well here is something that those interested in any of those things mention will find pretty damn awesome. If you are at San Diego Comic Con next week you will have the chance to actually play "the game" for real. The game being that of surviving in a world where the dead have escaped the Underworld and are coming for your flesh. This isn't some small obstacle course set up as fun for promotions either. E3 2012 Impressions: Dead Space 3
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 20th of June 2012 - 11:28 PM ]
Talk about an awesome announcement at this year's E3, Dead Space 3! Yes I am one of those people out there who still love the franchise even though EA is milking it for everything. But Dead Space was one of the games in the recent years that revitalized the survival horror genre for me. Needless to say I did everything I could to fit in a viewing of the game. While originally this was shown behind closed doors at the show, recently the game's Executive Producer (Steve Papoutsis) posted a video showcasing exactly everything we all got to see on the show floor. I was nice enough to include the 20 minute game play footage show casing the single player and co-op for you below. Read More...

Review: Prototype 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 8th of May 2012 - 08:52 PM ]
It's been a long wait but Prototype 2 has finally landed to the enjoyment of all of us fans from the first game. It's not every game where you get to power bomb someone from atop some of the tallest buildings in the country but this is totally one of them. It has been three years in the works and there have been other titles out like it since, so does Prototype 2 hold up to the franchise's already well set bar. Let's find out. Story It's been fourteen months since the events of Prototype. Read More...

Review: The Walking Dead: Episode 1
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 26th of April 2012 - 10:02 PM ]
Developed and Published by Telltale Games this episodic game takes place within The Walking Dead universe. While some characters share the names of those in the comic and TV show, it is a whole new story. The Walking Dead is a point and click game with "precision" quick-time events. Instead of simply hitting a button you have to aim in a specific spot and then hit a button. I sat down to play The Walking Dead expecting a quick little hour or so session but I soon found myself sucked in to the characters and their story. I actually finished the game in one session.
