Brian G's First Ever Ramblings
by Brian Goodman [ Sunday, 18th of April 2010 - 03:03 PM ]
So first off I'm Brian and new to Aggrogamer.com (and also Pwned.com My user name is GooseyB please friend me so I'm not too lonely!). Aside from video game blogging I also play in this band. You may or may not have noticed my first few articles posted this week. I am a video game news junkie and very opinionated. I may like studying the industry and culture surrounding video games almost as much as I like settling in with a new nerdy PC strategy title and a bottle of whiskey (almost). I do enjoy a lot of mainstream titles and also spend plenty of time on my XBox 360. Read More...

iPad Is For Gaming
by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 2nd of April 2010 - 03:14 PM ]
The iPad as you have heard is being released April 3rd, 2010. The lines at the Apple store will be ridiculous, Apple is already struggling against the demand, and Steve Jobs is in a chair somewhere sitting in the dark watching his Apple TV and laughing at all the money he is making this weekend. As I have stated in previous articles, the iPhone format has already paved the way for more powerful mobile gaming, but now with the iPad (a larger iPhone) gamers can utilize the larger screen size and have a truly unique gaming experience. I bring this up because with the information overload about the iPad, EA and 2K Games have stated that they will be updating there iPhone games to be optimized for the iPad. EA's Command&Conquer: Red Alert and 2K's Civilization: Revolution are two very popular titles but are limited by the screen size of the iPhone. Read More...

Games in a Flash - Revenge Of The Mouse
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 1st of April 2010 - 08:08 PM ]
Here we are again, on this Internet filled April Fools day. I'm sure you've probably killed your morning already looking at all the gags on all the websites from Gmail to Kodak. So while your already not working anyways, here are some games in Adobe Flash to contribute to your lack of work today. I thought to really add some flair, I would post games that only use the mouse to play! (I didn't want to make you work) Tactical Assassin This is an awesome first person shooter from Simon Hason and Negative Flash. Read More...

Dead Space 2 Does Dark Void Right
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 1st of April 2010 - 01:41 PM ]
So if you were at PAX East last week, or at least following the official Dead Space Twitter account, you might have had the chance to catch a glimpse of what is to bee seen of the Dead Space 2. Either by being in the conference room or via the live uStream of the event. But just in case you didn't get to catch it either way, or just don't want to sit through all the other stuff they talked about, here is the video of in-game footage. Not the best shot of the action, but it is something. Also not 22 minutes long. Read More...

Games in a Flash: Episode 2
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 18th of March 2010 - 06:40 PM ]
Happy hang-over-after St. Patrick's day. So you're probably at home/work with a bad hang over and not really in the mood to be productive. So today I bring you three flash games to keep you entertained and highly unproductive on the tail end of this fine drinking holiday. Cream Wolf Cream Wolf is really a throw back to the 80's (for those that remember) with pixel characters, midi music, and crazy color schemes. The game is simple, drive around in your ice cream truck playing your ice cream tune until kids come running to your truck (creepy). This starts the new mini-game where you need to stack the kids order, and try and keep it as nice looking as possible to get the most points. Read More...

Review: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Single Player)
by Michael Camacho [ Friday, 12th of March 2010 - 12:00 AM ]
"B" Squad, AKA Bad Company, is back! EA and DICE have returned with a much improved sequel with Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Hope you are ready for the next mission filled with more explosions, more destruction, and even more laughs. You return as Preston Marlowe, along with your entire squad from the first game, consisting of Terrance Sweetwater, George Haggard, and Samuel "Sarge" Redford. But before you get to play the games from the eyes of Private Marlowe, the game takes you on a trip to the past. You begin in Japan on a mission set during World War II. Read More...

Macs R Dead
by Kevin [ Thursday, 11th of March 2010 - 12:45 PM ]
I think everyone saw this coming at some point. When you have a game series with such wide appeal as the Left 4 Dead series, the need to push it out to other platforms becomes fairly obvious. Though I suspect that at some point we will see this game make its way to handhelds in some form or another, this announcement deals with Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 shuffling its zombie feet to the Mac OSX through the glory of Steam for the Mac. For those who are curious, the L4D Team discuss what exactly this means for you: "Steam on the Mac will behave just like Steam for Windows, but through Steam Play will add cross-platform ownership. That means if you own Left 4 Dead 2 for Windows, then you already own it for the Mac. Read More...

Another South Park Song To Hit Rock Band
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 11th of March 2010 - 01:41 AM ]
While it is not Shitty Shitty Fag Fag or Blame Canada or even Uncle Fucker, it is one of the most amazing remixes and product placements in South Park in almost forever. I'm talking a little ditty that was featured with "Rock Band" during the episode of Whale Whores. Yea, that's right. Joining Timmy and The Lords Of The Underworld, artist and song title, is Eric Cartman's perfect rendition of Poker Face. A song that when I hear it gets stuck in my head for days. The Cartman version at least. Read More...

Scream! Finally, Some New Castlevania Screen Shots
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 9th of March 2010 - 03:09 PM ]
Almost a year after its announcement at E3 '09, we finally get to see what Hideo Kojima has been doing to one of gaming's iconic franchises, Castlevania. He is playing around with Castlevania: Lords of Shadow in a way that I am still kind of on the fence about. At least I write that based off the screen shots below and renders for the Kojima's Castlevania. Some look amazing, while others look like they were originally slated to be place-holder assets that got mixed into the screen shot bin. Look at the renders for the spiders, werewolves, and goblins (I guess? Read More...

Games In A Flash
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 4th of March 2010 - 09:32 PM ]
Flash games are the best way to kill time at work, at school, or waiting for the next Blizzard game to be released. With all the new console games coming out every week, we seem to overlook some developers that create entertaining games for FREE! Day after day folks are pouring out innovative and new game ideas all the time. I thought I would highlight a few of these for you readers out there, because their are some games out their that are too good to miss. Robot Unicorn Attack   Yes this game looks like it's for four year old girls and ponies (and the music is something from the 80's) but it's simplicity and fast paced gameplay make this a great way to kill that 15 minute break you have in the morning. Big Daddy Got Wood!
by Binh Nguyen [ Friday, 26th of February 2010 - 10:34 PM ]
Ever been so obsessed with a game or character that you needed to draw them or have it everywhere? Myself, I have anime, Super Sentai stuff on my PC, PSP Go, toys (or in Mike's case, dolls), etc. Well this Japanese man takes things to a whole new level as he takes the time to carve out a nearly life size wooden statue of Big Daddy from BioShock. In this nearly ten minute video, you will see how much detail this Japanese Jason took to create Big Daddy. I could not imagine how long it probably took him to finish the project, but needless to say it is worth a watch. Read More...

Warner Bros. Will Soon Be Bringing Batman To You
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 23rd of February 2010 - 10:37 PM ]
Batman has been a staple of the Warner Bros. company for a very long time. Live action films, animated series, and a few games have been brought to us from Warner directly in the past. Now it looks like that is going to change here real soon. Especially with the most recent new franchise, Arkham Asylum. A game originally handed out to another company, Rocksteady, to design, code and build. Which they did to an extent that it won a load of awards and shipped over three million copies. Read More...

by Kevin [ Monday, 22nd of February 2010 - 12:49 AM ]
One of the more entertaining action series in recent memory, Dead to Rights, is coming back and is going to pack more of a punch than ever before. Recently I had the opportunity to speak with Imre Jele (pictured below), Volatile Games' Project Director of Dead to Rights: Retribution, and pick his brain concerning the upcoming 'Game Noir' title. Here's a preview: Teste-Kills. Read on. Read More...
