This Week In Video Games 8/1/22 — 8/5/22
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 5th of August 2022 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week There we go wrapping up this week of video games, even if we did dive into a few other things beyond all of that. Given that we just wrapped SDCC and we have Gamescom rolling up on us, it is a bit of a surprise we did not just get lost in all of it. With Marvel’s Midnight Suns and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves adding into this week's fun too. I fully recommend looking in on Star Trek: Resurgence and a few of the other lesser-known video games we have coming down the pipes. Read More...

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened Is Getting A Full Remake
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 4th of August 2022 - 09:00 PM ]
Sherlock Holmes Sherlock Holmes is coming back into action with a full remake for Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened Your brain is not fully breaking, yes, we are getting a whole new version of Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened out here in 2023. It has been some amount of time and not everyone was expecting it from what Frogwares was teasing out there, but a full remake of the game from so long ago is heading to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC when it is ready. All rebuilt from the ground up to use what the developer has learned over the years with their Sherlock Holmes titles and the most recent Cthulhu title The Sinking City. They are just getting mashed right together with a bit more of the story rewrites to make it all flow perfectly. Read More...

Star Trek: Resurgence Is Going To Have Much More Going On Under The Hood
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 2nd of August 2022 - 09:00 PM ]
Star Trek While at SDCC, I was able to see Star Trek: Resurgence in a more intimate setting. Here is my take on the latest for Star Trek: Resurgence It has been a bit of time since Star Trek: Resurgence was revealed to the world and showed that we could hold out hope to take command of a different vessel in the setting's universe. Not too much was revealed at that time, but it looks like that was for good reason with Dramatic Labs working hard to make sure the team's interactive storytelling pedigree was put to good use. That is why it was a solid treat to see some live gameplay for Star Trek: Resurgence out at SDCC this year, as well as getting to sit down with two of the game's writers Dan Martin and Andrew Grant. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 1st of August 2022 - 05:00 PM ]
Midnight Suns The next character for Marvel’s Midnight Suns is here to look at as the Midnight Suns get a bit more support out there We had a nice tease for Doctor Strange before, and now we get to see him in action in Marvel’s Midnight Suns. We are finally getting into the mystical and supernatural characters with Firaxis Games after many of the basic and currently popular superheroes in the mix. Maybe they are just waiting to give us all the true Midnight Suns roster right before October 7th when the game hits the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. That is neither here nor there right now, and we can just look at how the Sorcerer Supreme will be aiding the team and helping to control the battlefield a bit more against Lilith. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 27th of July 2022 - 05:00 PM ]
Midnight Suns The next hero for Marvel’s Midnight Suns was released during SDCC with Spider-Man joining the roster of this Midnight Suns More of the Midnight Suns are being held off here out of SDCC this year with the next character in the upcoming video game getting his own showcasing. That character is Spider-Man, who is not normally part of the core roster, but another one that Firaxis Games is giving us to help save the world from the horrors that are incoming. Now, we have a nice little introduction to Spidie in Marvel’s Midnight Suns and how he will play quite a bit differently than all of the others shown off so far. Midnight Suns More characters for Marvel’s Midnight Suns are getting highlighted for us to get us ready for the core Midnight Suns team The roster for Marvel’s Midnight Suns is going to be vast and we need to know just who and how they will all function in the game so we can properly bring down Lilith and her forces. We still have some time until October 7th to get that all in line and it looks like Firaxis Games is going to keep the ball rolling with more character bios and gameplay. This time around it is Iron Man who is joining the Midnight Suns team with some big showoff moves and wisecracks that the character has recently been saddled with. Read More...

The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil In Me Is Ready To Drop Some Story
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 7th of July 2022 - 07:00 PM ]
The Devil In Me A new bit of story for The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil In Me is out there to show how dark the hotel in The Devil In Me will go There have been hints for what was coming to us in The Dark Pictures: The Devil In Me when it drops this Fall, but now we can kick back and see a little bit more of the story. I do mean a little bit more, as it looks like Supermassive Games is leaning more into the horror aspect of leaving a bit up to the imagination when it comes to this one. That does not lower down any excitement for The Devil In I, but it could lead us down a few different paths in our expectations before it hits the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
