Perfect Dark
The next Perfect Dark title has some new gameplay to get us ready for when this Perfect Dark game lands on us
It feels like it has been almost forever since we heard that Perfect Dark had a new title on the way to the IP, but here we are finally getting to see some of that gameplay we have been expecting. All shown off during all of the other big shows this week with The Initiative finally ready to give us a taste before it launches on the Xbox Series X|S and PC. The original Perfect Dark was a lot of fun and a new one on the latest systems will need to keep up with all of that. Let us have a look and see just how it might be going for this one. With any luck, it will look like something that is not just another stylized first-person shooter title. A hard ask, I know.
As you will see here, this version of Perfect Dark looks a lot like some of the basic gameplay we would expect from a title like this. A little more action in the mix and some showing of things that will be IP-specific, mostly with the hacking and social engineering tech Joanna Dark will have to use. We do get to see Joanne be a bit more badass in Perfect Dark with some extra action that feels like it was perfectly timed and set up. My guess is that some of those action scenes will be more cutscenes unless the team learns how to make the combat as fluid as it all looks and how we will be able to snap aim to many different headshots even when there is no way to see all of them. Have a look and see just what I am talking about.
Perfect Dark — Gameplay
Earth has been struck by a series of disasters, bringing ecosystems around the world to the verge of collapse. In this first look at gameplay, follow agent Joanna Dark as she hunts down the world’s most wanted criminal, Daniel Carrington, to uncover the mysteries that threaten the lives of millions.
Are you excited for Perfect Dark after seeing this new gameplay or does it feel like many other first-person games we have had out there? Will it be the story of this one that helps it all stand out or will there be different gameplay we can expect in the mix instead? How much do you think was a cut scene here and how much was just well-rehearsed gameplay to make the video look snappy? Head on down to the comments and let us all know what you are thinking about all of this. There is still more to come for Perfect Dark down the line, so please keep on checking back to see all of that and more. Maybe we will even get some live footage to look at instead of what the marketing teams are willing to give us.
