Hello And Goodbye To The World Of Starcraft?
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 19th of January 2011 - 10:11 PM ]
Probably the coolest thing I saw this week was a video presentation for World of Starcraft! This whole video is done in the Starcraft 2 map editor and although it's in pre-pre-alpha it is something to watch. Check out the video after the jump! Now to answer your big question. No this is not Blizzard's official next gen MMO. Nor is it a secret leak for Titan. It's just modders doing what they do best. Read More...

Lara Croft Is A Dirty Little Minx In The New Tomb Raider
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 18th of January 2011 - 04:41 PM ]
Ok, so I might have to eat my previous words about the reboot for Tomb Raider. I may have been a bit quick to judge but in my defense that was back before anything real or tangible had been seen. I mean all we had was a rather unimpressive description of the story. Well now we have a good look at the new vision that Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix are taking the game. I will have to say I am extremely impressed with what we have here. I mean with the Left/Right Trigger prompt being on the screen I think it is safe to assume that we are looking at game play shots here too. Read More...

Mortal Kombat Has A Night Out With Mileena
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 12th of January 2011 - 11:25 PM ]
What would you do if you were forced to have a night out with Mileena from Mortal Kombat? What would the minds that put her together in the game want to do? Well we get answers to that and a few extras in the below video we have to bring you. Those extras by the way are some fun new game play with Mileena. Now while I personally wouldn't want to spend a night with Mileena, I do find some of the responses a bit funny. Like take her to a buffet and watch her go to town or the Thunder From Down Under responses. Read More...

A Date With Capcom At CES
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 12th of January 2011 - 05:20 PM ]
CES is generally not known for the game developers rocking out their new products and IPs. That is what E3 is for and we all know that. Capcom likes to break the mold and show up in force every year just to spread a bit more of the word on all of their upcoming titles. In this case, the titles were Marvel vs. Capcom 3, MotoGP 10/11, Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 and Okamiden - all of which I was able to put hands on. Let the impressions begin! Read More...

Review: World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 30th of December 2010 - 06:51 PM ]
Blizzard's World of Warcraft is the current definitive MMO. With six years of collected content, twelve million players, and three expansions, it doesn't look like WoW is going anywhere soon. Blizzard had built an empire, but to strengthen the empire's walls, it would have to rebuild itself from the inside out. For the past six years, in order for a player to reach the cap level of 80, players had to grind through some of the most grueling quests we've seen since Everquest. Kill, collect, rinse, repeat, this was the old scenario until Wrath of the Lich King. Read More...

Atari Announces Dungeons And Dragons: Daggerdale
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 23rd of December 2010 - 07:24 PM ]
Looks like Atari is breaking out the D20's. I'm a big D&D fan so any news of the franchise coming back to life is always a big plus. It was only this August that Atari was announcing its Neverwinter project for the PC, and now we have another D&D title slated for a 2011 release. Dungeons and Dragons: Daggerdale is an action packed RPG that will take place in the Dungeons and Dragons Forgotten Realms universe. Dungeons&Dragons: Daggerdale centers on the desperate struggle to defeat the evil Rezlus and his Zhentarim in their attempt to invade and conquer the Dalelands. Dungeons & Dragons: Daggerdale is an engaging multi-player experience that introduces a riveting narrative and treacherous new characters. Read More...

Watch Uncharted 3 Burn Up The Screen
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 22nd of December 2010 - 05:14 PM ]
So just recently on Jimmy Fallon Live, there was a showcasing of Uncharted 3's game play. Probably like most of you, I don't watch that late night show, so I missed out on it. Well, at least I'll say I missed out on the game play - not so much the retardababy banter I am sure commenced. What oh what to do? I guess we will simply have to rely on Naughty Dog to give us said game play to digest and enjoy. Rely we shall. Read More...

Another Episode For Marvel Vs. Capcom 3
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 21st of December 2010 - 05:36 PM ]
I've always been under the impression that Episodes had to have some kind of link between the stories. You know, one ends and then the next picks up where that one left off thus continuing the circle of life. So to speak. It seems that Capcom has forgotten that part of things when titling the latest story trailer for Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. The last clip left us with a fight between a slew of heroes fighting Doom and Super Skrull. Read More...

Bulletstorm Will Help Sate That Gears Of War 3 Need
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of December 2010 - 06:14 PM ]
No I'm not saying that Bulletstorm is going to be the stop gap in the need for Gears Of War 3. It will however score you a slot in the GoW3 beta. Well at least if you preorder the "Epic Edition" of Bulletstorm that is coming to the XBox 360. There is no price difference for the "Epic Edition" from any standard price for a new title ($59.99) but there are a few extras outside of the Gears beta. Those being 25,000 experience points and visual upgrades for the iconic leash, deadly Peace Maker Carbine, boots and armor for online play. Read More...

The VGAs Tried To Augment Our Reality. How'd They Do?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 16th of December 2010 - 10:19 PM ]
So being as the VGAs have kind of moved away from being an awards show and are now just another way to sell ad space for gaming companies, you would think they would try to do something to bring gamers' interest back. Am I right? I mean you had the Brütal Legend hour-long ad when Jack Black hosted in 2008. In 2009, the biggest thing I remember was the teaser for Batman: Arkham City and a small attempt to get Samuel L. Jackson linked back into the show. Read More...

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Trailer AT VGA's
by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 13th of December 2010 - 09:22 PM ]
This weekend Bethesda revealed their latest endeavor with a new Elder Scrolls series during the Spike TV VGA's. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is the long awaited sequel to Oblivion. The teaser doesn't give us much except for a little bit of story and some awesome stone wall which comes to life. If you want to take a full look at the wall check out the Skyrim teaser site. Skyrim also brings with it new technology, a new graphics/game play engine actually. Bethesda has announced that this time around they will be using a custom built game engine that will be more powerful than the previous Gamebryo engine which brought us Oblivion, Morrowind, and Fallout 3.
